Carrara Challenge #55 - The Seasons - Last Minute Entires
Welcome to Carrara Challenge #55 - The Seasons!
Season bring change: physical change via the weather, planetary change / transitions / emotions
Seasons invoke different moods
Seasons bring about different festivities which involve different or special foods / dishes / decorations
Seasons have different light - longer days / shorter days
Seasons bring about renewal of life / death or hibernation
Different colors are associated with different seasons in nature and fashion. Different clothes are used in different seasons.
Do other planets in our solar system have seasons? Can you invent a season that doesn’t exist here on Earth using your imagination and Carrara?
How about allegories of the seasons? Many gods and goddesses are associated with the seasons, along with fantastic and mythological creatures.
These seasonal renders don’t have to be ‘outdoors’ - many aspects of seasons are indoors. Escaping the brutal heat of the summer or the comfort of a warm cozy house in the winter. Sometimes there are themes in life of “Summer in the Winter” or “Winter in the Summer”.
Show us your creative interpretation of any Season, or as many as you wish. Show off the limitless capabilities of Carrara!

thanks for that .. I wish my teachers in high school thought so as well lol
Great start, Stezza and Bunyip.
The attached is not an entry. For many years, on December 15th, I had a beer across from this fountain. It is the Temperance Fountain, in honor of America's experiment with prohibiting alcohol sales. Won't be having my toast for repeal of prohibition this year.
Trial to see if image would upload - it didn't
Diomede, My dad worked at L'Enfant Plaza for Comsat and I was working in the National Press Building the day the riots of 68 broke out. I walked from 14th & F down to dad's office trying to get home. He wasn't there, had gone to the Clarksburg Labs. A colleague of his took me to his family's home for the night. I remember that statue!

@Silene
Great story to be able to tell. But glad I didn't live it!
The fountain was moved after that. Here is the Wikipedia account.
The Temperance Fountain was originally placed at a prominent location: Seventh and Pennsylvania Avenue, across from Center Market and near to "Hooker's Division" (now the Federal Triangle). The message was to drink water, not whiskey, as there were so many saloons along the Avenue to tempt passersby. This was near the halfway point between the Capitol and White House. For many years after National Prohibition, it ironically sat in front of the Apex Liquor Store, which operated in the ground floor of the Central National Bank Building.
Washington's Temperance Fountain (lower right corner) for years sat in front of the Apex Liquor Store, housed in the Central National Bank Building.
In 1987, it was relocated about 100 feet north during the renewal by the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation, since the statue was regarded as undesirable from the start. The PADC created Indiana Plaza, and the Temperance Fountain swapped locations with the monument to the Grand Army of the Republic, which was considered historically more significant.
thanks Carrarians
how strange @diomede

lightning is very effective - applied on planes as transmapps?

thread here if you missed the car file - sorry the how to images have vanished - pita Carrara Rain Storm - Free to Carrara Users - beta released (updated) - Page 2 - Daz 3D Forums
i used vwd to drape the cloaks and add a little wind effect
Wow, @Headwax, the ground in the rain scene looks amazing. Thank you for that rain.
Thanks for the comment. Regarding the beer server, I've noticed a trend that etsablishments that directly cater to the public often hire attractive sales and customer service employees. It is not universal, but is very common. While I have never been to central Europe, all the Bavarian and Czech tourist pictures show off mountains and valleys.
@Stezza, you are nailing this challenge! Another terrific render.
