Night Wings...I'm looking forward to more snippets. Just a couple of things: "Anna, Caitlin’s personal assistant and junior High Priestess, opened the door. Is her name Anna or Anne? Let me share:

    -----------end for now ----------------------------

...was on a break while at my gaming group session so marked it to read after I got home.

Wow, very very well done. Even in the "raw" format I could picture the settings and characters. When a story does that to me, it most definitely catches my attention.

complaint: was reading about some budget gaming PCs and video cards. People are bashing $100 128 bit video cards with 2 GB of memory because they are slow. Hey, not everyone has money to buy/build a $1,500 I7 computer with a 256 bit NVidia graphics card SLI/Cross fire whatever. Leave us budget gamers alone! We (those on a budget) don't make $60 an hour like the gamers do.

sorry, had to get that off my chest

...actually I was only making at best, 10.50$ - 11.50$ an hour while I was designing my system so though it did take me months to get all the components together for my workstation as I had to save a lot and purchase the parts when I could afford it. Fortunately none went "legacy" during that time.

Now I have to look at doubling my memory to 24G and updating to Win7Po as last night when I attempted to do a test with Reality/Lux the memory usage was pegged at 10.9G (out of 12) right after I launched the render and the entire system froze after which a Windows Critical Error message popped up and auto rebooted the system. The good thing is memory is pretty inexpensive these days (24G costs less thn I paid to get the 12G I currently have), but the downside the online upgrade through MS for WIn7Pro (which I need as Premium only supports up to 16G) is almost as expensive. I refuse to go to Win8 for I'd have to then wipe everything, reinstall it and rebuild my 3D database all over again (and 8's UI sucks for desktops).

Bought a monitor from Amazon today. Nice 24 inch wide screen - should get here on Wednesday. I'm going from 17 inch to 24 wide screen - I'm going to have to relearn how to game n stuff. I'm considering keeping the 17 inch as a dual monitor arrangement where I'd have Word on the smaller monitor.

Course, there goes my Daz money for a few weeks. But I think it will be worth it in the end.

I am going to re-install Daz Studio 4 on the Windows 8 computer. I have no idea what is causing the error message. Daz Studio does open after I click "OK" several times.

where do sunset colors come from?

how fast would you have to fly to keep the sunset in view as it moves down the horizon?

normal maps displace in 3 directions?

Terminator moves at 1600KM/hour at the equator, slower at the poles :)

    http://www.universetoday.com/73622/terminator/

Oh PS Normal displacement is in one direction e.g. the direction that the surface normal points. Vector displacement is in the direction specified by a 3D vector e.g. xyz + angle :)

dohhh, had a theory to use fbm node for clouds in 3 directions

Sometimes use fbm for big bumpy bits so is not that far fetched but you really need a particle system for clouds you can "fly" through :)

Thanks for the explanation. I did not have a chance to reinstall Daz Studio on the laptop. I do not have the same issue with Daz Studio on my Windows XP computer. Maybe something happened to the content management system or its database on the laptop. Maybe the database is set to read-only or perhaps it is corrupted. I do not have PostgreSQL installed on any computer.

Good call on the skimpwear - wishlisted! I need to fire up a pinup project, I've been looking at a lot of Vargas' works and feel inspired! I grew up sneaking Dad's Playboys to look at the Vargas paintings... :red: :red:

Lunch - boneless fried chicken strips and huge fried potato wedges! Ugh, sleepy now though...
