Ok... quick question...
Q: What's green, full of vitamin C, niacin, magnesium and potassium and goes "meow"...?
You can take a stab at the obvious answer or go to the last picture of my latest post at the An OT thread for images... https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/59113/an-ot-thread-for-images
Or just wait and I'll post it later.
I'd say it was a joke to cheer people up (I know at least one person might need a smile)... but it's more of a war crime level pun made tangible through the use of plastic googly eyes and various scrap materials.
Huh. Today was quite the cat-astrophy for me, too.
Dana
One of the newer generations of Star Trek movies, I think the first one with Chris Pine as Kirk. Spock is seen as a child in Vulcan school and being bullied for being half-human.
Well, I know everyone was up late last night trying to figure that out... /s
So here is the answer to "What's green, full of vitamin C, niacin, magnesium and potassium and goes "meow"?
A: An Avocato... get it... Avocado... cat... meow... he's got whiskers and cat ears... it's funny damn it!
All right I apologize... it was incredibly stupid.
And yes, I ate Avacato and he was delicious.
Please return to your regulaly scheduled forum based activities.
not Advocaat my favourte drink in my 20's was a Fluffy Duck
This looks like Anson Mount. But also looks like a Star Trek captain!
I understand that it takes quite a while for them to liquify. The feathers are the last to go.
This looks a bit like the Doctor with a skull.
Non-complaint: Music to DAZ by: Two and a half minutes of serenity. Then the rest of the day will be spent earworm humming it. The clarinet solo from the beginning of the adagio (3rd movement) of Rachmaninoff's 2nd Symphony. Rachmaninoff, a master of melody.
But if it's serenity you want, try this... "The Swan of Tuonela" from the "Lemminkäinen Suite" by Jean Sibelius. Eight minutes of drifting.
I'd like to stop drinking, but I get so darn thirsty...
So in about a month, maybe two, I might be in the market for getting some DAZ models. If I decide to do it, I'll need to budget for it first. The prior "merging" of the male and female meshes (when was that, Gen 1?) made the characters appear unnatural to me, almost as if one gender had an extra vertebrae and the other had a weird shape in the shoulder or hip bones.
So when the next generation came out and they once again split the two, I was pleased to see that the results were improved, at least to my eyes. Now, I hear that G9 is back to a unified mesh. I haven't spent a lot of time looking at them, but I thought I'd just toss it out to you all here. Do you think G9 is an improvement over G8? Or do you like G8 better?
I don't think it's an improvement. I think Genesis 3 was the peak. And Genesis 8 is better than 8.1. Most of the so-called improvements in G9 seem to come from subdivision settings changes that could be applied to figures earlier than G9, just as easily as G9, assuming you have that much memory in the first place. And nobody does.
If one isn't into portraits, I think G8/G8.1 is still better than G9.
If looking at a clothed G9 female, the shoulders are too big and as far as posing goes, I find bending the back looking unnatural, especially when bent backwards..
If one is looking at a figure au naturel... G8/G8.1 wins hands down.
That sounds like a drinking problem.
And speaking of serenity and swans..., there's a place for that.
Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bok_Tower_Gardens
Beautiful gardens around the the “Singing Tower” A 100 year old, uniquely ornate, stone carillon bell tower..
The tower in the center of the gardens is surrounded by a tropical moat populated with swans and other critters.
Long wandering paths through the gardens. Wonderful views from the highest hill in Florida (No public access to the inside of the tower).
Free, live, carillon performances every Sunday.
Yeah, yeah, it's ancient person bait, but anybody needing some serenity is welcome to come and just be. Or for fantasy buffs who want to pretend it's Saruman's tower before he went evil.
Ninety percent of man's creations are junk. This is not one of them.
And here's more swan music, "The Swan" from "The Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint-Saëns.
Hmm... I guess the forum ate my post... I forgot what I wrote yesterday, but when I poked "POST COMMENT" the forum seemed to struggle and then froze and I just left it and forgot about it because I wasn't going to wait for it anymore... it's really such a drag these gateway timeouts, gateway errors and other assorted sever related problems.
Its a bummer because I kinda think of most of the people here as my imaginary friends and lately it's seeming to be harder to post and I'm debating just making acorn based representations of all you folks and just forgetting the forums for the sake of my own sanity... that's a lie, I've got no sanity, never had it, never will... but if I do make a forum of acorn facsimiles of you all, it won't be like in a creepy voodoo doll way... well, not entirely because that usually requires hair or DNA samples, but I'll be nice to them and just tell them my dumb stories and jokes... actually that wouldn't be considered "being nice" to someone, so I should just not do that in the first place...
Ehgh... whatever.
I have work I should probably be doing... buh bye.
Sever related problems? Chop off a hand? That would be a problem.

Complaint; In addition to Cloudflare problems, random posts within the threads seem to wait for hours to appear. You make a post on a thread with 3 previous posts, come back a few hours later and there's 3-4 posts that were made before your last post, which were not there when you made the post...
It will cost almost $200 to fix my iPad's screen!
Wondering... What is going on with the law enforcement, nobody keeping us in line anymore?
I am being kept in line
We're like inline rollerskates.
Are you implying I'm nuts!?
It may be true, but you don't have to say it, lol. Oh, and my acorn facsimile would probably enjoy your stories.
Attack Of The Acorn People!
A Roger Corman Film
I like to think I'm your friend, even if I am imaginary. Maybe my creepy acorn could be like the tiny dancer telling you The Boulevard is not that bad.
I believe that you can find sanity pads in most drugstores.
I sometimes think that I have imaginary readers. But I blather at them just the same. I also talk to walls and the TV. Very cathartic. But at least, my suspected imaginary readers, sometimes comment, somewhat co- or inco-herently about what they think I said. Yay! The Universe is talking back to me. Wheee...
Today's non-complaint: My PoppaBear computer, the one with all the beef, seems to have survived extraction of his wonky graphics driver fragments and accepted a new fresh driver without any side effects except that it no longer crashes when I start DAZ Studio or the game "Obduction" Yay!
DAZ had 2 sales that lightened my purse
I didn't need that
Non-Complaint: Ooh, ooh, it's here! New game from the Myst people. Long awaited, "Firmament". I have no idea what the critics say, nor do I care. I need new Myst-ishness in my life. Yay, It's Christmas in May.
Complaint: I actually sent them a chunk of change several years ago when they were fishing for funding for the new game, but I've changed my email address since then and can't get back to it and they probably lost track of me when it came time to distribute the free copy of the game that we were enticed with. (*Sigh*) Bought it anyway. Wheee..., if I disappear for a week or two, you'll know where I am.
