Complaint: The first time I tried to reply to TJohn, it said "Page not found".  So I went back and it sent me to my account page!  so I clicked on Forums and it said "Signing you in!"  That's annoying.  If I wasn't signed in, how did it know what my bookmarks are?  no

Am sure that will get sorted out but I'm getting logged out hourly amd bounced back to account page on login, iz too hard now to post on the move :)

they said the infection could reach my heart. doesn't sound good.  they gave me amoxicillin to fight the infection and 800mg motrin to fight ouchies.

there no one to drive me to my next appt.

weirdest office. he had  poodles running around.

    i'm shakie, is that normal?

the leetle pill was zanax something

Xanax is a mood stabilizer.. I took that for 2 months about 30 years ago when I was WAY overstressed.  Amoxicillin is good stuff, though it CAN make some folks feel odd.

The whole "might reach your heart" thing is true, but pretty unlikely in the modern age.  Mostly it's a case of "let's make sure nothing happens".  Safety first!

Sorry to hear about all this, though.  Get better soonest!

Why is it every time I come in here to read and post, I feel hungry? Weird. indecision

Atkins protien bar for brekkie.. zero sugar, but still tastes like chocolate? Odd.  But, sigh, weight needs to come off and not eating huge meals when I can't exercise is important.  More protien and vitamin shakes coming in the mail.  Woot. indecision

Are you sure it wasn't "Xanax"? http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/263490.php

And "yes", you cut it close.  (teeth/jaw infections are nothing to fool around with) http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001060.htm

Take your antibiotics religiously, use the whole prescription, don't try to save any for future events.  Stay in touch with your doctor.

I had a tooth/jaw infection many years ago.  It started small and I just figured it was a typical gum cut or something caught under the gumline.  I flossed and brushed and mouthwashed thoroughly but it continued to intensify.  About two weeks later I'd been invited to a big fancy wedding in Atlanta and all my expenses were being paid for by family.  Had a marvelous time as well as I could considering the terrible pain I was going through.  The wedding events took place over three days and by time the actual wedding occured I was in agony.  I finally had my family doctor (literally, a doctor in my family who was also attending the wedding) examine me and he gave me a prescription for some super antibiotic that made me woozy and see sparkly things as it battled the infection.  But by the next day as we were getting ready to drive back to central Florida I was already feeling much better.  After the infection subsided and my mouth got back to normal I finally poked around in there and found a piece of popcorn hull that had wedged its way deep into the gums and festered infecting the jawbone around a molar root.  I am now very very careful about eating popcorn.

You might call and ask the doc about that, I'm not sure that's a side-effect or not...

The only reason it doesn't happen much these days is that people take care of it right away.  They don't wait or ignore it.  I wonder how many poor folks with no insurance still experience that today?  Especially homeless.  They never seem to get counted in statistics like that.

Good point.  There's always emergency rooms, they're supposed to take anyone and hospitals are allowed to write off a certain percent of their work as charity.. but you'd have to go in first.  Ugh.

Most hospital in the US allow payment plans and they write of a certain amount based on income.

Morning. Gathering clouds all dramatic purple and almost black grey roiling overhead in the teeth of a gusting chill wind tearing ragged edges and dark-as-night holes in them, maybe if it showers there will be a rainbow :)

I go to the dentist Monday. I haven't been brushing as much as I am supposed to brush.

  • LeatherGryphonLeatherGryphon Posts: 11,506

Perhaps some will find this disgusting but since I live alone I don't have a problem with it.  I keep a roll of dental floss in a drawer next to my TV chair and floss my teeth while watching the boob tube.  Doesn't waste my time, takes care of the niggly bits that hide among the cracks and is mindless activity just like watching TV.  I also keep a box of Kleenex tissues at this vegging station as well as a cookie or two in a drawer.

Popcorn is one of the top ten most dangerous snack foods, only Grenade Berries and Live Hornets place ahead of it.

By the way, I read "Atlantis" instead of Atlanta, above and I didn't even realize until I finished... But we do have an aquarium here named Atlantis, where big fancy weddings are sometimes held, so it not that odd.

By the way, Misty... Never cross Deer Park Ave on foot... Doing a handstand or in a wheelbarrow... It's just not safe. My friend lives near the Olympic Diner off Deer Park Ave... South of Long Island Ave you have the stupidest drivers ever.  I'd offer to drive you but that probably violates some internet/forum protocol... Besides I curse a lot when I drive.

Flossing is not disgusting... But apparently leaving the used floss around is considered "unsanitary".... Piff... It can be use for loads of other things... Like stitching wounds closed or making tiny bows for field mice to hunt crickets with.

I save my used floss and crochet it into bandages.

PS: while creating this post I forgot about my Pizza slice in the microwave.  And, I had set it for 6 and a half minutes on full power instead of 20% power.  Did you know that after about six minutes pizza in a microwave on full power begins to smoke amazingly voluminously and turns to a mass of charcoal?  Entire apartment experienced a 3 foot visibility limit.  I've been diving in a turbid ocean with more visibility.

Now that's complaint worthy.   Cruelty to Pizza slices.
