Olaf has his hands full with the shield-maiden and the giant chicken.. it'll have to wait.. (smirk)

I'm gonna guess that the shield-maiden's cunning plan is to turn Olaf into a giant chicken-bait.

I actually haven't decided the outcome yet! few more parts in and I'll make up my mind how things work out between Olaf and the shield-maiden...

One thing I can assure you of - she is not to be trifled with! (scared face)

Olaf and his adventures could turn out to be an endless inspiration for renders! Right now I wish I were at home, rendering a might shield-maiden with fiery eyes and a huge sword! (cry cry)

Non-complaint: lunch! It turns out that there's a Mexican church across the parking lot and they have a Saturday parking lot sale. So the production manager comes to tell me, we walk over, and I get a HOME COOKED chicken tamale and a HOME COOKED sausage wrap! and OMG ARE T"HEY GOOD! This is one of the best tamales I've had and the sausage wrap has a tasty bite to it!

Real honest to goodness Mexican home cooking - yum! Makes working all day Saturday less painful.

90°F here in the coastal mountains around the Monterey Bay. Humidity caused by the sudden heat after the recent rains burned off completely within a day.

Really, really hoping we don't hit the 110° F mark here this summer and that this heat passes soon for everyone.

They'll likely be drop next week - this will be his first meeting with the shield-maiden and it needs to be UBER EPIC!!!

I hate to admit I'm becoming quite fond of Olaf... (red face)

I might drop my other two Webcomic ideas and focus on Olaf and his adventures, turn the Webcomics into written serials, and enjoy life. (cool smile)

Yeah - we're getting modestly hammered (105f here right now), other places in the Southwest are getting their pants burned off!!!

    Olaf?

Olaf the Brave, Olaf the Warior, Olaf the Mighty, only defeated once so far (by a kilometer long pike). Olaf of whom the bards sing, whose adventures I document in epic poetry spanning pages of this thread!

    That Olaf (hee hee)!

Logging out won't help they're storing tracking cookies that ad providers pull to theoretically display ads for products you want. If you use firefox there's an addon that will remove these cookies when you close your browser and can even stop you getting them in the first place. One is called BetterPrivacy but you can do a search for LSO blockers.

    Home from work! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

We discovered the problem - it's the hardware. The 5V device runs faster than the 3.3V one even though the 3.3V version is "mostly identical" (this from the hardware engineer last week). So, I put all the old 5V magic numbers back in and POOF everything started working.

The production test manager declared victory, we packed up and left.

Robert, the production manager, game me a ride to the liquor store near me - he knew where it was (lol)! So I have potato vodka, Crown Royal, and ber! LET THE PARTY BEGIN!

Monday won't be a fun day - I get to explain to my boss that the supposedly identical new 3.3V hardware.. isn't. Then it's sit with the hardware designer and find out what parts aren't "mostly identical" and identify the perpetrator. Ugh.

I did get six hours in, so this pays for most of the day after the 4th. I took off! Can't complain..

..except about it hitting 106f here. It's just 2 blocks from the liquor store and OI arrived dripping in sweat! Now happily letting the A/C blow over me!

Mildly peeved about being the only engineer willing to come in and fix this.. ugh.

Yeah, whenever an engineer tells me something is "mostly identical" my first question is ok what's not identical? Their response is usually something like "nothing important" which is engineering for "you need to assume everything is different cause I ain't got a clue".

Well, I should have been suspicious when he told my boss that there had to be "minor changes" to support a new digital pyrometer (used to detect people).. ANY circuit change can make a huge difference. But I didn't press.. stupid me.

    Oh well.
