    ...very nice.

Get better soon (and not "Daz Soon" either)

Couple more days to go I reckon, at least I'm not coughing like TJ would hate that :) Got a basic flocking thing happening, 15 seconds came up real good except I used a sky dome for a BG and noticed a lens flare on the image so I'll have to make some particle clouds and use an algorithmic sun sky I guess

    BIRDIES! :cheese: :cheese:

Hehe silverkey Bat with MDD written out of Carrara with Fenric's plugin and instanced and flocked in LW, gearing up for a big seagulls over a cityscape scene - there's a lot of nuance in flocks, will take some tweaks for a while don't really know what I'm doing

*waves back* About to get ready to go out. Going to get my Papa Gino's Super Steak sandwich and watch that new TNT show, The Last Ship. It looks interesting, and a couple of my regular shows have ended the season. I like OnDemand! I get to watch things that I wouldn't have otherwise. There's already four episodes.

Ken Gilliland had a product here that made flocks, I think. But Ken and the birds all flew away.

Home, home at last. Lost power at work just before noon. From what I saw on the news, some lady drove up a guide wire trying to swat a bug inside her car and AEP had to cut power to the region to get her car down safely. Except, I was inside our street Access Database at the time of the power outage. When things came back up, I immediately checked the database and yep, the power outage had borked the database. Fortunately, I had made a copy of the database just yesterday as I intended on modifying some of the forms (though I didn't get a chance to change anything) so we were able to recover but man, I was scared for a minute. The last time I made a copy in which I hadn't modified any of the tables/forms was mid June. I pull the table weekly, but I have to modify the field names for my mapping program to be able to read it so those copies wouldn't work. So now, I get to make daily copies of the database to prevent ever losing it.

Got to see Dad, he's doing fine. Still not able to be released from the hospital just yet though. Should be removing the tubes tomorrow.

...I would imagine so but don't go swimming for at least an hour afterwards. ;-)

    It's hot!

Well, okay, it hasn't been 90 yet this week. But it's really hot for the Seattle area! It's like 84 outside! I'm huddled by the portable air conditioner, which is the size of R2D2 and louder than my computer fans, if you can imagine such a thing.

So you're another Seattleite? Or somewhere nearby?

    Northwards, yep!

Ah, I'm just a bit north of the main campus of what KK would probably call the 'other UW'.
    ...U District? Lake City? Northgate?

Used to live north of Sand Point.in the early 80s

So the answer to that would sort of be 'Yes'. Gaming in the U District and Lake City, working in Northgate and soon Lake City. Living where I can find a couch for the night.

Impressive touch and go for such a big machine there :)

...finally was able to view the video. Indeed very impressive. Liked the full demo with actual airshow announcer better.

Amazing how quiet it is for such a large aircraft. I remember the old 727s (which were about half the size with engines producing 1/3 the thrust) creating an ear splitting rumble when they took off (and Eastern Airlines used to call them "Whisperjets" - of course back then, they were quiet compared to the old DC-8s, 707s and Convair 880s/990s). Engine technology has certainly come a long way since then

I think some of the recent crashes could have been avoided with such responsiveness. There have been a few that went off the runway and crashed. It would help with some of the close calls with landing craft having to pull up because another was crossing the runway.

    Glad you liked it.

    Dana

It hasn't been the PLANE's responsiveness that has been at fault mostly. It's those &$@$^ 'can only fly by wire' pilots who aren't paying attention that have been at fault, and then try to CYA by blaming the plane.
