    Complaint:

I paid a Dr. $40 US to cut my foot with a scalpel. Well different strokes. Not as bad as it sounds. I have a callus on the ball of my of my left foot that occasionally (about once a year) becomes thick enough to have infection form under it. Such is the fun life of a diabetic. I watch my feet like a hawk, if hawks were shoe-gazers. I don't let any changes go without seeing my foot Dr.

Well now, let the Complaint Thread slip out from under my grasp again. There's my complaint. OH MAN HAS THE FORUM CHANGED!!  D:

Did anyone notice I was gone? :P

I got drawing and stuff to share! Was a very productive week <3

From first to last - and assuming they remain in that order after uploading:

    Tetsucabra (Large tusked toad thing)

    Tigrex (Yellow-and-blue dragon)

    Zamtrios (Big inflatable shark*)

*Yes, inflatable. He looks all intimidating and shark'y at first... Then he inflates to absolutely comical proportions and looks like a giant beachball with legs and a tail, then starts bouncing and rolling around x'D Totally hilarious to witness I tell you.

I'm back, but not sure for how long.  But are any of us?

Went to the emergency room to get examined for hernia and schedule another time to fix it.  They immediately changed the subject and freaked out over my heartbeats.  I reluctantly agreed to be checked into the hospital overnight for "observation".  Before I knew it they were poking and prodding me and drugging me and leaving me alone with nothing but a low level subscription to cable TV that I had to pay for, and a remote control that only went up or down one channel at a time through 75 channels and gave you no information about the program on the channel.  (Arghh... my brain is fried).  They kept me there Sunday night and Monday night by which time I'd had enough.  They had me hooked up to a wireless heart monitor and I could hear the alarm go off at the nurses station everytime I got up to take a pee.  A gaggle of doctors came in to see me, each with a pet theory of how to fix me.  I finally said "STOP" and refused any more treatment.  If my time has come my time has come, but I'm not going to spend my last money laying in a bed in a hospital waiting to die for the next 20 years.  My only regret is that I've gotten too fat to get into the seat of a heart stopping roller coaster.  I have a bucket list and I'm going to start seriously working on those items.  I'll continue to visit my cardiologist and accept new medications he suggests but I'm not going to be a guinea pig in a cage while they steal my life's savings.  I have no decendent family, I have no obligations, personal or financial.  If my time comes, my time comes.  I've been ready for it for decades. enlightened

Meanwhile, I'll be in the forums every day taunting you all as the opportunities arise until I get terminally bored or just terminal. devil

Hopefully it is something temporary and it will just sort itself and disappear...sooner the better.

Not likely by itself. I know where this is heading. If I want to do anything except be a professional couch potato I'll need a basket full of drugs. Or a pacemaker or a new heart with a basket full of drugs on the side. When it gets to the point where I can't list all my meds on a matchbook cover it's time to listen for the whistle of the train that is the light at the end of the tunnel. I watched my father turn into an overdrugged addict. Sure he lived another 20 years but it's not a life I'm suited to settle for. No thanks.  I'd rather just live my life as it comes without begging for just one more day. Perhaps it's time to jump on the bicycle and start fighing my way up the hills around here. It will either cure me or kill me outright. surprise

I'll have a good thought for you today LG :)

and don't forget the value of quality rest.  sleep 10 hours a day, sips water everytime you wake up. body needs water to wash out toxins.

....my usual nighttime prescription as well.  Always have a big mug of fresh water on the nightstand.

Interesting, this time it didn't take me down to the edit window but did the usual bounce upwards when I clicked "quote". Was working fine earlier today..  Wonder what broke it.

Well, start easy and work your way up to tougher rides.  It will probably help.  You didn't put that weight on overnight, so it won't come off overnight, either.  No matter what those commercials tell you late at night!  wink  Try a little weight bearing exericise, too.  It not only strengthens the muscles, it speeds your matabolism becuase muscle requires more energy, so it burns more calories.  It also helps increase bone density, which is especially a problem with the elderly (or, as we get older it gets to be more of a problem).  Start out easy and work your way up with weights, too.  You should be able to do between 8 and 12 repetitions of the exercise.  If you can do 20 easily, it's too light.  If you can't make it to 8, it's too heavy.

...sounds like the winter we had this year.  albeit we were already in the upper 50s to low 60s at the relative point in time for us (January 14th). By the last week of January we had already Crocus blooming and the first daffodils were coming up.

Ten hours is way too much.  Recent research has indicated that seven hours is the ideal.  Sleep too many hours, and you end up being groggy all day.  That's no fun.
