That second one had to be the inspiration for part of the opening sequence of the great animated movie "The Triplets Of Balleville" - starting ~1:08:

Well, here. This is really cool because it's a bit different than the features you might get with DVD, BR and even digital. It's a bit more info in some respects and less in many, but it's a really nice feature about the "Performance Capture" WETA Digital went through to bring this "most ambitious CG character to date" to life. Really cool stuff!

Both evilproducer and Garstor were reluctant to watch Alita - Battle Angel.

When they both visited, I started showing Garstor the movie until evilproducer arrived, then we stopped it and began our three day meetup.

Well, the following evening Garstor, pumped up on the movie, recommended we finish watching the movie but, since evilproducer hadn't seen any of it, we'd have to start it from the beginning.

I know the feeling. I haven't been able to stop watching it for long since I bought it.

After watching it all the way through, both guys claimed that they were going to buy it when they got home! Good Freaking Movie - especially for inspiration about animating!

oh wow these video game cinematics, if only they made movies

    I would love those meshes

Yeah, I've seen that they (Game companies) hire some amazing Visual Effects houses to make their cinematic teasers. Check out Blur Studio on YouTube for one example. Whoever did the realistic cinematic teasers for some of the Mass Effect promos were truly stunning as well.

These are from the much older Mass Effect 2 game promo:

Celebrities that played roles in the game (Voice Acting)

Not a show, but an interesting photo story.

"What it’s like hanging out in the cramped alleyways and tiny bars of Tokyo’s Shinjuku district"

Speaking of belly dancing ... last night we saw "The Red Elvises" at the Mucky Duck in Houston.  One of their hits is "I Wanna See You Belldance":

Very cool, reminds me of the great series "The Wire" set in Baltimore.  Also, I saw the music credit for Harold Faltermeyer, who wrote one of the best synth songs ever, "Axel F", also for "Beverly Hills Cop":
