Purchased now to download, he looks great
I think it may be the difference in the zero pose between Gen8 and previous generations that's causing autofit to throw hissy fits. Either that or I have a busted copy. Just tried putting a Genesis bodysuit on him, you'd think it'd work as he does have both a Genesis clone and the option for Full Body conversions under autofit. The results are ... see for yourself. Is it just me or is this also happening to anyone using him in the latest Studio build?
I have this but its because the clothes are not "fitted to" the figure so I select the garment in the viewport - Right Click - Fit To G8M & then it works properly
For me this only happens with Genesis clothes, everything else works as it always did so I don't think we are doing anything wrong, it must be a new feature :)
I had it happen with one piece of G2M clothing....a jacket for a suit where all the other pieces conformed correctly.

I couldn't fit G3 clothing to G8 male. No tricks helped. The same thing with G8 females.
I've had no issues getting older clothing to fit to G8F (I've not tried with G8M yet). Someone over on another thread said they tested this with two versions of Daz Studio and according to them the newest versions of Daz Studio work fine for auto-fitting older clothes to the G8 figures, while the older versions have issues with it. So if you're having troubles, you might update to the newest version of Daz Studio and see if that helps.
I think I will file a bug tomorrow as I can reproduce the same problem everytime. I fit the G3M casual style wear product to G8M and save the scene then when I reopen the scene or restart DAZ and reopen the scene the casual style wear clothing is badly misaligned and about 50% higher than the human model on the Y axis although the pose of the human model and clothing remain the same...
Do you have the newest version of Daz Studio?
Divamakeup, thank you for the advise! It seems that my DS is up to date, but I will try to mess with DS Beta.
Yes, I have the 4.9.4.122 Release / 4.9.4.122 Public Beta both installed and no other copies of DAZ Studio.
This is my G8M guy. The body is a mix of bodybuilder, emaciated (just a touch to bring down the body size without losing the bodybuilder shape), and G8F (to bring his pecs out a bit more). The head is dial-spun from the head morph pack. The skin is the base G8M skin recolored. The hair is the Keegan hair from the Guy 7 Pro Bundle, and the shirt is the basic black muscle shirt for G8M. We are in crunch time at work, but after we submit our current project, I'll revisit him and give him proper lights and an environment.
I still do not have G8M essentials in my DIM.
This is because you are using 4.8.x.x - AutoFit was recently updated, a bit before the Genesis 8 Female launch, to allow a clone to include posing information (to cope with the changed zero pose) - your version won't be able to use that aspect and so will fail where it is needed.
Is this why there's far less tamplate options for G8's projections?
Its a DFormer that can be used to split the morphs to just the head area of the figure or just the body area of the figure. It is a part of G8M and G8F starter essentials and its located in content library under People - G8F (or G8M) - Developer Kit. Its use:

Cloths from G1 up should fit on G8M but not M4 right?
You're not saving the autofitted clothes as a new G8M fit? That might be part of the problem — when I convert older clothes to a newer Genesis generation I always save them as a new Figure Asset, and I haven't had any glitches like that.
Yet... (fingers crossed)
That one handsome fellow! Nicely done
Well I think that change has a bug. I will file a bug when I finish my render so I can upload the scene file to their developers in my bug report although I think that can reproduct it easily - I just have a few G8M / G8F morphs applied and posed and G8F / G8M wearing G3M / G3F clothing and the clothing float away from G8M but not G8F when I reopen the scene.
Thanks, I intend to do that now that G8 is out for every single outfit that I have...but no this bug wasn't a behavior that DAZ Studio had before and it hasn't happened yet for G8F.
I have the same problem with the hair. It loads on the back of his head, from the front he appears to be bald.
I get the same, with and without lights, with and without eyelashes/eye.. fluid? I think that was it. Fiddles a bit with settings, but no joy.
Could be that my trusty Studio 4.6 is showing its age, but I'm not sure upgrading on an old machine (I'm taking nearly 8 years old) would be a good idea. Might have to wait until I finally upgrade my beloved coffee grinder.
4.6? He will not even work properly on 4.8, not if you want to use autofit on him. I just had to update in order to have more than just undies in his closet. Mind you, his autofit options are still pretty limited but unless he encounters a society where bare feet are considered obscene he won't get arrested on a public indecency charge.
Well I'm using DS 4.9.4.117 and still having the black eye issues ...
He loads and poses well enough So far, I got away with all the 'requires version 4.7, 4.8 and 4.9' by simply ignoring it and plowing on to see how well stuff goes.
With regard to the black eye syndrome; I've compared the surface settings for G8M to those of G8F. So far I have found that G8M's 'Eye Moisture' and 'Cornea' have 'Refractive Strength' set to 12.5% whereas G8F's is 0%.
Setting this to 0% for G8M removes the black eyes.
(I'm using Daz Studio 4.9.4.117)
Thank you!!
FWIW, the eye moisture looks fine in .122 :)

@RCDeschene "Is this why there's far less tamplate options for G8's projections?"
If you're referring to what is currently available for G3, remember that most of the options are from PA products, notably Wear Them All and SY Ultra Templates.
My first G8M render (and first morph experiment with him)
