Thanks for the comments, Rogerbee. I like Carrara for its possibility to render easily and quickly such scenes like with the candle,
but I will probably not use it for the scenes with human characters. It is too much effort to set them up correctly.
So far my preferences are like this:
Daz Studio, Poser and Vue for the scenes with people,
Carrara for special lights and effects,
Blender for simulations and for simple UV mapping of models.
I need to head over to the Cararra Cafe site and make a nuisance of myself there. I really like the programme overall (for one, it can import different file formats than Daz 4.6) and yes, the rendering is super fast when you have a good system to support it.
I need another lifetime, Daz, Carrara, modelling, surfacing and shader building, Reality/Lux...
..oh yeah, and PoserPro 2012. Most likely I'll have to continue doing my cloth dynamics there and there export back to Daz (though I do love the render Queue Manager)
I got Vue when I had PP2012 and was going to start doing full scenes. Then DSON hit and the rest is history. I really want them to develop Bryce 8 but that seems to have fallen by the wayside somewhat.
...that would make a great Noir Graphic Novel cover.
Thanks. I am actually working on one at the moment. It is going a bit slow though.I will work on it for a bit and then do something completely different before i get back to working on it.
I think that I will purchase Reality 4 - DAZ Studio Edition (LuxRender), but I will also buy a Video Graphic Card that can handle at lease 3 gigs along with A windows core 8 64bit operating system that can handle 32 gigs of Ram. This is what I need to handle DAZ Rendering, Bryce and Vue.
Still playing around with this style. Now i wasn't planning on keeping this dress i used on the last picture, but i kinda like it. not very practical though.
you was need load sneakers in scene twice and convert figure to prop (edit - figure - rigging - convert figure to prop), right and left visibility off (Hide Left and Hide Right in materials)on first and second.
then it would be much easier!

Very nice image, Softimage_Graphic_Artist. Keep them coming.

Now he tells me... !!!
ok, i think about that next time.
to response previous: i have dual 8 core with 32Gigs ram.
Nice speed.
For the moment i am working on and off, trying to extract a model from a game (if you play the game, you'll recognise the building i guess :) ).
Then i have to optimize the model, and tweeking the textures to make them work.
I know the creators of the game are allright with extracting the models for promotional reasons, but i thought it, they will let me distribute them for free here, so sorry...

Thanks I set some shinyness in reality settings. I have not tried 4 for myself yet. It's only $20.00 so I may brave it soon. Alot of ppl are using it successfully. It seems like alot of old R2 users are struggling with it. Few more. I have been on a rendering break for a while...

That looks good at least. Hope you're keeping well.
CHEERS!

Creating logos in Carrara is a fun, too. Below is an example render...
Nice!

Yes, I also would like to have Bryce updated, too, at least to 64 bit version, to be able to use all of the RAM.
Yes, that's exactly what they should do.
CHEERS!
...+1 on that.
Experimenting with 3D designer filter in http://www.daz3d.com/pd-howler-9-5-purely-ballistic-powered-by-project-dogwaffle
... Then I have exported the terrain as .obj and imported to Daz Studio 4.6 Pro.
Below is the Daz Studio render of the terrain with material from http://www.daz3d.com/rock-shader-for-daz-studio
Also used Gianni 6 and http://www.daz3d.com/mec4d-dragon-rider-for-genesis-2-male-s
Just something i did cause i am sitting here bored.

Dunno if this is qualified..
Or this...
...most definitely they do, and welcome.
Really like De Oude Eik Beautifully done.
hey! it's my sneakers! :-/
Yes !
And i love them !!
It was a bitch though to place them seperately in the scene :-)
Thx bdw.
