You are very welcome guys :)

Also, @barbult : check the cap and make sure smoothing is on 2 and the subd level should really be set to base resolution.  I think some have gone through with high resolution which can also cause the black dots.

I just checked this, and the cap smoothing is Enabled and at Base Shape Matching 2 and at Base resolution, so the product was delivered as you intended. The black dots happen with lots of hair products, and especially on HD characters. This problem is not unique to Neroli Hair. I've used Mesh Grabber to make a morph to push the forehead out a little, which solves the problem for me.

… I have to keep 'info' tab up and read the code line, stressing out my eyes. Another issue is materials not identified, and dumped by Daz into one folder, 3DL and Iray in one glop, and unless you read the code line, no idea if you are grabbing the right one. And Smart Content metadata is set up by Daz.

As you said, meta data to support Smart Content is set up by Daz. It's coded to put presets in categories that match the categories that Smart Content uses, not the organization the PAs have set up. I have the layout of DS set so Smart Content is in the column on the right, and Content Library is in the column on the left. When I'm looking at the presets in Smart Content and see multiples of the same icon, I just right click on one and select Show Asset in > Content Library > Mapped Folder. The mapped folder will be located under the figure the hair is for.

As a side benefit, I've become very familiar and comfortable with the Content Library. That's a good thing, because a lot of the really old products I own don't have meta data at all, and never show up on the Smart Content tab.

I agree that any product with identical presets to load on multiple figures, whether it's multi-generation or simply both genders of the same generation, should include an identifier in the text name or on the image itself. (My preference is in the text name.) I frequently disable the Filter By Context option in Smart Content, especially for hair.

Thanks for checking that and posting your findings. :)

I'm awake and decided not to go to the barn. There's an active tornado warning to the north- northwest of us already (not real close, about an hour driving time.) Since tornadoes are already spinning up, I'm staying put at home. Hang in there Louisiana, Hurricane Zeta is only 1mph off of being a Category 3. Roaring in at 110mph. (And who says they're 100% correct, or what difference ONE mph makes? It's devastating.)

Dang it, tornado going to go over the barn at 6:45pm-ish. SEVEN waterspouts coming ashore over by Mobile. One (eighth) is already a tornado. Getting bad.

It passed about seven minutes to the west of here, unfortunately straight down highway 90 which is the main four lane highway, aka Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot right there. My neighbor Candy is going to monitor ABC and I have CBS   :)    Can't reach the barn owner but I think it went slightly west, only by a minute or two. :(    For now, I'm fine. If we get clearing in-between bands I may go to the barn.  Edit- been 20+ minutes and can't reach the barn owner. Not like her to not text back, we were texting before the tornado hit. :(   Will keep you posted when I know something. Don't worry, I am not headed out into any serious weather. It's light rain at the moment and bands are predictable. Barn is only 18 minutes away, plenty of time to get there and get back if I go.

Power went out, no internet. So going to work offline for most the night so I don't use up a lot of my iphone data. :)  All's good here, wind was roaring in back yard and pulsing as usual. If you've never been in a hurricane or strong tropical storm, it's like a living thing that moves in on you and leaves, circles around and then comes at you again. Oftentimes, it's not a steady roar. The pulsing is kinda creepy when you hear it coming back around at you if the winds are in the stronger range.

Hurricane Zeta is zipping right along, just like they said she would. Everyone north of me stay safe, going to be a long night as a lot of the southeastern coast is going to get involved.

Thanks for the update. You are getting more than your share this year. We've been luckier than usual so far on the east coast of the state.

Back on for a second. Here's what's going on right now even after Zeta has "moved on."  It's 11:35am and Zeta is in the middle of the country.
Wind SSW 25 mph       Wind Gusts 67 mph     Probability of Precipitation100%    Probability of Thunderstorms 60%    Precipitation1.18 in

I actually have my windows open for the cats to enjoy the breeze blowing through the house. They're in the window loving every minute of it. There's a rustling, balmy roar LOL. Frankly, folks wouldn't be able to hear a tornado in these conditions, because when the wind pulses around it has a low, rumbling sound like an approaching tornado.

BTW when does this sale end and the next one begin? Is it at the end of the month or does this one extended like most of them are?

I'm glad you came through the height of the storm OK. I assume your Mom is OK, too?

I don't know, but does any sale NOT extend? Somebody who keeps track of sale history could answer better than I. It seems like sales always start on Mondays, so I don't expect a change before then at least. Changes are afoot, I think Jack said. I imagine it is the advent of the "new store". Things have been strange the last couple days with only two new releases and no change in PC for a day items today.

I've done some more experimentation with Neroli hair after chevybabe25's tips for overcoming the sparse hair area. Those tips helped a lot. Thank you, @chevybabe25 for participating in this discussion and helping get the best from your hair product!

I settled on PS Hairs (Per Guide) of 12 and PS Hair Distribution Radius of 0.95 for my experiments. Until we get an improved hair cap in an update, I've set the Neroli hair cap to not visible in render and added another hair cap from another product to be visible in render but not visible in simulation. This is working well for me. I'm much happier with Neroli Hair with these changes.

I appreciate that hair color can be changed without disturbing dForce settings and vice versa. Some products I've purchased lately wipe out dForce settings when applying a material that should only change color or pattern; this product does it right and makes those changes independent.

We need to keep in mind that this is a PC+ product and priced accordingly. Because of the current PC+ sale, the price is extraordinarily good for a dForce hair product for both G3F and G8F. The fact that chevybabe25 is responsive to our concerns and is responding with suggestions and a pending update is also extraordinary customer service from a PA who sold this product off to Daz.

Here are my experiments with the three options for simulation settings (default, more, and most). I like the "more" setting the best for this character and pose.

    Default

    More

    Most

Here is my experiment with adding some of the provided morphs to the dForce hair. I used Hair Long, hair Bend Back, Right2Out, Volume Top Right Smaller, and Wind Left. The color is one of the Ebony settings with Black Tips. Without the Black Tips, the ends looked kind of washed out and gray.

    @barbult   Those look really nice!

Just went out and checked, and dang it, the gate (brand new this past spring) broke again. Even with garbage cans against it and a fountain, it still blew them aside and open! This time though, the metal staked side (where you put the stake in a hole in the ground to anchor it) did not blow open. So maybe just the latch has to be replaced again. Sigh. This time I thought I had it licked since we were changed to only a 45 mph gust scenario. (Yeah that's why currently we're getting 67mph gusts.)

So just heard on the weather radio- the bands will be though here in another hour and a half.  I'm going to enjoy the dwindling roar but continual balmy breezes coming through the windows even though we're still under a tropical storm warning. (There's still four waterspouts from Pensacola Beach to Ft Walton. Surf is currently 9 feet.)

I'm doing some tests on fonts and so taking advantage of not having to be online. I made sure to download all of them the past two days, with Hurricane Zeta coming in I knew internet would POOF!   I'll post a graphic showing you some of the fonts when I get them done. :)  These will be the free ones from Font Squirrel.

WHOA, be sure and make a duplicate cart before you check out. Mine went from $11.94 to $195 as I went into Paypal!!!!!!!  Thank god I caught it right when I was about to hit the button!  Having that other open tab with the cart in it would have been handy for a support ticket.

And I was trying to test that bundle for today, and it won't go in the cart at all.

They're working on it. Cris said prices on the site could get "wonky", too.

Glad to hear you are safe and well! (What a terrible year it's been over there.)

The PC Anniversary sale has typically lasted for 5 weeks (from a Monday in October to a Sunday in November) for that last 5 years (I don't have records before that) - on that basis I would expect it to end on November 8th, but of course these things can be unpredictable...

Glad the hurricane conditions and damage to your place was mild. ALso, love your new avatar. I keep getting behind on this thread; for some reason it stops notifying me even after a visit and then I have to unclick and reclick the star to get them again. Not the worse problem to have, just a minor irritant.

Tip for re-picking up threads when notifications go missing:

Go through 'My bookmarks' from the settings gear on the forum pages, active threads sort to the top and you can click on the thread there and receive notifications again without the unclick-reclick shuffle.

The WD EasyStore external hard drive (which is what I've used for years, not to be confused with the Passport from WD) is on Black Friday deals already from Best Buy. In case you're interested. Note the reviews.

Novica, glad that you came through the latest challenge of 2020. I caught up on forum posts late last night, after a day on my laptop, working on metadata for old products. Buying things in the sale, but not using for days.

And went to MicroCenter and bought a cooling pad for the laptop. I wear them out.

Woo Woo, I got 2 of Slosh's 4 New Orleans French Quarters today on sale for 59% off. I spent the last 4 days "baby sitting" a man that had heart surgery done so I missed some sales. I also in those 4 days cleaned up his yard and got to load and unload 4 pickup trucks full of cut trunk logs in two 8 hours days of hard work and climbed 10 - 15 feet up in trees and cut down branches from 3 trees. I completely surprised myself that I had that much stamina. I had to stop after 2 days though as the tropical storm came through but lucky the eye was about 150 miles to the east. One of my cousins further south in north Georgia still has no power. And in the last bit of good news the 4 Indian Ringnecks I adopted in July were taken back by their owner after she recovered from her surgery but not before they did about $450 worth of damage to my couch and house.

I'm not volunteering to go clean up after those hurricanes though. They'll go through lots of money and use lots expensive automated equipment to clean that mess anyway so no need to fret.frownlaugh

Have a good Halloween & weekend.

@nonesuch00  You be careful cutting tree limbs!  surprise  Yeah, Georgia is going to be out of power for several days, but those electric crews simply amaze me. Glad to hear about the birds, but not about your couch LOL.

I'm still working on fonts, installing and doing a sample sheet sheet for comparison. I'll post them when I get done. I'm only in the E's at the moment.

I figured it out, and only bought the items I wanted from the bundle. Even after the banner discount of 60%, I would have spent $15 on things I really didn't want. I still got 70% off. Buying the OTHER bundle (to help men) only took the discount to 76% I think. I'm tired of messing around trying to get the best deal, this past month has been ridiculous with so many factors in play, it makes me spend less time shopping. There's so many sales coming up, I'm not really looking too deep into complicated ones. I'd say I'm just in a "funky mood" but if it's a mood, it's been going on all month!

@barbult   Yeah, that's part of the problem too. When I go to the pages, there's not much there except very old content (varies from Genesis, Genesis 2, some Genesis 3.)  I LOVE those prices you got!!!! Great shopping!  The Tattered Kiplenut looks like that will be fun, I picked that up too. :)

No worries. I actually insisted on using a camping brush saw like you buy in the camping section at Walmart instead of their chainsaw. Call me chicken but I treat all tools like I'm afraid of them and usually refuse to use power tools unless the time differential is huge or the safety features win my trust. What will never win my trust is me standing near the top rung of an extended ladder, I was shaking so much the ladder looked like it was made of Jello but the work finally got done (no more branches in trees but there are fallen tree trunks and plenty of fallen branches but all on the ground).

I bought 101 Expression Library with Dials for the Genesis 8 Female because I felt the PA did a trememdous amount of painstaking work but haven't tried it yet.

Have any of you bought the corresponding 101 Expression Library with Dials for the Genesis 8 Male? No need to do renders but do you like the product?

@nonesuch00   Nope, haven't bought it. Looks really worthwhile though, since you can do the sliders and mix expressions.
