Yeah, well we know that this site uses CloudFlare, so it's not surprising that this site experienced difficulties. I only experienced slowdowns here and at Renderosity. My banking sites were not affected, other sites I visited were not affected. It could be that the ones affected use CloudFlare for caching. That wouldn't mean the entire Internet was affected, only that CloudFlare was affected.
And CloudFlare has been a problem here before, even when this DDoS wasn't happening.
I think we've all seen enough in our lives to take whatever a big business says, especially one that has a financial interest in the subject, with a bunch of grains of salt.

...I'm now getting "Server not reachable" errors. When I click on the back button and then click wither Preview or Submit again, everything works like it should.

I'm getting CloudFlare pages when I try to get to a thread. "The site is currently off line." Then it has a button to go to the live site.
Wonderful.

...this is getting really ridiculous. Eleven months and no sign yet of anything remotely resembling stability.

Ha, usually clicking on "Retry for a working version of this site" works the first time...
...This time I had to click that nine times before it brought me back to the forum XD
Even better, I refreshed the page and it borked again :B
GAAAHHHH!!!
Sorry, just frustrated by all this cloudflare crap.
To reload the page properly, it's taken: Five refreshes, three, three, seven, four, two, nine (!?), and this time three refreshes. Haha XD
Oh yeah and three refreshes to load the post dialogue =B
Awww even the picture I posted went poof =(
At least our avatars are still here :)
I'm amazed any of this stuff works at all.
Yay, and still logged in, awesome. The internet in Australia used to be one modem in a guy's office, now there is fibre and wireless everywhere.
...I heard about that but can't remember how to change that setting. Unfortunately you now need a connection to the net to use help files. The workstation does not have a net connection and streaming videos at home are a real pain because of my slow connection.
You can turn off shadows per light or per object, shadows are either raytraced or not, dont think there is a per object setting for it :)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I've tried another sample code from PayPal for the IPN nonsense, and it didn't work. Actually, it partially worked. I logged the first incoming message and it's all there. But I don't know if the response from my site worked or not, and I didn't get the final response from PayPal. Their sandbox has a "Test IPN" page and it keeps giving me a Internal Server Error. I'm using their code!!! Why won't it work? >:-(

I hope he's getting better sleep than I...less than five hours. Then I reset my alarm and tried to get another :45...didn't fall back asleep at all.

Morphing wyvern? o3o
Haha, I doubt the new wyvern will ever replace the Wyvern 2.0 for me. Not in my runtime or my heart. After all, I've already based two of my most beloved characters off of the Wyvern 2.0, and its design is just so <3</p>
It would be great to have another dragon (especially a non-western one like the Mestophales, MilDragon, and SubDragon) in the dragon family here, but... I think it will ultimately end up suffering from the "Trying to be too many things at once" sickness and fall a bit short of the Wyvern 2 and the SubDragon in design. Customizaility is great though, is wonderful to see not every dragon being the same, but we'll have to wait and see.
Maybe with some textures from Rawn... =3
Non-complaint:
The Daz Animal sale is finally showing the right discounts.
Complaint:
I bought a zoo-load of stuff.
The new math, DAZ3D style:
Fantasy Sale "Over 2000 Items"
Click on "See All 2000+ Items" button.
See1514 items.
Therefore:
1514>2000
:)
Hey, I'm just glad the Site is back up and running. ;-)
http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/1100-Photorealistic-Camera-Lens-Effects-in-After-Effects This.
The stuff for Fusion and Nuke seemed a lot more impressive and in-depth, but then again I dunno how much of it was the 3D software itself and how much of it was the compositing software XD
Most of the stuff they have for After Effects doesn't really... Seem to be my thing. But every little bit counts yus? :P
THIS ESPECIALLY http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/751-Destruction-Compositing-Techniques-in-NUKEX
Is the sort of stuff I want to know how to do. Those colored glares, dust, broken stuff :P
I don't see much like that with After Effects. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but AE falls a bit short in the "Bloom/glare, fog/mist, flames, etc" regions. I think I'm probably just looking in the wrong place ^_^
Hm... Also as of R14, C4D was going to be getting better intergration with one of the compositing softwares... I forget which one, but I think it was Nuke. Either Nuke or Fusion.

...there is as long as you are using UE. Was steered to a really nice tutorial thread all about hair (bookmarked) which included the steps to turn off ray tracing and occlusion on the hair as well as improving the look of hair content as well using render settings. After making the necessary adjustments, 12 minutes later I got this...

Very nice, palm trees and all!
Dana
...thank you.
The palms are Lisa B's She does such wonderful plants
I wanted to go for that hazy day in LA look.
My first-ever vent post. :p
Some dentists are good. Some dentists are bad. Some dentists, when their cheerful sadist of a hygienist tells them you are "starting to feel some pressure" and you verbally correct them to "I am feeling pain," look at your shaking, tear-stained face and say "Ha ha" like you've made some sort of joke.
And those dentists are terrible human beings.
Glad you sorted it out. Nothing worse than that "why won't this work" feeling. A great render...is that your Leela? (Forgive me if I'm getting her name wrong - I can barely remember my own these days, LOL)
A couple of my own recent renders. I seem to be on a DC Silver Age Superman Family kick lately. Ah youth...

...nah, just have a soft spot for red hair & blue eyes.
...those are nice.
Good job on the Supergirl...well on both, of course!
