Personally, as others have said, I'm very happy with just having gotten those few votes I've received.

Of course, I would have liked more, since I love Stonemason's products and can't afford to buy nearly as many as I'd like.

However, I hadn't expected to get any votes. As I mentioned in the original contest thread, even if I could have voted for myself I wouldn't have, there's far too many excellent entries.

I think it was just good being in this contest, to see what other people do and to learn from other images. Now, I just need to figure out what other contests are going on this site. :)

There were some amazing pictures by ALOT of talented people and they ALL deserve to win. It would be different if there were just a couple of amazing pictures but there were alot of them. I also noticed how many different pictures were chosen by people as their favorite. I guess it depends on if the picture speaks to you or touches you in a certain way. So because there are so many great pictures, it will be very difficult for Stephen to pick a winner.

Ah. I suppose since I don't have anything invested in who the winners will be, it's not suspenseful to me.

Now, what's REALLY suspenseful is whether we will get pay increases this year at work after six years of no pay raises. Apparently, a retro pay raise is being considered, but that's no guarantee we will get one or even get a pay raise.

We should know ... soon. Well, if 8 weeks or so could be called soon.

Being retired with a lot of time on my hands, and waiting for a Luxrender to run its course, I had a look at the voting and discovered that over forty of the images had received at least one vote as the favorite.
When you consider that over eighty people cast 8 votes each and that there is some kind of scale on the value of the vote, the tallying of the voting must be awesomely difficult!

It's truly one of the most remarkable things about the contest, this incredible spread of talent, and not only the spread of images people have tried to choose as their own "top eight" but all the beautiful images throughout.

And don't forget the mystery winners chosen by Stonemason before the voting started.. those have to be removed from the lists of 8, and likely are the ones who got the most votes. So now consider the likely number of ties amongst the remainder, and add that to Stefan's always hectic production schedule, and you have the formula for estimating how many years before the winners are announced..
