  • It happens with the converted capes for G1 > G8F, too, using the cape conformer.

  • Even with the update, I'm getting bulbous armpit issues that I don't get with autofit. See rough renders below.

  • Same problem with the G2F to G8F script which I also bought recently.

The pics below show the G2F MFD. The render with the bulbous armpits is using the RSSY Clothing Converter G2F to G8F. The normal armpits render is an autofit of G2F MFD onto G8F using the knee-length dress template that comes with DS. I didn't apply a smoothing modifier to either.

You haven't missed it.  It is still on the list.  Though the popularity of the converters is going down every release (peak clothing saturation? laugh) so we will have to see if it keeps making sense.

I bet V4/M4 to G8 will behave like a rocket from the earth to the moon...of jupiter

It would instantly go to the top of the The Times Best Seller list angel

  • That's with the cape conformer.

Hmm.  Ok, then yes that is the best it is going to be.  The cape conformer adds bones so you can separate it from the legs (unlike the body conformer or autofit).

Not everything will be perfect with the converters.  Sickleyield worked hard to make the conformers "grab" the right areas of an outfit and morph them to the G8F shape.  However, there are still problem areas and/or problem outfits.  I am sorry that we couldn't do better for you.

I am detecting just a little bit of hyperbole here smiley

Oh ok. Based on what was said in the product page, I thought it would perform better than autofit: "Converted clothing, instead of using Auto-Fit, produces vastly less distorted results, especially with high-heels!" That's why I bought the scripts. But, you can see in the pictures that, even beyond the armpits, the results are more distorted than autofit not less.

I brought this up because I thought this was a script/conformer error that you all would/could fix...not a known limitation. Thanks for the clarification.

You're welcome.  In general, the converted clothing are better.  But there are cases that don't work quite as well.

  • The Female update is live in the store!  The male is still going through testing.

    Hi Folks,

    Looking for some insight here...

I am trying to figure a work flow for getting things (ie: clothing, shoes etc..) from V4 library to a point where this product, which I have purchased, is able to convert to G8 fitting.

Do I autofit to Genesis, then to Genesis 2 etc... ?

    Thanks!

    Scott

@Synpainter  , RiverSoftArt has said it is possible to go V4-Genesis- G8 BUT it will not be a good conversion,  personally I'm waiting for them to do a converter from V4 to G8 .....

It is *not* possible to go from V4 to G8 yet.  The converter needs to load the clothes without auto-fit so it is not possible yet.

@carrie58 What I had said was possible is to go from (Genesis->G3 or G2->G3 by going from G2->G8->G3) but that the quality will not be as good as straight conversion.

  • I have had the error message 'no clothing files detected' on a couple of directories. Trying to load the files individually produces the same error.

Usually means the metadata for items are not correct.  You can turn off the Check Content Type option and add the files you know are clothing.

Thanks. I was having this exact same problem, and unchecking "check content type" seems to have fixed it. I guess it's because these items were originally designed for "male" Genesis?

No, that isn't the problem.  I *think* there are 2 problems: 1) that far back the metadata was not very good, and 2) DS seems to lose the metadata for some reason for some users.
