I suppose layering a bunch of copies of the same SBH and using density maps is a workaround for getting multiple colors in 3DL, but that really complicates things.

... And now my true motives start to become clear, but still so far away.

Got carried away while doing some tests. I can already tell I'll need to re-doing everything but that's how things go.

  • That's pretty much the best non-PA use of SBH I've seen in DS. Really good. Regards, Richard.

So what your saying is if I get any better I might as well sell it.

I think those are some great skills you have. I think you would do good work as a Daz3D PA. :) Though I think Daz3D only accepts G8 or G9 figures these days.

    Umm, not exactly.

What I am saying is that's the best SBH I've seen without the aid of PA only SBH tools. Don't think I mentioned redistribution, purchase or anything else.

(You may have seen that I do a few freebies, it's because money & the exchange of it is something I try to avoid where possible in this hobby. I have received lots of freebies & try to give a bit back.)

    Regards,

    Richard

Sorry, I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth. That was a poor attempt at humor, basically joking that improving my skills would solve all my problems.

I hear you on the free stuff, for the first few years I had this "hobby" I only had freebies to work with, and I still use free items all the time. I would love to just give away the stuff I make, but "real life" dictates otherwise.

Without going into too many details my artistic skills are currently my best option for making a living. As one might expect that's not going too well and the stress is starting to taint other aspects of my life. I'm not looking for sympathy, just trying (perhaps poorly) to explain way I might sound a bit obsessed with money.

I thought I remembered there being something like that, but couldn't remember what they where or find any info on them. Do you happen to know what those tools are?

@Ethin That's totally understandable. Everyone needs to pay the bills. Don't let anyone make you feel guilty for wanting a fair pay for your time and work. :)

Tried styling it some more. The raggedy look was cute and a bit more on the toon side, so tried to make it a bit more realistic looking.

  • I do apologise for sounding like I was trying to make you feeling guilty for considering selling your work. Not my intention at all and I'm sorry it came out that way. I'm fortunate (usually) that I have a job where I can earn an adequate income, and then to make my hobby cost as little as possible, and where possible I try to avoid spending anything. That's me, and I do know I'm a bit tight, and I don't expect anyone to follow my lead. My apologies again. Regards, Richard.

I do like the clumping too. It's about the only thing I have ever achieved with SBH. And that was fairly limited modification of Vyusur's Cat Zeus' fur to get the less distinct clumps visible in the attached 'I have purr-puss in life' image (based on what one of our cats actually did to me on a regular basis - made my eyeballs dance with how strongly he purred, and focussing was impossible).

It really takes time to learm how this works & I'm not convinced all the tools for working with SBH are available to basic users. You have done really well on this, Ethin.

    Regards,

    Richard

SBH is available for everyone i think, i still use DAZ 3.15 and lately i've created a furry dinosaur with it.

  • Yep, just not all the tools as I understand. Possibly wrongly (which wouldn't be the first time). Regards, Richard.

I think it's pretty easy to figure out who inspired this, there are not too many blue foxes after all.

However that would make this fan art and I'm not really into fan art. Besides I not an actual fan, I really like the character design but that's it, I don't know much about the source material.

Hence the second image, doing my own thing with a bit of a nod to Krystal.

Still trying to decide what route to take.

    What do y'all think?smiley

Ah, Krystal..one of the most "Rule 34'd" brand name anthro' characaters in existence! cheeky  Possibly influenced by her color scheme, there are a LOT of blue hued canid OCs in the fandom, though they usually tend to be wolves rather than vulpines.  I can't immediately recall any other corporate owned azure colored foxes, but I suspect others will chime in to name them.
