Naaru for Giselle 6 - Faery like character
&
Amelie for Giselle 6 - Goth like character
couldn't resist doing two ... she's really cute .....
I tried to add Amelie to the cart and she won't go. I can't buy her.:( I wonder if anyone else is having this problem? She is so cute! Well both of these are.
Ok here is the second try, I shopped her kilt to cover a bit more of her skin, though in my opinion the original was well within tos as it showed nothing that you would not see on the same figure wearing a bikini.
Could only afford the base also Malandar... but as you've shown.. with the other morphs for G2F... Giselle doesn't HAVE to be a fairy/elf.. she can even be a warrior :) thank you for sharing!

Yup I enjoyed making this render, the outfit took a bit of trial and error to get something I liked that did not conflict with one thing or another. Oh and she IS an elf, you just can't see her ears because of her hair :P
Oh, that's ADORABLE...unfortunately it has that super frustrating sub-surface scattering banding that happens under some circumstances in DAZ Studio. It's something about the light and AoA SSS combination that causes that banding.
This render makes me seriously consider picking up 'Squee', though. Srsly ky00t!
did you try turning down the shading rate on the skin surfaces?
Yes, for my own renders I typically do something like that, although it seems to have a slightly detrimental effect on the render times.
Okay, that's not quite true. The LAST render I did, where I had this as a MAJOR problem (just a few days ago) I finally figured that out. :( Before that I just turned off SSS, IIRC.
I do wonder why the skins ship with high enough shading rates to cause this, but I presume the answer is that it's an interaction that doesn't normally happen...
Yeah, I noticed this problem and vaguely remembered reading about it somewhere. Forgot it was SSS/AoA?
My shading rate in the render tab is 0.05 and I brought the rate down to mid single digits in AoA (with shadow samples over 500). And I used shader hitmode.
Good grief. It didn't even occur to me to look for a shading rate in the SSS surfaces :( Does that get rid of it? Or should I just not use SSS?
Edit: I replaced the render above done by reducing the shading rate on the skin. Seems to have fixed it.
WHy are you using 500 samples for your shadows? 32 tops for me and sometimes I just leave it at 8 samples
On the render settting tab you would be fine with a shading rate of 0.2
I have never used samples of 500 (this was in AoA) until this render. And I'll never use them again. :) Promise.
I can see the difference between 0.1 and 0.2. Probably because I stick my nose close to the render to see detail. 0.05 is, yes, a little much--hardly any better. I was just changing everything I thought would make a difference except the thing that actually did. :)
I do my promos with pixel samples of 20, shadow samples of 24, shading rate of 0.1... AO light shading rate of 6 usually... and adjust shading rate on skin if needed for the distance the figure is from the camera, usually don't need to change that but then I almost never use characters by anyone other than FWArt.
Edit - I think probably why it's not lower by default.. its default is fine for portrait renders, or waist up, and that's the distance I assume most people use to set up and test their skin shaders so they don't even think or know to change it. But that's just one of those things that sometimes needs to be adjusted if you have a character further away from the camera, bump is the same way, but most people already know to look for that one.

Thank you, Tarina!

Made this for PC monthly challenge, thought I would post here as well.
Made with Giselle, Tigerlily, Mystic Giselle, plus some other morphs.
Very cool Storypilot - love the tiny tiger!
Thanks Phlox!
Giselle as scifi instead of fairy *grin*
Would not want to mess with her! :) Very nice picture, great contrast and colors.
Very very nice. Made me spend the evening playing with Tiger Lily.
Love it, Jaki. Perfect combo of outfit, skin, and scene set!
Thank you, Spit. Tigerlily's a very nice product. :)
.
Giselle got me to rejoin the PC , Could only afford the base though. I figured she would help me make my elves better and she does.
Image removed for nudity. Please see this thread for info: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/3279_98/
There was less skin showing in my image than if she had been wearing a bikini and it showed nothing that a bikini would not show.

I debated if I would do a Giselle 6 morph for my latest outfit but she is starting to grow on me !
Love the pic. Love the outfit.
Giselle is my fave G/G2 figure. My fondness for her caught me by surprise.
I like that it's got the 4 sets of elf ears to it's really built for fairies !
Speaking of fairies,
Update: Dropped the shading rate on the SSS skin from 8 to 1. Seems to have fixed the speckling junk. Render time increased only from 5:36 to 6:16.

I always set the shading rate to 1 on the Subsurface Shader for final renders.
