Yeesh... on at least one world that's an obscene gesture... it means "kiss my eyehole"... That doesn't make sense on earth, but if you'd ever have seen a Gvoulttoovlork, you'd understand the geography behind the gesture... also never look a Gvoulttoovlork directly in the eye... You'll likely regret it.

Also, avoid listening to Vogon poetry, if at all possible.

...here too.  Summer in the northwest has finally ended.  Had to move the heavier clothing from the back of the closet to the front and pull out the extra blankets.

Extra free?... "Now twice as free as previous costlessness with even more not having to pay for it than ever before"....?

I am going to be a famous artist. I shall paint an abstract painting called stupidity. Shuffling my crayons. What color is stupid?

I think I said this before, but that's pretty much what destroyed Atlantis... granted there was a lot cat fur involved and a geothermal power generator connected to a volcano, but essentially the catalyst was exactly what you are doing.

It's a sort of a warm grey-brown-blue-green-red... to be honest the color of stupid is often difficult to perceive because in different lighting it looks like a totally smart color, but in the light of day or reason (the actual reason, not a grey market knock-off) it's suddenly a lot stupider than it first appeared.

That's why a lot of people think they've colored something smart even though it's now totally stupid... they never shine the right light on it so they can see the true stupidity radiating from it... and often even in the cold hard light of reason, they can't see the stupidy because they are looking at it through rose colored glasses.

Stupid is also a very complex color, with so many shades, it's often hard to detect, especially when someone who's supposedly an expert says something is smart and only shines a narrow complimentary light on the subject, masking or obscuring the stupid.

If you don't look hard at some things it's often hard to see the stupid all over them.

...but that drowns out the noise from the neighbouring apartment when they play "shoot em up" computer games until 04:00 - 05:00, and it is non toxic (at least Crayolas™ are).

Regarding the color of stupid:  There should be plenty of examples to see.  If you hadn't already noticed, there seems to be a Plague of Stupid affecting this planet right now.  Ooh, what a good name for a book!cool  Sort'a like Ship of Fools or Train to Nowhere.indecision

I wanted my doll Nemo to wear my green doll shirt.  It is green with a yellow 12.  I looked all over my room for that shirt while Nemo was upstairs.  Right now I have 3 girl AG dolls and one Nemo (also an AG doll).  I looked at the three girls to see if they were wearing it, but nope.

As I decided to give up, I wondered what shirt Nemo was wearing.  I went upstairs to the living room and saw Nemo.  He was already wearing the #12 green shirt.

Thats a problem often encountered with haunted dolls... I believe they made a series of documentary movies about one particular example... next thing you know they'll be eating your cereal and using your computer to purchase doll sized luxury items.

even Genesis 9 wanted me to buy them a new dress to express their feminine side.  Wonder when RawArt or another artist will release a morph pack to show the feline side of Genesis 9?

Well, till that day arrives, please accept this Artificially unIntelligently generated image of a capybara wearing a fancy ball gown.

I'm pretty sure AI has no idea of what kind of ball gown a real capybara would wear.

Some of those look like they'd be fun to model in Nomad Sculpt, especially all the root tendril thingies.

Agh... you had to say that about wanting a real one, and getting my stupid brain going down that rabbit hole...

If I still had the kind of equipment and tools I had at the design studio I last worked for, I could have made an actual lamp similar to the one with the Tiffany style shade... we did glass and metal designs for companies like Steuben Glass, Nambe', Hoya Crystal and Umbra (booooo... Umbra), mostly stuff that was fairly fluid or organic looking... well, in the early design stages... by the end most of the time, what was actually made was not as cool as the original design (Hoya was much better in keeping with the original vision), because the client would cheap out at some point and start dumbing stuff down for simpler production methods... so I can picture how to do that

Actually, all of the above designs would probably need some taming to be able to be produced... well, also I'm thinking of it in a "production" sense not as a one off piece, which is a lot less challenging conceptually... actually, maybe not so much if some of the high end 3D printers used in the jewelry industry were employed... with lost wax casting using a specialized 3D printer that's actually a lot easier than hand sculpting it... thinking about it, 3D printing the shade, casting the glass and then water-jet cutting the pieces to fit would probably allow for some amazing possibilities... The body of the lamp with all the rooty tendrils would probably be best as a bonze casting with multiple patina washes to produce the various rich colors flowing through it... though one of the images would look amazing as dark jade, but that's not something I ever dealt with on that scale...

All of those could be simplified and made out of epoxies and translucent resins, but metal, stone and glass are the real challenge to work.

Aaaagh... I hate it that my brain starts obsessing on how to make stuff that I can't afford to create... it sucks being poor and not having multi thousand dollar toys to play with to make fantastical stuff...

On the ultra cheap side, just as a candle holder, or lamp without that organic Tiffany shade, most of those could be made with epoxy clays and metal inserts (for the candles)... like the top far left one with the candles (technically part of the sculpture seems to be a candle, but that's easily changed), that could easily be made for under $60 USD ($93 AUD) worth of materials one could get in Home Depot (or Bunnings down in Oz?)... depending on how badly "the great supply chain disruption" forced manufacturers down below to jack up their prices to "better serve themselves their customers".

AI generated art is great for having fun with (especially dress up cats in armor), or using as a source of inspiration.

Edited to add... Actually I think for an ultra cheap version, one might be able to use a cheap thin acrylic bowl as the shade (provided they found something of appropriate size and thinness), the design of the lead lines could be carved out carefully using a Dremel tool (rotary motor tool) and those areas filled with epoxy clay... the bowl could be spray painted beforehand using translucent paints available at craft stores... As long as one used low power LED bulbs that weren't too close to the plastic or didn't get too hot, it would be fine... IKEA has/had some crappy LED lamps with polyethylene shades, so even flimsy polyethylene is doable as a shade (but wouldn't be paintable, nor would the epoxy stick to it).

    Edited again...

Sorry for the big long post pondering making stuff you only mused upon having.

I'm amazed at my computer. I really am. What it survived it should not be able to run windows, much less daz and other 3D softwares. It's too old of a geezer and yet it does not give up even though it's almost 14 years old. This takes me to such nostalgia when Jade was around and I was trying to figure out how to render complex things in passess, lighting and now it renders. Not super fast, but it still works.

I'm amazed at my current computer too.  Microsoft said it couldn't run Windows 11, but my computer can it seems.  I am not interested in going back to Windows 10 or upgrade to Windows 19.

My computer can't use Windows 19.  My time traveling friend told me that.
