I have been trying the combo of PoserPro 2012/Reality 4.3.1/Luxrender 1.6 to produce .LXS files for LuxCoreRender 2.0. Could not get GPU rendering to work, but I was using BiDir mode, and it turns out that GPU rendering does not work with that mode, and probably never will. CPU rendering worked fine so far. Paolo is going to post some info about a Reality update for LuxCoreRender soon. Hope we see something about a Luxus update too. The small renderfarm (rendergarden?) I am building will be able to run LuxCoreRender as well as Carrara/Grid, and it is nice to have more options.
light cache in luxcore on the way: https://forums.luxcorerender.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=430&sid=bbcc5e18bcd68eaef9044f77e365151d
it could be a huge improvement for realistic animation purpose
just got the plugin and yes found this
the name luxcorerender.exe partially the issue but my old version of Luxrender is 32bit and does not want to render it either though it does open, cannot find the legacy versions on their site either just old alpha builds
You can get older 64 bit versions up to 1.3.1 here: http://preta3d.com/download-luxrender/
Thankyou
I want to one day build another PC out of my spare parts and cannot afford to license Octane on both, it will have my crappy old card anyway so bought Luxus largely for that reason, I could even use Linux on my extra PC and the latest Luxcore version if I save the scene using the compatablle one one my Windows PC
Does anyone know if Luxus for Carrara works with Carrara 7 pro? Or is it only Carrara 8+?
Just a little question, i already have the old LuxRender for Carrara, is that a free upgrade from older version or does it costs money?
Was considering working with Luxrender again after Octane 4.0 still didn't really work.
so there is no plugin for Carrara?
at the moment i am looking for a different render engine i can use as my main pc still didn't worked and octane didn't really worked yet on my notebook as i get a digital signature error.
Just took a look on the site, maybe it's time again to work more with blender again :)
Here is the link to the Luxcore that never times out it is windows only.
This is not LUXRender but LUXCore they are different and currently LUX Core works but your results will very.
Looking back through this thread to see what has been achieved with it and the settings used maybe helpfull not to mention the link to CarraraCafe document.

has anyone made any shaders they can share is there a way to make a cloud volume?
try looking at this link on Carrara cafe I know it has base shaders for the scene.
Also it takes the shaders in a scene and uses the standard carrara shader tree's as well.
Not sure if the Iray PBR converter fshaders will be seen by it. I will try to find time later to test.
Here is a link to a render I did using normal carrara shaders and default setting.

yeah I've used those (i did redownload just to make sure) the only shaders that seem to work are those and poser auto converts that wont save (if you save the scene and reopen it it shows up in preview but renders white inluxcore)
Hmm, same issue here too. Old Luxuscore shaders that were saved as presets and worked a long time ago, do not work now. Just a Color shader. Weird.
/EDIT Luxuscore is uninstalled, so shaders are broken.
/EDIT2 Latest version fails to load, no more Luxuscore.
For me, this thread seems to be a lot of talk without much rendering success - with the exception of Joe Pingleton. Unfortunately, Joe stopped posting here in 2017, and started focusing more on Daz Studio. He gave an interview later that year, and he still had some nice (and pretty accurate) things to say about Carrara.

i'vehad some luck with saving scenes with texture options set to "save all externally"
still frame from a video render test
Looking good!
Thanks!!
thanks
as soon as i can get it composited and uploaded (its just a camera move from syntheyes) i'm running a new to me workstation through its paces
