BRYCE RENDER CHALLENGE ►►►Spring Edition◄◄◄ Theme is ☼♪♫♪☼ SPRINGTIME ☼♪♫♪☼
Eighth DAZ 3D Bryce rendering Challenge
___________________________________________
NOW SPONSORED BY DAZ 3D
Theme for this month is "SPRINGTIME"
ɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚɚ
As Trish said, we have had frozen and we have had rain, so let's lighten things up and have Springtime. Feel free to use imports and postwork is allowed but not so that it dominates your image. Ok, Bryce away!
This thread is the WIP thread, so you can post here to show us how things are coming along before the render is transferred to the actual Contest thread for judging. You don't have to do that. I collect up all the finished ones and make the thread, with each render given a number and title, but no artist name shown.
Rules
~~~~~
All renders must be new renders.
You can enter up to 3 renders.
You must abide by the DAZ 3D forum TOS
Imported content is allowed, but the render must be obviously a Bryce render.
Post Work permitted, but please keep it to a minimum.
Rules may be changed for subsequent Challenges, depending on the theme and the person who has selected it.
The winner of the Challenge will get the chance to name the theme for the next contest.
This will then continue with subsequent winners choosing the theme for the next contest, which will enable a new contest to start with the minimum of delay between contests.
Whoever nominates the subject for the Challenge can modify the rules to suit that challenge.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Challenge ends on 30th April :- Midnight DAZ 3D time.

DAZ 3D Sponsorship, in the form of Store credit
Ist Place $30
2nd Place $20
3rd place $15
In addition DAZ 3D Store Credit will be given to the people whose renders are selected as the Honourable mentions,

Judged by members of the DAZ 3D CV team and guest judges.
By entering this contest, you agree to allow DAZ3D to use any artwork you submit in any promotional materials they may choose.

This will be fun - Very apropiate too, The Dogwoods and Periwinkles in my yard started blooming today...
Work in progress:
Spring has Sprung
hahahha! When I saw the theme, I thought "I should totally render something with a spring in it and no plants just to be silly" to myself, then scrolled down and saw your render and nearly bust a gut laughing. Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks of these things. Your render was far more springy than my thought though!
I have to admit when I saw Trish's theme my mind went back to one I did a year or so ago for a Spring contest.
Spring Fairy
Ouch!
Ouch!
Yes alternative take off system didn't work well on a beta test. lol
Dave- nice, unusual idea for the challenge.
Lovely work Chohole. Was it an animation?
No just the 3 renders I posted here. Animation is not my thing, although I guess it could be possible with the morphing spring that I used.
@Dave - that's a super-cool idea.
@Pam - a really sweet springy spring idea.
Count on me for this challenge, my next picture is a spring one. Excellent idea from you Savage and a very nice fairy renders Chohole. Good luck to everyone.
@Dave: A very lighthearted idea for the theme.
@Pam: Someone could say that is an accelerated method of take off. It's very cute.
I've an idea but have yet put fingers to keyboard. Or mouse.
My first entry called.....Spring Evening......
Pam: really springy girl or fairy I should say
Dave: looks like that was a fun render.....Trish
@Trish - that's a very nice spring scene.
It is indeed. The first official day of spring over here has turned out to be cold and wet.
Nice one, Trish...would love just to chill out there..glass of wine in hand...aaaaah :coolsmile:
As for Cholole's and Dave's attempt at Spring...I would never sink that low to upload such rubbish on this 'serious' >:-( theme. I mean I've never even think of submitting the below work....ooooppps ;)
Jay
Horo: Thank you
Pam: Thanks....: Hopefully your weather will improve soon
Jay:Thank you... That's what I am missing wine.... Is that a spring sale in the making....
@Trish: What a lovely scene you created.
@Jay: What can I say, but you're keeping to the spirit of Spring in one way. Nice job.
Thank you Jamie...looking forward to your scene....
Trish: Very peaceful there... Great.
Jay: I once had a business making yachts in my attic... Sails were going through the roof. :-)
Another work in progress... This time a bit more serious, life is retuning to the countryside.
Title: Spring Greening
@Jay - well, this is not completely off topic. We have a lot of spring sales, even here.
@Dave - looks very natural. Is this an xfrog tree at left?
Here's my first entry. It isn't difficult to figure out that I was inspired by David's video.
Title: Spring Evoking
Object used: Genesis 2, exported from DS 4.6.
Bryce 7.1 Pro, HDRI PfynJungle2 that comes with Bryce.
Dave: really super scene
Horo: nice garden sculpture
Thanks Trish.
Indeed it is Horo. It is the Downy Oak from X-Frog.
Nice treatment of the figure in your render.
@Trish - thank you. That's not meant to be a garden sculpture but rather a fairy evoking spring - well, at least that was my idea.
@Dave - thank you.
@Trish: I hope I get something entered. So far I can't seem to come up with much.
@Dave: Sails through the roof. Sheeeeeeeesh.... Were it me I'd call that image done and stick a fork in it. It's a lovely scene, very reminiscent of a new season.
@Horo: I have to try that video of David's. The look of that figure is exceptional. And it fits in well with the chosen HDRI.
Wow, beautiful (and funny) Pictures from you all :-)
Chohole: what a funny Idea. *ggg*
So I'll show my first entry here: An Angel's kiss in spring.
Good Luck to you all :-)
@yellow Pen - fantastic idea and superbly done.
@yellow Pen: What a charming scene you've created.
thank you Horo and Nemo :-)
Savage: *ggggggggggg* Funny Idea.
Bullit: really beautiful. I love the Light.
Jamahoney: what a crazy Idea lol
Savage: what can I say - really beautiful :-)
Horo: as expected, excellent. Even the Light and the Mat. :-)

...hahaa...good one Savage.Guss...I’m a bit like you, too – the usual spring(y) things (blue skies, green meadows, animals....nature all...etc.,) spring (pardon the pun ;) ) to mind, so will have to give the old grey cells an extra kick soon. But that said, I’ve had problems with all the other themes, too. The only advantage with the changing themes, I guess, is that they force one into looking at other areas of Bryce not used.
yellow Pen...ooooh, I like that, very unusual, and those wings are to die for.
Jay
@Jay: Oh, I have been kicking an idea around, not that it'd normally be recognized as spring. But as with the other themes, it'll only take a bit of this or that before an idea will bowl me over.
