    No it doesn't. cheeky It's the first discovered of the Kuiper Belt objects.  There is already a bigger object out there.  Do we call it a planet too?  Just because we got emotionally attached to a rock that would have been ignored if not for a cartoon mogul naming one of his characters after it does not give it special status.  There are many, perhaps hundreds or even thousands of similarly sized bodies in the Kuiper Belt.  And besides Pluto orbits in a long eliptical orbit, tilted significantly to all the other planets, and crosses inside the orbit of Neptune.  Pluto is NOT a planet, it's a big spherical rock.  An interesting rock to be sure, but we've examined other interesting spherical rocks in the solar system.  Ceres for example.  Pluto is just bigger.  It is rightly classified as a dwarf planet.

    This innane controversy over whether Pluto is a planet or a dwarf planet is an example of children and other short thinking non-scientists dictating science.  That's not the way things work.  angry

    Some people make you want to spit don't they.   Siamese fighting fish are definately fish (bettas) and goldfish ar actually a species of carp, and carp can be some of the most expensive fish to buy.   

    Did you know that if you have goldfish in a pond they grow really big.  We had some in our Pond, when we still lived at Chohole Gate Lodge, the grew to about 8 inches or more long.

    Actually, the way things work in this case is politics, it is by no means a scientific consensus.
