Absolutley
What did you use to do the colors? Now that I kinda have a handle of the black and white I wanna try to add some color.
The colors are a combination of IRAY emissives in the sets and a Topaz Studio Filter. If you want to get good at using IRAY, you have to get skilled at using both IRAY lighting. You can do some cool stuff with IRAY lighting. Took me awhile to learn what I know and I;m still learning. Just learned something new today through experimentation. #Delight lighting is a whole different animal.
Gotcha! Lighting seems to be the key to most everything! I’ve just been rendering in 3delight so far. I haven’t really dabbled in IRAY. Guess I need to get out of of my comfort zone and start learning this stuff! I appreciate all the tips and pointers!
Blade Runner. I tried a new Topaz filter on this one. Let me know if you think it's too realistic for this thread.
Hot new Photoshop recipe for you!
The before(top) is an ordinary, no shaders 3Delight render, with a single distant light source. The x rotation is set to -25. That's it.
The after(bottom) is that same pic, run through my latest recipe! Here's how you do it!
Make two duplicate layers of your image.
Select the top layer. Then go to Filters -> Artistic -> Poster Edges.
Fill the following numbers in the the fields: 0, 0, 6. Apply.
Go to Layer -> Layer Style -> Blending Options. Set the Blend Mode to Overlay. Apply.
Select the middle layer. Then go to Layer -> Layer Style -> Blending Options. Set the Blend Mode to Screen. Apply
Flatten your image. You're done!
Since the Collada exporter from Unity and Polygon Adventure Pack was updated, it was a time to give it a go.
I have rendered exported collada scene in Daz Studio iray and processed render in Topaz Studio.
Topaz Clean:
Topaz Simplify:
Topaz Studio only:
I've just seen that there is a 30% sale on ArtRage5 at the moment.
Thanks for the heads up. May be I will upgrade my old version.
Blew the dust off of PWToon, because I haven't used it since I got the new computer, and decided to make a little something. One of my online friends uses the "Zombies, Run!" app. Its kind of an excercise buddy, that augments your daily run/jog with an interactive zombie apocalypse story. So this is kinda based off the stuff she's posted to me about it.
Could be straight out of hi tech big screen animation
Carrara Job, Topaz Impression and Filter Forge , plus Oloneo to brink out the details before those filters were applied
Thanks. PWToon plays well with G3 apparently!
I just spotted that Sketchy - Toon Edge and Art Style Shaders for Iray is now in the Fast Grab. Not a studio user myself but there look to be some nice effects for those who are.
I couldn't resist it any longer at that price. Picked it up, and an Iray mesh lighting suite. I wasn't sure how a toon shader would work with such light sources, but the results speak for themselves.
nice job on the skin vrba79
below: Carrara Job
combo of carrara's native render passes and topaz buz sim and topaz impression
Nice work, head wax.
Wow...like it!!!!
Awesome processing and post work....
Fantastic results....
thank you Artini - I was just looking at some of your vector style (?) renders on the carrara forum yesterday - very inspiring
I haven't played much with genesis 2, but when I decided to try out this little character, well... she just had to be tooned!
Here is the original render before photoshop and topaz filters and fixes
Thanks a lot. I do not use Carrara, so much, because I am not so comfortable with its interface, yet.
Usually, I create a scene in Daz Studio, transfer it to Carrara, adjust it, as needed and render with vector style.
agreed - nice effect, that. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks! Its actually PWtoon lit with an UE2 with AO turned on.
It's a look I really like. Nice choices, and thanks for the detail.
cheers,

Hey folks, how the Summer?
I made some good money and cash selling physical copies of my first comic book, Journey to Aaru. Its a story set in a grim future, where 2 Egyptian Techies guide a mysterous android to his "afterlife." Its a story of consequences, the pursuit of dreams, artifical intelligence, and most importantly, the human heart. The story is broken down to 13 chapters, mixed with Traditional, digital, and a now miminal use of Daz3d for environments and props. With the funding, feedback, and praises of the comic, I will continue on until the story is finish.
Here are 4 major characters, one more on the way!

So, backstory on this character, is that she's from a comic I abandoned about five years ago.
The original version of the character was made with Genesis 1 morphs. This verison with Genesis 2. Yet I somehow managed to recreate her look from memory.
Like the "Runner" pic I posted earlier, this is done with PWtoon + a UE light. The background is stock photo that I did a faded blur effect on.
