I'm going to apply LAMH to it, and put in some special thingies, like female and male furring; male will also have an option for mating season coloration of crest and other goodies. (Edit: Not THOSE goodies. I mean, crest and wattle and stuff like that.)

And yes, Wyvern 2.0. And yes, I will do the mouth and all that jazz.

Complaint: Damnit, I just checked my subscriptions and it shows Active and next payment date is 05/14/2014! >:-( There are no subscriptions in my PayPal account...I just checked. And I did not authorize a credit card withdrawal. My annual PC was never on a credit card! I had removed my credit card information from my account several months ago. Since my subscription was not on a credit card, it should not have renewed that way. And since I did not, and do not, have any subscriptions in my PayPal account, it should not have renewed in there, either. I don't know what's going on here. I did not want to re-up for an annual subscription! I will refute this charge, wherever it was made.

I just called my credit card company and there is not even a pending charge from DAZ3D. PayPal is pretty quick, and nothing shows there. I don't understand. :-S

Sometimes it turns out that seemingly gimmicky thing is for reaaaalz.

See the linked image: Black Spiral Dancer.

The wolf-thing with wings... is Genesis. With lots and lots of morphs slapped together.

Daz must be getting hammered - product downloads are taking forever to start, and then they're slower than molases in Maine in Winter. :bug:

Just have to keep trying, I guess. That's my complaint. :blank:

Non-complaint: Vacation starts tomorrow, no work until next Wednesday! We're talking bbq, beer, and dancing girls! :cheese:

Yep. Everybody is trying to download 4.6, I think.
It's even borking up the Forum and Store.

    Still

...I thought the Genesis Essentials didn't need to be updated.

In any event, can't DL until tomorrow as I had an appointment today that took up the afternoon (a good part of the time just getting to and from there on our wonderful transit system). Took a nap after I got home as I was rather tired.
Essentials update showed up in the DIM. Not sure if it was updated specifically for 4.6. I installed it before I updated to 4.6, so it was prolly not 4.6 specific.
...found out why. According to Richard, there were some updates to the data files. Going to DL and install anyway as it may fix my default Genesis which for some reason has been loading in with the YT Julie body shape.

It's the first day of my vacation, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :cheese:

Complaints, though: First, I woke up at 7:30am even though I wanted to sleep in and had turned the alarm off. Dang it! Second, I forgot to do laundry so, well, I'm doing it now so I have clean clothes to wear when I go out tonight. Meh. And I'm installing software, which is about as exciting as watching paint dry, only without getting high off the fumes. :blank:

Non-complaint: Beautiful, sunny, and warm today.. a perfect day to go out in the late afternoon for strippers and beer! It's PARTY TIME!!! :cheese: :snake:

...I gotta scrape up the Zlotys and pay a visit sometime. sounds like fun. Portland gets toooo weird sometimes.

Wooly, once you get into Genesis, I think it is likely to be even simpler than dealing with V4. :)

Morphs for Genesis are in Parameter tab, under Actor.

Expressions are in Parameter tab as well (under a different spot), but some poses that take advantage of them are under People -> Genesis -> Poses -> Expressive (for example)

...and if you have GenX you can add Gen4 morphs & characters to Genesis. I have all the V4++ morphs loaded as well as a few of my oft used gen4 character morphs. I also have Aiko5 and can say she looks really really sweet (built my KK character off of her). Granted, not the cute big eyed anime Aiko like A3 is, but I find I use her more than even V5 as her facial features are a lot softer. The nice thing with Genesis, GenX, and two of Thorne's Merchant resource morph kits I have so much to work with.

During the "Days of WIn7 Agnst", actually went back to 3Advanced to test a few things to see if it would break like 4.5 was and found it so...limiting. Rebuilt Leela and could only come so close to what I have done with Genesis. She almost looked "too old" compared to the YT Genesis version and I found myself wanting to mix K4 but then remembered how clumsy and resource intensive the figure mixer in 3A was (basically the new figure has the total poly weight of both figures used).

...and it doesn't work with cross generation/figure mixes, (like combining toon and realistic).

Grab 3DCoat's demo and play with it -- I find it VERY awesome, as it feels like painting with Photoshop or GIMP and the demo is a full version. The interface is extremely intuitive and if you can use Photoshop/GIMP/whatever graphics program, you're already geared for this.

Import -> Model for per pixel painting, and there you go, start slapping paint on your thingie.

I thought you used Masked Edit and MaskedTextBox to validate user input in a VB session, been a while might be wrong ;)

there is an Input mask, and validation rules. but it just prevents people from typing in the characters. they'll get stuck, and then they'll call me. though, the way i'm doing it, they might call to find out why their parentheseeeseses is being replaced by underscores. but, if i put the function in a form-beforeupdate event and then close the form, they may never notice :)

Can't - I've downloaded it before, and my demo's been expired for months. Over the course of the trial I probably used it for a grand total of two or three hours. Not because I didn't like it, but because of my own shortcomings. I found I was able to quickly UV stuff easily, but never used any of the "other" UV-ing feautres because I didn't understand them, ended up breaking stuff I fixed, and couldn't get any good info out of the currently available videos.

The UI was pretty good I admit - infinitely better than zBrushes, but I couldn't understand what half of it was or what it did. Again, videos didn't do much to help (At the time. I dunno if they've gotten better/more videos or written stuff since then)

You could also grab 3DCoat V4 beta off the forum, reasonably sure that it uses a different verification, since hey, beta test..

I tried that yesterday. I got an "overflow call center" who can only put in a ticket, which she did. We all know how that goes. Maybe I'll hear back in June sometime.
