RiverSoft Art and Sickleyield are proud to present the RSSY Clothing Converter from Genesis to Genesis 8 Female! Finally, use your Genesis clothing with your Genesis 8 Female characters! Automatically convert your entire wardrobe of clothes, including high-heels, using the new RSSY Clothing Converter script! The RSSY Clothing Converter from Genesis to Genesis 8 Female has been carefully crafted to handle the different rigging and shapes between Genesis and Genesis 8 Female, even adding special rigs for loincloths, capes and a special dress/tunic rig that adds pose bones to avoid that "sticking to the legs" effect.

The Clothing Converter script provides batch execution for automatically converting your Genesis clothing to Genesis 8 Female clothing in your Library. Easily select the wardrobe items in your Library, select an output directory and execute the script. Even better, icons and categories are copied from your Genesis clothing to the new Genesis 8 Female clothing items.

Your new Genesis 8 Female wardrobe is completely Smart Content aware! They will show up when you select a Genesis 8 Female. Plus, all materials shown in Smart Content for your Genesis item will show for your converted Genesis 8 Female item. Converted clothing, instead of using Auto-Fit, produces vastly less distorted results, especially with high-heels!

The Clothing Converter script does not work with accessories or wearables (e.g., outfits). High-heeled shoes may require a manual step during conversion if the original shoes do not include a foot pose.

The script may not be able to convert all clothing items without issues. Converted items may exhibit poke through. Usually, this can be fixed by adding a smoothing modifier or a push modifier.

  • Convert Genesis Clothing items for use by Genesis 8 Female.
  • Convert Dresses/Tunics, Pants, Shirts, Skirts, Shoes, Loincloths, Capes, Coats etc.
  • Copies icons from Genesis clothing to Genesis 8 clothing for a professional look
  • Automatically convert your entire wardrobe with one operation!

How to convert Footwear with Clothing Converter

image

Important Fix (11/30/2018)

There is an error in the script, which affects both the female and male versions of the product.  The transfer rigging-figure space step is not happening in the script (except for footwear) Fixing this DRAMATICALLY improves gloves, bodysuits, anything on the extremities of the figures.  The reason why it's noticable for males compared to the females product is that G8 male has large shoulders and arms, placed higher up, than Genesis.  The shape difference with the arms/shoulders of G8 Female is substantially less.  Please copy the attached RSGenesisClothingConversionFunctions.dse below to Data/RiverSoft Art/Common directory.  There will be an official patch from Daz; this is for immediate use.  You will need to reconvert shirts with arms, gloves, and bodysuits.  I apologize for the error.

This one I'm looking forward to, after seeing how well the others work (though I did not get the G2M to G8M yet, as I don't have many G2M clothes - mayby another day).

  • Well, the converter bonanza goes on ;-) I would not wonder if you might be able to do a V4 -> G8F converter one day. And this would be a biggy as I purchased quite some V4 cloth with all the recent discounts which I might use much more once converted.

As I already own your G2F --> G8F and G3F --> G8F I wonder if you might start offering discounts for owners of other converters or bundles someday?

One more question regarding Genesis. If I remember it right, Genesis covered M/F with one base model?! If so, will/could your converter also convert from Genesis to G8M or at least cover clothing for male genesis to convert to G8F?

  • The absolute madmen! You finally did it!!

This, coupled with dForce modifiers... man, a lot of really good Genesis stuff can finally have new life again.

Good to hear!  They are getting harder to do but it is still worth it.

The V4 will be a big one whenever we try.  Apparently, it will require a new way to do it sad  As a policy, Daz does not do bundles after products are released, though occassionally there are exceptions.  We will discuss discounts, though each product is separate as Sickleyield has to start from scratch for every product (I can reuse a lot at least in the same generation).

Unfortunately, the morphs to take Genesis to a female figure and a male figure are different so it will be 2 products.

    You're welcome!

  • Excellent News!

I will be getting both the male and female versions of this as soon as I see them. Im very satisfied with the previous converters so there is no squestion I will be grabbing these.  Thank you so much!

Awesome, definitely going to have to pick this up.  Also, I was wondering if y'all had given any thought to automating the transference of charachter morphs from g3 to g8 as well?

Can’t wait, been looking forward to this, maybe I’ll finally be able to convert Santa Baby without the top fur looking funky :)

You had mentioned doing hair converters..... Was just wondering if this was on the list still or not?  No hurry if it is, I will be content to know its still on the list lol.

Thanks for continuing to make these. How odd that I've spent $50+ and counting to get "our most backward compatible figure ever" into old clothes properly.

  • The V4 will be a big one whenever we try.

So that's next week then angel

Really nice to see this, especially for the "male" outfits like the short order cook, Mad Doctor and Jockey... and, of course, the SuperSuit, even though I'll probably have to replace most of the shaders for Iray.
