It's Friday, but I still have complaints!

    - Tummy unhappy with me for no known reason
    - Out of content money until next Friday
    - Succumbed to insidious DAZ sales
    - Overcast outside, making me sleepy
    - No prototyping hardware yet, writing code in a vacuum
    - Could use Gianni, he might be a match for Vicky, but... $$$$$
    - Too many posts overnight, hard to catch up

    Non-complaints!

    - Evil Queen dress/hair w/ snakes will look HAWT on Vicky, perfect to murder Mike in
    - Got creature creator morphs on sale
    - Can do 3D all weekend, no plans (well no money to do anything)
    - Fried dead bird for lunch!
    - Chicken nachos for dinner tomorrow night!
    - Office coffee is decent today :)

...AUUUUGGGHH!!!!! I wish that when you saved an updated render in 4.6 it changed the time stamp on the original file. I just wasted a fair amount of time re-rendering a scene after making a fix because It didn't show up as the newest file in my Saved Images folder. Instead after it overwrote the old one it kept the same time stamp as the original rendered image. Here I thought it was sending the file to some other folder.

Other software I use, from Word Processors to 2D programmes update the time stamp whenever a revision or overwrite of a file is saved. Seems like I need to make another suggestion on the Daz 5 thread..

May I make a suggestion to you? Change the file name for each render. Example: MyRender1, MyRender2, MyRender2, etc. I've gotten into that habit long ago.

    Dana
...too many files with almost the same name. Was very late, was very tired after looking at the same scene for hours & hours all day, making it too easy to slip up by sending the wrong one as the change was a minor but necessary one to the final rendered scene. As is that was part of why I couldn't see it because I had too many other test files of the same name it was mixed in with.

Ack big storm rolling towards Corpus. It hit Austin and San Antonio and caused flash floods. And we're in the cross hairs.
I wanted rain. Not a flood

    ...complaintz.

Up too early after getting to bed too late (early?) to check for verification email from contest (submission deadline this morning).
    Everything aches (as usual)

    Non Complaintz.

Checked the contest gallery and the scene is there so looks like I did everything right and my work wasn't all in vain.
Can go back to bed now.

    ...more later.

Bobby Brown and Kayne West immediately come to mind! < evil grin >

    twinkies
many 'natural' suppliments (hey; Arsenic, stricknyne, and kurari are all natural too!)
    meth and other 'recreational' drugs
... I could go on, but I think you can see how little actual thought or knowledge they put into their 'list'!

    (long standing) complaint:
I really dislike it when I feel sorry and sad for Internet Explorer...

Not just for all the (largely undeserved) hate and trash-talk it receives... or even when it tries to hard to be a 'real' program/application and falls so hugely short... and not even because you sort of HAVE to use it to at least some extent since it is the industry 'standard' and some sites will just *not* work correctly with other applications (it always makes me think of that little chubby kid the teacher made the other kids pick for teams back in recess but no-one actually wanted).

No, the one thing that repeatedly gets me is the sad, bemused chuckle (and contempt) I feel ever time I see that message so proudly displayed:

Internet Explorer has blocked a pop-up from

... you know, the pop-up you had to CLOSE to actually read said message?

Yeah... always makes me think of that little special kid who celebrates so jubilantly after FINALLY scoring his first touchdown and is doing his little end-zone dance following a HUGE spiking of the ball... in his own end-zone as the other players /facepalm. It is just so sad and pitiful, yet you don't want to belittle or disillusion its ONE accomplishment it is so happy about (or trust me, Microsoft would be getting a LOT more 'suggestion' emails!).

Internet Explorer - the "Mr. Bean" of applications.. just not as enjoyable

I so dislike feeling that way - almost like I felt about *being* that chubby kid back in recess.

    I thought so too. :)

    hehe what a crackup

Think I made the mistake of making a flock predominantly in the X axis when it should be a follow-the-leader Z axis

I don't think they act like ducks or geese. They seem to fly in a random pattern. I don't think they care so much for the rest of the flock as they do for the junk food or garbage on the ground. I often see them hovering in a circular pattern, but very random.

    Dana

Seagulls flock, we're right on the water here so see them all the time. The flock thing in LW is basically a particle system with a few forces like follow avoid speed but no birthrate or decay so is a little hard to get used to, needed to think much bigger than I was

 filenames  Gave up on them a long time ago & use version metadata instead - tens of thousands of files all prefixed "pic" waaaah meltdown material

But with my numbering system you know which one is the newest. And your OS should warn you if you are trying to overwrite a file with the same exact name. It's just a matter of disciplining yourself to do it all the time, be consistent.
