Too many options, too many impacts, and doesn't appear to be working. Testing the cart, as usual.
$10 off if buy 2 horse items- fine.
The Griffin Wings are $14.95 no sale price, is full
The Unicorn is $11.95 same
I put two new releases in the cart, and of course, those are in addition to having two of the horse products.
Those total 26.90 and got changed to 0.00 and 4.73.
If the horse category is 20% off today, the original prices would be 26.90 x .80= 21.52 then additional 14% for buying two new releases is 3.01 is $18.51. Then 10.00 off should be 8.81 so how am I getting $4.73?
(They are not new releases so the buy1 get 30%, buy 2 get 40% does NOT apply. They are a separate promo. Not new products.)
And btw, it says buy any 2 new releases and get 50% off these artists stores- and it does NOT say excludes those new releases (and it should, if they are excluded. DAZ usually states that.) Or are they supposed to be included?
I'm still muddling around trying to figure this out.

Digital Lite Design has weird discounts- 9% since 1:15am this morning. What's the deal with that?
And the 14% ENTIRE STORE is not applying to new releases. They have to be included if it is not stated. (EDIT- they are applying to the promotion new releases, as shown in the first post- but NOT the new releases that I tested from the promo stores.)

Regarding the Horse Sale, it looks to me as though the $10 off is per item, and that this is taken off before the percentage reductions. This would also mean that anything under $10 you get for free!

If you take 20% and 14% that is 34% and 34% x 26.90 is 9.15 off
26.90 -9.15= 17.75 minus 10.00 off is 7.75
So I'm still not coming up with 4.73
I'm doing screenshots and buying what I want and then they have to either honor the screenshots, explain the prices, and/or give me a refund if I am not getting the discounts that the screenshots say I should. Whether they have a no refund policy or not, misleading or confusing advertising isn't cool. DAZ has always been very supportive (Britney rocks) so I'm not worried.
It says 14% entire store. It did take it off the new releases on the front page, there is nothing saying new releases are not included storewide, SO those in the 50% stores have to be included also. Marketing is messed up- and this is all too confusing for a typical person who wants easy shopping. I've invested half an hour testing things and nothing is making sense. (Not complaining about getting more of a discount than it appears I should, but then not getting ANY discounts when I should is irksome.)
Or I just might not buy anything other than the two new products and two horse products and DAZ loses money. Sadly, so do the vendors.
These sales today are so complicated, I'm just running the other way. Who can make any sense out of all these offers at the same time?

My thinking was as follows:
$26.90 - $20 = $6.90 ($10 per item)
$6.90 x 80% x 86% (20% and 14% off respectively) = $4.74 (close!) >:(
First ... you have more patience than I do, Novica. If a sale isn't clear in what is on sale and how to acquire it, I ignore it. All these, "Buy 2 of these, get X% off this other stuff, unless it was released too recently, and this sale does stack with this other offer, but not with this one..." Forget it. :P
Second ... I have to say I was REALLY disappointed not to see any horse items in the primary category for a sale that is promoted as being for "The Year of the Horse".

Not working- I put the Pegasus Drama (13.95 full price) in cart and it gave me 6.18
(So my head hurts, it's 20% horse category, 14% entire store, so 34% off is 4.74 is 9.21 but then you figure in the 10.00 if for all items... and that now seems how it is working because....
The other two items went to 6.61 and 6.18 so adding the third one wonked them higher
There is no 20% off horse category. Where are you getting that from? It's $10 off the horse category if you purchase 2 new releases.
I've been testing the rules and they seem to be working on my end. I'll test some more, but keep in mind there is no 20% off the horse category. (At least that I am aware of, and I've poured over the Sales and Promo page).

All of the sales today are based on buying 2 new releases. If you don't have new releases in your cart, you won't get the sale prices.
Jared, read the red banner at the top of the promotions page. Today only, extra 20% off horse stuff . Still need 2 new releases though.
The popup banner is weird too, it gave me 45% off the glute control for genesis 2, then the price changed in my cart and that discount went poof. I was seeing green popups, it changed off the glute onto something else, now the green popups are gone- how do I get the stupid things back????

The glute control was a limited time (like 2 hours). That is over now. There isn't a way to get that discount.

If I had my choice I'd spend the majority of my day in the forums. Right now they have me working on a couple of projects that keep me pretty busy.

Jared, don't feel bad about not seeing the 20%, that entire page is a LOT to digest. I have to keep scrolling to understand it. It's like the transitive theory of math, if this then that and that then what, so this is what. (LOL- bad pun. "This is what????" said in confusion)

Since you have 2 New Releases in your cart you get 20% off the Horse Category + 14% off the Entire Store (which stack) plus $10.00 off the horse category.
The original price was 39.95 * .8 = 31.96
31.96 * .86 = 27.49
27.49-10 = 17.49

I've run the numbers and this price of 4.73 for the two horse items (one being free and the other being 4.73) is correct. It is because SickleYield is also on a 50% sale. So with that stacking and the way Magento splits the $10.00 off the pricing is correct. You aren't going to see those products cheaper any time soon, so now would be a good time to pick them up.
Aaaaah, thank you, Jared - I think I understand it now. I just tried adding another item at original price 19.95 and the price for the first one went up to 20.82 with the second at 10.39, so total full price = 59.90 * 0.8 = 47.92 * 0.86 = 41.21 - $10 = 31.21 which is exactly what I'm seeing.
I got confused by earlier talk in this thread that the $10 seemed to be coming off each item so I assumed that was removed before the percentages were applied and that gave a completely different result to what I was seeing in my cart.
Jared, why is Sickleyield on 50% sale? I'm not seeing that information anywhere and her store appears at full price when I look at it?
Ah this explains why the SY item in my cart is not working out at what I think it should be... but I don't see any evidence that SY's store is on sale apart from the weird calculation.

If you accidentally dismiss one of these Insta-Offers you can find it by going to My Account -> Messages then click on the "$ Exclusive Offers" button. If its still valid it will be there ... as far as I can work out.
