I cannot afford one monkey but I can afford a betta.  I have not figured out how to teach my betta to type.  I think that is a lost cause as he cannot reach the keyboard nor do I have one I can put into his habitat

Just decide how long the text should be, what characters are allowed, and write a script or applet to systematically produce all the possibvle documents of that length. That should work faster than the monkeys, and in addition won't repeat itself the way randome monkey typing would. Of course storing al those documents while they await your review might be a problem.

I searched in DIM for Micheal but only found two products.

I find zero, but I have 116 if I spell it correctly.

It was a thought study that I was doing and I wanted someone's elses views.   If a trillion monkeys can write my book for me, why do I have to do all the hard work of writing it myself?

Because owning a trillion monkeys is probably more expensive than hiring a good writer to do it for you?

I've probably gone astray in my reasoning but if we assume 100 pages for length (if you want more just find the 100 pages for the first part, the 100 pages for the second and so on) each with 32 lines of 64 characters, then that is 192,000 characters. Allowing a set of 32 characters for letters and punctuation (all number written as words, not worrying about capitals) that is 32^192,000 texts which is roughly 10^285,000. A googol is 10^100 so that's googol^2,850 texts to sort though. Good luck, see you after the heat-death of the universe (I think you'd need to read something like 0.25 * googol texts per second to finish before the big black holes evaporated due to Hawking raditation).

Maybe we'd avoid the heat-death of the universe by turning the entire universe into an enormous black hole made of Kulay's book.

Incidentally, in case anybody was wondering how much it would cost to own a trillion monkeys, Google quickly comes to the rescue (the average cost of owning a monkey is apparently a commonly asked question, see screenshot of search suggestions.)  Looks like about $6 quadrillion for spider monkeys, but if you limit yourself to lemurs, you can get a good deal at only around $1.5 quadrillion.  This is the initial purchase price only, excluding food, housing, medical expenses, typewriters and blank paper.  Perhaps there will be a bulk discount.

    Sea monkeys!!

  • Sfariah DSfariah D Posts: 26,312

I would use seamonkeys but if I put them in the same tank as my Betta or my Goldfish, the seamonkeys will vanish and my Betta or Goldfish will be looking at me for some more.

can somebody put those monkeys to work on Hexagon and Bryce then getting them up to 64 bit, it might be faster than present?

I found out that if I put sea monkeys into my betta tank they will be eaten and did while Mr Betta will want more.

I want to imagine a hot guy taking care of me when I feel sick or maybe have a hot guy take care of me.  Instead I am nauseous without a hot guy.   Got a cute fish next to me but he is not a hot guy.

I know that morning sickness does not happen because a gal thinks about hot guys.

My brother had been talking about getting a puppy for my nephew for some time.  I just found out yesterday they got a new pet named Gilbert but he is the most feline looking puppy.  He looks just like a gray cat.

Like the name Gilbert for a cat. smileyyes

I am trying to reisntall everything again after the latest os reinstall.   I noticed that there are filters to search by generation.   Apprently it needs to be worked on as it says diner food 5 and repair team 5 for generation 5.  one is food but the other is a texture set for a genesis 2 female outfit.  huh?

found another two that are shoes and textures for Genesis 2 female.  huh?

Not more than 23 degrees worth.

The Earth doesn't rotate those ways.  I said East because I live in Bizzaro World and the sun rises in the West here.

    If, in a population of size N, 0.9 * N rate at 10 and 0.1 * N rate at 100 then

    • the average (mean) will be 19 - 90% of the population will be below that, 10% will be above.
    • the average (mode) will be 10 - 90% of the population will equal that, 10% will be above.
    • the average (median) will be 10 - 90% of the population will equal that, 10% will be above.

Edited since the measured property is stupidity, not intelligence.
