You do know that a UPS is meant to to be used inline as a back up for power loss so you have time to save your work while the UPS is active and was never designed to run your PC as the only power input don't you? Running your PC on a UPS that is charging out (getting low) is a very good way to damage your chips, they expect a steady current flow, your chips, and a Beeping (Alarming) UPS is not in steady state any longer.

That was my reaction. Mine doesn't make any noise except the click when it kicks in or clamps down a spike. The only other noise it makes is when the power goes out and it starts beeping. I have an inexpensive APC UPS downstairs that the router and modem and Diane's computer is running off and that never makes any noise, either.

Is it an APC? Or maybe one of those Geek Squad ones? I'm not impressed with Geek Squad stuff. APC is the best. But I didn't think any of them made whining noises.

Maybe you have too much load on it. In other words, your computer equipment draws more power than it's rated for.

The battery could be done. Batteries don't last forever. APC units have replaceable batteries. You have to get them from the manufacturer, but it's easy enough. And they take the old one back to recycle it properly. You can check to see if hp does the same. It should have an indicator on it that shows you the battery needs replacement. If not, it probably is not user replaceable.

    ...I know.

I often use that when discussing how we do things and often go overboard about them compared to the rest of the world, even when it comes to something simple like brewing.

Actually we out here in the Northwest are almost forgotten about many times (almost making us feel like a foreign nation) because of that big state to the south of us where they make films, television programmes, and all sorts of news headlines.

Well, the Great Northwest is the home of one of the best known software companies in the world...Microsoft. I'd love to visit the area some day. Wouldn't want to live there, though.

...believe me, they (MS) are not as great as their PR dept makes them out to be. Can't go into any more detail as it would step across political TOS.

do you need send clones? ds haz the instances?

rain is nice for the pear tree and the keets?

...the difference between instancing and SITC is that all the clones created are independent from one another therefore (in the case of characters) you can use different clothing, hair, and poses for each individual one.

...interesting. I thought the only time one made noise was when it was "tripped" due to a power outage.

    BTW, that is really nice

...been away from the computer all day and had a bit of catching up to do.

Still no good news on the job front. All the referral emails I get are beginning to look the same with the same positions listed. Lately it also seems that more and more of the positions I see are out of town, that's no help. The few emails in response to my LinkedIn and Monster profiles tend to primarily be for commission sales positions (insurance and real estate). Nowhere on my resumes or in my profiles does it mention I ever had any experience in sales work in either field and I mention I do not have a drivers licence (usually a requirement for real such positions).

After a year of this it is all becoming a bit discouraging.

I think maybe I need to start working on some pics again, maybe that will lift my spirits a bit. Haven't really been doing much the last couple months.

At least on the sporting front things are a bit better as my Milwaukee Brewers completed back to back road series sweeps of both the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.

I rigged a chair to use aniblocks by giving my nodes the same names as Daz figures.
I have done this before in carrara but this time I used Joint editor to make bones and the weight brush to paint them in Daz studio so others can use it.
