Found a package that handles breathing animation:

    https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-2-alive

But it requires 'Muscularity Morphs'. Assuming I bought both packages and applied it to G2 female, could I then use DraagonStorms G2 to G3 script to transfer it to G3 female?

I'm doubtful because there is no equivalent to 'muscularity morphs' in G3 (well there is, but by a diff author)...so I think that when Dragonstorm's script runs...it won't be able to re-create the animation on G3?

Any word on this working for G3 males? I didn't realize the males / females had different bones?

There's a free script that works for males. It also converts poses/animations for most generations:

  • i have read this info but i am still currently finding the issue with g3 that she will not copy g2's movements i have manually installed the script just to confirm what is the correct install path for script

I installed it in my library: D:\My DAZ 3D Library\Scripts\Zaz

It depends on RSG's script being installed too as mentioned on that forum post.

I'm not sure if it copies G2M to G3M, but it definitely handles G2F to G3F.

That being said, it's still not perfect. Feet and hands can be a bit off and some jerkiness sometimes. Unfortunately, I have yet to find an affordable set of G3 smooth animations. I still may try out DraagonStorm's product if it ever goes on sale, but I have a hunch it won't handle all the breathing and other morphs in products like Alive 2. Too expensive to buy it all to test it out so I'll probably hand craft a few aniblocks (nothing as comlpicated as walking ...i'm not that crazy).

  • Hi Draagonstorm, I just purchased the Animation conversion and I followed the steps to start the conversion from Genesis 2 female to Genesis 3 female. I applied the kneel to stand aniblock on the G2 character. When I start the conversion, the G3 is not responding. Do you or anyone have any suggestions?

Unfortunately Dragonstorm died a while back.

I beleive that if you are using an AniBlock you have to bake it to the Timeline before it can be converted.

Hi, with all due respect to the late Dragoonstrom and other script makers, the need for external scripts( paid or free) to retarget character body animation  has been recently found to be completely Moot.

This has always been possible by using the venerable  Daz Genesis 1 as the The motion donor ...no other model only Genesis 1

Remember, Genesis 1 was the highly versatile & capable successor to the "Millenium  4" Figures
The default genesis 1 will not only accept Millenium 4
textures& clothing but most of the BVH& poser PZ2 Character motion data for that older generation as well.

Apply your motion to Genesis 1 first and save as animated pose preset (.duf)

This saved ,  animated pose preset will load correctly on the Genesis 3 male or female natively in Daz studio
and  even on Genesis 8 after applying a free T-pose preset to deal with the Default Lowered arms of G8

    See this thread for details:

Released Animation Conversion Genesis 2 to Genesis 3

    You Tube Demo

This script will, frame by frame, take the current pose from Genesis 2, make adjustments, and then apply it to Genesis 3. After it is finished, you can then save the adjusted animation in whatever format available to you in DAZ Studio.

Does this work the other way? Convert from G3 to G2 aniblocks? Does this work for G8 aniblocks? If it does, I'll purcahse it!
