    What is an umlaut?

A sound change where a vowel was modified to conform more closely to the vowel in the next syllable.

A pair of dots (¨) above a vowel, used in various languages; originally used to indicate vowels resulting from Germanic umlaut.

Umlaut. (2014, April 3). In Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. Retrieved 02:21, April 10, 2014, from http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Umlaut&oldid=602588248

The diaeresis ... or umlaut is a diacritic that consists of two dots ( ¨ ) placed over a letter, most commonly a vowel... The diaeresis and the umlaut are diacritics marking two distinct phonological phenomena.

Diaeresis (diacritic). (2014, March 5). In Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. Retrieved 02:18, April 10, 2014, from http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Diaeresis_(diacritic)&oldid=598263184

    um·laut [oom-lout]
    noun
    1. a mark (¨) used as a diacritic over a vowel, as ä, ö, ü, to indicate a vowel sound different from that of the letter without the diacritic, especially as so used in German. Compare dieresis.
    2. Also called vowel mutation. (in Germanic languages) assimilation in which a vowel is influenced by a following vowel or semivowel.

    umlaut. (n.d.). Dictionary.com Unabridged. Retrieved April 09, 2014, from Dictionary.com website: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/umlaut

The rest of the explanation is more techincal.

edit: then the question becomes: what is a diacritic?

    di·a·crit·ic [dahy-uh-krit-ik]

    noun
    1. Also called diacritical mark. a mark, point, or sign added or attached to a letter or character to distinguish it from another of similar form, to give it a particular phonetic value, to indicate stress, etc., as a cedilla, tilde, circumflex, or macron.

    diacritic. (n.d.). Dictionary.com Unabridged. Retrieved April 09, 2014, from Dictionary.com website: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/diacritic

That was pretty cool! At first I thought it was a cover band...they are all so young. Then I realized that some of them are Young. And Angus. Then I read the write-up and realized it was a long, long time ago, in a land far away. :)

I am thinking of installing Send in the Clones Pro for DS4.6 as I doubt it is installed by DIM. I think it would make things easier but I just know if I do too many the system crashes.

I already bought it so that is not the issue. I think it can do more than instances can, not sure.

Was it a waste to get Send in the Clones Pro?

Edit: I got in in October so I cannot return it now.

sometimes it is more useful to clone than it is to instance, for example a clone might have to morph into something else but an instance can't :)
