Here is an HD version of that 'Coursing' render I did. I have them alongside each other in my folder and I can flip between the 2 with the image viewer and see the differences.
I have to say, the HD version does look really nice
CHEERS!
That is awesome, when i get the $$ i need to invest into that HD stuff

It depends on the type of renders you want to do really, if you do portraits like mine then it could be worth it. If not, then probably not, you'd just be adding to your render times with no noticeable gain in quality.
Tis that special time of year that I should bring you Christmas cheer.
In three dimensions it shall be, a heartfelt gift for all to see
Santa comes late in the the night, cloaked in red, masked from our sight.
Toys he brings for girls and boys, wrapped in paper, full of joy.
So celebrate this time of year, by spreading renders with your peers.
Something goes awry with the ears when you use the M4 Skins Auto Converter, I don't know quite what it is, but I have put a post in a thread relating to issues with it. So, until he updates it, I suggest you go the DIY route with your M4 MAT files and load the texture onto M4 and save it as a Material preset. Everything loads fine when you do that.
The renders below show what the script does, what it should look like and lastly what the texture eventually can look like when you use the AoA SSS Base shader.
I used Andrea's IBL lights. Riley's skin looks better. I should change the hair because it is casting an ugly shadow on her face.
Next, I will render Riley in Luxus.
Ok, it's getting somewhere, but, seriously, you are going to have to look at your render settings and change them to what we've been using or similar. You can use whatever textures and lights you like, but, you have to have render settings that are capable of making everything look the way it ought to. The better the settings, the better the render.
Updating older textures with AoA SSS. I like how David came out, but I'm not sure I'm satisfied with Michael. I may have made the bump to strong.
Yeah, I can see what you mean, though it's only noticeable on his nose. I used settings from M6's standard texture which has a bump strength of 25%. The Bjorn HD texture used one of 45%. Some older textures, like Lee, don't like bright lights so you do have to turn some specular settings down a bit. The standard M6 texture has a Specular 2 strength of 25%, that was fine for Rob, but for Lee I turned it down to 10%.
To really see what Lux can do you'll need a larger size render than that.
CHEERS!
But if set a larger size, Luxus and 3Delight crash because they reach the 2 GB Windows XP limit. That is why most of my renders are around 512 x 600 pixels. Thanks for the tip though.
My renders aren't much larger, but, I only don't go bigger because, for the purposes of posting here, I find they're big enough. For you, I think it's time 3D took a back seat and you should concentrate on saving for a computer more capable of running the programs. Without the memory or graphics resources you'll forever find yourself hitting a wall pretty fast. I burned out the laptop previous to this one because I overstretched the resources it had. When I bought this one, I did more research on the specs I'd need to run graphics intensive programs. My machine was worth £1000 when it came out and I got it for just over half that a year later.
I thought I'd try out my new found knowledge (admittedly culled from that of others better than myself) of the SSS shader on V6 with a V4 texture, so, rather than go with my old cliche of Lana, I went with Marie instead. Her face is dial spun and certainly looks a lot better than some of the recent ethnic faces I've seen as new releases in the store. I wish there had been an Asian female Elite texture like Lee's was for M4....

Good luck!

...I was in a similar boat when I was still working with Studio 4 in 32 bit. Had to keep the render size down, the scene fairly simple, and avoid UE and ray tracing o else it was crash city.

I decided to see what an M4 Elite texture would look like on M6 with the AoA SSS shader.
I chose Rob and the results are below, I rather like him...
CHEERS!
Thank you, and forgot to mention that the clothings is an awesome freebie 'RP Saladina' from RPublishing at Renderosity.
Another one using the Yamaki rapture.
That is awesome, when i get the $$ i need to invest into that HD stuff
Riley for Stephanie 5
Shader rate of 0.30
Daz Studio/3Delight memory usage is 770 MB
I forgot to mention that this scene took 14 minutes to render because rendering Pen hair is slow.
Cool renders everyone most of my recent for the remake of an earlier story (when I sucked LOL) have nudity so besides the posted pics one needs to click on the D/A Links. Some of these are 3delight and PS postwrork http://fav.me/d6xsfbc http://fav.me/d6xsfbw http://fav.me/d6xsfc1 http://fav.me/d6xsfc5 http://fav.me/d6xsfcc http://fav.me/d6xsfck http://fav.me/d6xsfcw http://fav.me/d6xsffg http://fav.me/d6xsffy http://fav.me/d6xsfgb http://fav.me/d6xsfgm http://fav.me/d6xsfgx http://fav.me/d6xsfhs

There's still something missing, everything still looks a bit flat. Can anyone else put their finger on what might be missing here?
CHEERS!
They all look good to me.

After what happened with the Lee texture, I realised the same thing must have happened to Rob, so I redid him and he looks amazing!
CHEERS!
PS (Now to play with Project EYEris!)
I'll try another skin texture and another set of lights. I'll be back in an hour or three.
They might not make much difference if your render settings aren't up to par.

What kind of shaders are you using? Are you using the Subsurface Toon Shaders? Subsurface Toolbox? I don't think Age of Armor makes skin shaders.
Here is Riley in Luxrender:
Age of Armour made the subsurface shader base, which all the new Gen 2 figures use.
oh.. ok. I thought Genesis 2 used the Elite human surface shader. I thought the AoA shaders is used for something else. I learned something new.
edited for clarity.
In case anyone was wondering where I have been the past couple of hours: My computer has been rendering Riley in Luxrender.

No, I can't really see much difference either, LOL!
