Callia 6?

Welp, we've got a name. And it's female. No idea whether she will be accompanied by a stealth escort as Monique was, but we've got a name.

Listed among the fits for the '70s romper outfit. And it's unlikely that we're going to need to worry about her until next month about this time.

So. Callia. Anyone want to take a guess? Certainly doesn't evoke much of an association with me, although it could possibly be Mediteranian.

    Callia is originally a Greek name.
    Not sure it helps much though ;)

    Nope. She's going to be another busty Stylized toon chick.

    Here's more compared between Girl 6 and Aiko 6:

    Red = Girl
    Green = Callie
    Blue = Aiko

    By the way, apparently it's "Callie", not "Callia"...

    Callie? Where? It definitely says Callia here.

    Agree about the Toon chick probability. At least on the basis of the clothing fit shots. Something between Girl and Aiko. (All the more reason to hope she comes with an escort. No Toon males apart from 3DU. at this point -- and theirs are all for G1.)

    Of course there's no clue for overall scaling since the outfit doesn't give much hint of the overall height of the character.

    Callia is a shortened form of Calliope, which was the name of the most senior of the Greek Muses. Given that we're talking about a Muse, as well as the mother of Orpheus, if we assume that the choice of the name has any meaning, one would assume that it's either to imply grace and balance or a vaguely Latin/South European ethnic look. Personally, I'm hoping for a lithe dancer type since we didn't get one with Giselle.

    Edit: Looking at what RD just posted, I'd amend that to say that it sounds more like she's going to have a lusher body type, like a nymph.

    If you're talking about Blake's Seven, that was Cally.

    Maybe a pinup type figure with those proportions?

    Did DAZ change the romper page? I don't see any reference to Callia.

    I posted what had been on the page above. But I just looked and the teaser is gone. So, yes, they changed it. But it certainly was there last night and was still there this morning.

    You have sharp eyes! Looks like you caught them with their pants down, so to speak. :lol:

    No, more like they did it on purpose. It was a teaser, as it were.

    Keeps people coming back to speculate, and stiring up word of mouth.

    Well, then that means that instead of catching DAZ "with their pants down," that DAZ is guilty of "flashing".

    Eww...

    Nah, Reby wasn't an overly busty toon girl.

    I think we need more evidence before committing to the toon girl idea. For all we know it could be an anthropomorphic cat character ;)

    Who really cares? It's not a male. We're overly inundated with females. 'Nuff said.

    Is it any surprise I agree with Novica? =-) I don't need more female figure bases least unless it is something really radical like alien
    Or something different.

    I want more resources to mix with the characters we have (skins, skin overlays, subtle morphs).

    And yeah, I'm a bit meh about yet more young buxom women.

    Your enthusiasm and interest are certainly warranted for people who want more females. I wasn't trying to be rude and may have come off as being abrupt and that was not my intention. I just adore guys, that's all ;-)

    O' the skimpwear line rate is frightful,
    But the income's so delightful;
    And as far as we all can tell,
    Sexy sells, sexy sells, sexy sells!

    But all facetiousness aside, I do think that the next male we get is going to be either a Native American with a female counterpart to complete the DAZ Ethnic Trio, or a stylized boy to finally start complimenting all these toon girls we have.

    I'd love a Mexican character. I haven't noticed more than a couple.

    Callia is a derivative of Calliagh or Cailleach which is Irish for a 'hag' or a wise old woman. Ceann Cailli meaning Hag's Head or Sliabh na Cailli - 'the hag's mountain'. A Daz pensioner would be nice... %-P

    It certainly would. We've got a few older characters for G2F, but they are PA items. It would be nice to get an aged female (or male) texture on the level of quality that DAZ's base releases generally come with.

    But that doesn't really stack up that well with the clothing fit that we saw. (How does that fit compare with some of the more realistic figures like Olympia and Lilith?)

    I think I did a render of the Olympia and Lilith shapes among the many I took before I returned the outfit because I figured there would be requests. Let me check...
