I recently saw the animated Dreamworks movie, Abominable.  Someone with about a billion hours of free time could make almost all of it with Carrara.  The most challenging-lookng scenes involved hair or water, IMHO.  Carrara has had the hair since C6 and the Fluidos plugin would actually be overkill for the water, which was generally toonified in the movie.

Misty - Starship Troopers!  Johnny joined because of a girl, but he made squad leader on his own.  Let's kill some bugs!

DennisGray41 - I remember Tales from the Crypt.  Good stuff.  Will have to check some streamin services to see if I can binge watch during the next bout of bad weather.

I didn't hear of this one at all, but saw the title on Vudu (movie stream/buy, etc., service) when it was fairly recently released to BluRay/Digital Download. Passed it a few times without giving it a scond though. Finally I has that second thought and clicked to watch the trailer (below), which got me to cast it (trailer) to the TV and ask Rosie if I should buy it.

She thought it looked cool too, so she told me to get it.

Although she still hasn't sat down to watch it, I haven't been able to stop watching it since that day I bought it - especially all of the amazing behind-the-scenes that come with it (over 2 hours), which even includes an amazing 10 minute tutorial from the Director on how to make your own (amazing) chocolate. He made the chocolate for the movie - the chocolate that becomes Alita's favorite food! :)

Okay, Weta Digital knocked it out of the park with this one, as did everyone else involved - and especially Rosa Salazar, the actress playing the entirely CG character: Alita. It doesn't take long before you don't even think of her as CG anymore except to be inspired at the perfection of the work - from script to direction to actress to translating performance capture to CG to... well everything.

The rather simple hairstyle is beautiful throughout. Her expressions are the best ever.

So after watching this I've been incredibly inspired to (finally) make my antagonist character, Rosie, some real Carrara dynamic hair and also practice even more heavily on making (or aspiring to) realistic facial acting. Hmmm... I'm going to watch this movie again right now!

Well, here. This is really cool because it's a bit different than the features you might get with DVD, BR and even digital. It's a bit more info in some respects and less in many, but it's a really nice feature about the "Performance Capture" WETA Digital went through to bring this "most ambitious CG character to date" to life. Really cool stuff!

I just finished "Stranger Things" season 3.  I'm a little conflicted about the whole series, which seemed to oscillate between a teen comedy, a horror/monster movie, and a parody of both.  I lean to the last, since the plots were pretty contrived and repetitive, and the characters were close to caricatures.  But some of the scenes in the mall were kind of interesting, and I recently got some nice models of a mall and its shops/kiosks.  There have been some pretty good stories in the old TV series like "Twilight Zone" and its many imitators, some set in the precursor of malls, department stores. E.g mannequins (which I also have) coming to life after hours, etc.  And the great Chaplin roller skating through a department store under repair ... blindfolded

Sure is a cram-packed tutorial! But fascinating.

I never suspected that you could do this kind of thing with Blender.
