That is strange.  They should be transferring.

Thanks carrie58 ! That did the trick. At least for 2 out of 3 hair files I have tested.

  • Hi

I am having the same problem. No morphs.  Showing hidden properties reveal control morphs such as JCMs. Loading the original hair reveals many morphs that should be in the conversion, but are not. Hope you can help.

    Thank You

    Robin

Unless there's a solution to the problem outlined below, I blew $13 on a product that is now useless to me.

There is only one V4 hair in my collection that I have any interest in converting:  https://www.daz3d.com/violet-hair-for-v4

I tried loading it into your script and it couldn't find the hair's cr2 file.  It returned an error telling me no hair files could be found.

Your PDF says the converter needs a Charadcter or Hair directory in the path.  The Violet hair already has a default Character directory.  I tried creating a Hair directory and moved the hair there but no dice.  Trying to add the directtory path and/or cr2 file both report an error claiming no hair files were detected.

I examined the Options tab in your script and everything relevant is checked

So.  We know it works.  Good.  Now all I have to do is figure out what I'm doing wrong.

    Thank you.

First off, I apologize I took so long to answer.  For some reason, I am not getting notifications from this thread.  In this case, it sounds like you want to UNCHECK "Check Content Type" in the Options tab and then add the cr2 file directly using "Add Files".   When it is in the file list, select it, make sure it is checked, and click Convert.  If convert doesn't work, use Force Convert the same way.

I am sorry you are having problems Robin.  Just to be safe, could you please check your authorship information?  @dkgoose had weird symbols in his when he upgraded and couldn't save morphs at all.

I like this converter so much, and I have a lot of V4 hair accumulated over the years, so I want to convert them all.

Thanks carrie58 ! That did the trick. At least for 2 out of 3 hair files I have tested.

It seems like not all morphs are transferred. I also think they shouldn't be in the "hidden" section at all.. My old eyes hate reading grey on grey.

    The authorship information is alright.

It's a pity as I am a big fan of the RSSY converters and I was really waiting for this one... sigh...

I  think that  the problem with the morphs being "Hidden" is how they were originally made for Poser , and there isn't anything RiverSoftArt or SickleYield can do to change that , I agree they are hard to read the way they are.

just discovered that if you go into the "Parameter "setting and uncheck  Hidden " then they are much easier to see ,plus it you turn limits on and change the numaric amout to 100.0% it reacts better in DS too when you 've done that to all the morphs you want or before you shut down just save as"save modified assets"

Would it be worth picking this up if I already have SY’s V4/M4 clones for Gen8? So far, all the V4 items I’ve tried to autofit to G8 using the clones have worked pretty well, and I don’t really have a whole lot of Gen4 items to worry about, so maybe I’m answering my own question...

This converter is for Hair ,I've got most of the other auto fit /clone things out there but I also have been getting theRSSy Hair/Clothing converters ,love the extra adjustment the clothing converters add to the clothes. If you don't have alot of V4 M4 clothing well now you cold get more !!laugh

The script is telling the Transfer Utility to transfer ALL morphs so I am unsure what I can do about this one.

It does sound like you answered your own question smiley  If you are happy with Autofit and you don't have a lot of V4 items, it wouldn't seem to make sense.

Don't know if it is related but I was using M4 Midnight Hunter the other night and I found I had to turn off limits and really yank up the numbers before seeing any movement in the back flap of the trench coat - or any of the transfered morphs. Maybe the morphs need to be x10 or x100 strength to see the movement that the original has? And maybe the morphs are there but only appear to be not working. (Don't like the Grey on Grey either but nothig you can do about that)

It could be that again the morphs were made for use in Poser .... try  opening one of the morph settings and check the "Limits" if it is un checked and the number value is 1000000.0% ,you will have very little action until you get into high numbers ,what I have been doing is turn the limits on and change the Positive value to 100.0% and the negative to -0.0% and test the movement if I like it I save it as a modified asset . If you don't like the grey on grey uncheck Hidden ,and then the morphs will show up.Again remember to saveas a modified asset

I have applied iray silver material only to the coils.
