The PA host for this Challenge is Marcelo Teixeira, otherwise known in the Daz marketplace as GKDantas.
Marcelo is a 3d artist and videographer from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Early in his life, Marcelo wanted to shoot movies and create his own worlds. However, he couldn't afford the essential camera equipment, so he shifted his attention to 3D. Starting with an Amiga 500, he was soon exploring programs such as Imagine 3D and Real 3d.
Eventually Marcelo moved to PC. He got fairly proficient on Lightwave, but he had to learn it on someone else's computer (Lightwave was not affordable, about $3000 at that time). So he tried Blender and eventually entered the Daz world through the discovery of Hexagon. At the same time he noticed that Daz had acquired something called "Carrara." Making inquiries, he encountered Ringo Monfort, who gave him encouragement, and introduced him to the Daz3D family. It was the type of support he had always wanted, but had not found in other 3D communities. With Carrara, he thrived, and soon became a Daz Professional Artist.
His Carrara products are varied. Among them are GI domes (HDRI backgrounds), V4 toon shaders, V4/M4 ultimate skin shaders, scratch brushes for NPR and paint, SSS presets, and realistic leaves for Carrara trees. He also designed an urban scene for Carrara called "The Corner in the Box," for setting up quick renders with your favorite characters.
From the very beginning, Marcelo had a desire to help others. Even from his Amiga days, he reached out to other aspiring 3D artists in the Brazilian community, and helped them for free.
Today he has his own company, euQfiz, which translates as "I DID IT." And yet, he continues to offer free support, and has created a huge number of Carrara video tutorials which are posted online. Here are some links: (thanks Dart!)

TY Bunyip,
chasing down freebies was going to be one of my next daunting challenges, I will try to scrounge up whatever I can find too and link
but yes anyone who wishes to add to the thread is more than welcome
You're welcome Wendy. I will also update the above list with any freebie links that are posted so that there is a single reference point for them at the start of this thread, will save everyone having to continually look for them.
What about my freebies?

tryin to think horror
does g8f's nail beds count as horrors
Excellent! Only this and nothing more.
@Bunyip02 - I don't think my ShareCg freebies that you linked to above count since they are all in DAZ Studio format. :(
I actually have Carrara versions of them for my own use, since I don't render in DS, but I never got around to uploading them anywhere.
I do have a couple Carrara freebies I made for some of the forum animation projects though: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2twaec306rwl763/AACTqZMSl6Av_fsZbeFdkCI0a?dl=0
yeah sorry being a tad picky but you can certainly use any freebies as long as you have at least one in .car format it need not be the starring item
does the new uwrap utility or phong tessellation count as car freebie?
ty
well I guess since it only works in Carrara it could though not specifically a .car file
time try those gatwyck again
myste
Thanks for the heads-up, changed the link to your dropbox. Maybe you could add your Carrara versions to your dropbox ?
Does every song by Celine Dion count as horror?

Love how the guy with the camera is just standing there. Very realistic!

Have you checked out wgdjohns modelling thread ? - https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/96301/modeling-objects-in-carrara-q-a-come-one-and-all/p1
Thanks Stezza, looking forward to seeing a red FJ ute being driven by the Devil to the tune of Highway to Hell by AC/DC
I was thinking that as well... lol
but my first image has taken me on a different horror bus route!
so far I have modelled a simple rifle and some stray electrical wires...
I also downloaded a free Carrara bus from Renderosity for this one..
also using a brain model i think I got that from ShareCG can't remember now. Having my stray electrical wires protruding from it! eeek!
also using the Curious school for this one. Everything including GF will be put together in PSE
I'll post the finished image on Monday!
usual rush sorry
Evil's amazing Dell Morning Mist - thanks for the kindness Kevin.

Will visit tomorrow and comment on what has gone before.
