I would generally welcome a fairy character. But I am surprisingly underwhelmed. OK, at this point I don't expect interesting items for the bundles any more.

But Giselle herself doesn't convince me either.
So it's another pale white girl. OK. With dark eyebrows again. OK. So I guess the texture is forgettable, except, maybe, the makeup which I almost never use.
And her body kind of seems to lack detail compared to the other Gen6 characters. Hadn't I known better, I would have assumed she is a Gen 5 character. Her hands appear to be out of proportion, too. And her face unfortunately reminds me of Stephanie 5 :/

    Overall, I'm not sold.

I like Zyra, though. Her burst is absolutely fearsome, and her root, ulti and plants give her quite a bit of utility, too.

That's because Giselle is a Fantasy/Sci-Fi character, not the usual "Real World" shapes we've been getting since G2's launch (with the exception of Girl, of course). Specifically, Giselle is a fae-type fantasy female and fairies are never known for their realistic proportions. Giselle was clearly made to resemble the type of fair like the statuette ones you see in nic-nac stores. Come over here to Massachusetts sometime and take a trip up to Salem, you'll see endless varieties of statuettes in the magic shops that practically look just like Giselle in every way. :)

I just don't see this character as being a 'sci-fi' character. She seems pretty heavily marketed for the fairy niche. Is there some sci-fi aspect I'm missing her? =-)

Here's what is weird - I'm not really one for the fairy/cutesy type art. (Although for some reason my inner girly comes out to play when I have a Silver character/outfit LOL) So I fully expected to dislike Giselle, or at least, not be in the slightest interested in her.

So someone tell me why I am salivating over all these things???

The Silver/Countess/Demonica characters are instant buys - the two Artemis characters..omg I so NEED those....that spectacular dress Wicked Dress by Xena - holy cow I MUST have. And to top it off.....Diane's Ballerina poses. I'm not interested in ballet/ballerinaas at ALL...but I'm looking at some of those poses and instantly seeing weird, wicked, twisted characters using them.

*groan* please please tell me I will actually have the money to buy Giselle. *sob*

Btw, am wondering if Thorne had anything to do with Giselle? Cos I look at her and I instantly see THORNE's hand in her. :D :D

I can definitely see sci fi in her. With the right skin texture...I can see her as an ethereal part-alien type sci fi setting. I think it was one of Sedor's poses on the front page....in a superhero type outfit with fire hair and glowy eyes?? I can honestly see GIselle in a sci fi setting.

    Greetings,
If I felt argumentative, I could make a strong case for low-gravity causing the same kind of slender slightly elongated limb effect as fey have. There's also the Aeon Flux kind of character... (She also reminds me of Rikku from FFX-2.)

But ultimately, she's designed just a little slender of 'normal', and that works in a lot of different styles to me. I like it. The comparison next to Olympia was great...

So can I actually I can see her in all sorts of scenarios I find it strange that in an art community people have trouble seeing beyond the promos and advertising.
Any way she's in the store, I'm a bit confused by the pricing on the Wicked bundle its more expensive to buy the bundle than the individual items.

I've learnt NEVER to buy as soon as big promotions like this hit the store - there is ALWAYS a pricing glitch somewhere. I generally wait until the next morning to buy - "next morning" being because of my timezone..as in, it's 4.37pm Wed here for me, DAZ releases for big promos generally hit around 4-4.30pm for me, but it may be night or early morning in the States, I haven't a clue. But yeah, I always wait till tomorrow my time for the pricing glitches to sort themselves out.

    Greetings,
Can anyone tell me what the outfit (tiny chains with quarter-sized circles over the unshowable parts) Giselle is wearing in the basic set?

[Edit: Found it. Heroine Fantasy Armour, part of the Heroine Bundle by Predatron and Diane.]

Same here. I'm not really interested in doing fairy renders much, but I can see a lot of uses for Giselle. And definitely for some sci-fi aliens. I think she would be a good base to modify with the other morphs I have. I think she's a really cute figure. And now that I have Zev0's Skin Builder, it doesn't really matter to me what kind of skin she has; I can give her whatever color I want.

I think at least one of Gianni's outfits should have had stiletto heels.

This raises the question of which UV does her base and the add on characters use?

Curious about that too. Was just asking in another thread how many of the Genesis 2 characters have their own UV sets. I do know that USUALLY Silver in particular uses the Gen2 base UV and I have used her skin textures for some of the Gen2 characters on just Gen2 itself, without having that particular character. I think Artemis does the same too - does skin textures off the Gen2 base uv I mean.

    Anyone know about Giselle?

We have started putting the UV requirement in the "Whats included and Features" tab near the bottom so it looks like this:

    Textures Include:

    35 Texture, Bump and Specular Maps (4000 x 4000)
    15 Texture, Bump and Transparency Maps (2048 x 2048)
This product uses the Genesis 2 Female Base UV Maps

But yes I always use the Base UV for G2F/M for most compatability. I know Fred & Sabby use V5 for most of theirs and Artemis uses G2F Base for most of hers, but start checking at the bottom of the pages it might be there on some things :D

Yep, Fred and my offering use V5 UVs so her skin will work on any G2F.. and G1 if you own V5 for that matter

Is the Wicked Queen bundle supposed to have something else in it? Because the prices don't add up. $16.95 + $13.95 does not even equal $36.96, let alone have the bundle price offer some level of discount.

Either that or the base Wicked Queen products are supposed to be priced higher.

i not into all the fairy stuff but really like the characters and hair, and some of the clothes, i'm gonna try for the pro bundle but for the hell of it i'm gonna try pricing stuff out individually that i want and see what the price difference is

Edited, cheaper to get the Pro I suppose since the individual items come to $115.15, it'd be stupid to go that route considering the price difference, lol, so maybe next week if it is still on sale.

Thank you, it now appears to be fixed ($26.90 makes much more sense.)
