Non-complaint:  Eyeball Report:  I spy with my little eye (my right one) a still shrinking air bubble, now  39/40th by volume of the eyeball interior. Yes, I have a calibrated eyeball.cheeky  But as the bubble nears the end of its lifetime, it is apparently panicing and spontaneously births baby bubbles, only to eat them a while later.  As I look straight down I can see the full circle of the main bubble, but around it, like BBs around a marble, are 1, 2, 3, or even sometimes 4 little planets bumping up against a sun, till the sun absorbs one.  I'm trying to explain why this is happening now and not when the main bubble was bigger.  But overall, the rate of shrinkage is shrinking.surprise  The bubble and the rate of absorption must have something to do with surface tension, the angle of the meniscus at which the fluid meets the retina surface, and the exposed area of retina still able to absorb the gas in the bubble.indecision  But on the plus side, reflections from the underside of the surface seem to have faded into non-noticeability.yes  I go to the local eye doctor next week.  Perhaps he can tell me.

A Ponderable:  Why is the word "absorb" spelled with a "b", and the word "absorption" spelled with a "p"?

And here's another one:  Why, oh why is the number "4" spelled "four", and the number 40 spelled "forty".  Why is the "u" kicked out?

    English, y'gotta love it.frown

Here's a thought.  Perhaps the little bubbles are decomposition gas and my eyeball is rotting?surprise  See how easy it is to find things to worry about.yes

Or... The bubble is actually the gaseous nebula cloud caused by the collapse of a subatomic particle that supernovaed and created a tiny universe which due to the temporal differences in "big and little" has led to an advanced system of highly evolved benevolent civilizations emerging in a short period of time, who are now occupying that bubble...  a Union of civilizations who have come to realize they live in that bubble in your eye and both care about you and are dedicated to using their advanced technology to keep you functioning indefinitely...

That could also be horrifying because they could really suck at that and then you'll end up a rotting animated pile of flesh shambling about terrifying the living because they didn't fully understand human biochemistry and mechanics...

That doesn't seem helpful or positive...

I thought I was onto something there...

I'm not really great at making people feel better about stuff...

Grrr... Every company wants me to buy from them online, but they insist on having awful online stores...

How hard is this concept?....  "1 quart Grey Rustoleum Hammered Finish paint"....

I Google it, I get a result showing the product in your store, I click on it, it shows a different color at the store with no way of actually finding the correct color without re-entering the search terms which results in hundreds of pages of not-what-I-asked-for.

    or

I Google it, I get a result showing the product in your store, I click on it and it opens to your store in Tibet... I enter my zip code to "Find a store where this product is available" and it erases my search result and opens a local store that shows my (literally) 10,000 results for things with the word "grey" in it.

    or

I Google it, I get a result showing the product in your store, I click on it and it shows me 800 different ladders... what's rustoleum?... we got lots of ladders.

    or

I Google it, I get a result showing the product in your store, I click on it and I get the notification "this item can not be shipped internationally"... but you are in the US and there is no way to see if a local store carries this product...have a nice day... we have a picture of this product, that should suffice.

    or

I Google it, I get a result showing the product in your store, I click on it and your website just crashes... "your browser is outdated...try a different browser"... the most current version of Chrome isn't modern enough?...

Eventually people just order it from Amazon at a highly inflated price (but with "free" shipping)... and you are sitting there wondering why sales are doing poorly.

Save money with a crap website that makes customers angry... a truly great business model... superb.

I got a dog to deal with nonsense like this...

Wendy already has a Crocodile named Denice... she's a rescue croc (the croc, not Wendy) that often unplugs her computer during renders... I think... I don't eat enough peanut butter and jellyfish sandwiches* so my memory is pretty bad... but since crocodiles are very silent when they aren't busting out sick riffs on their electric guitars, it would probably be cheaper to just take barking lessons... there are lots of places that give them, but I've found a couple of good tutorials on YouTube where real dogs teach you how to bark like a pro... I was raised by canines, so I'm very good at barking and have considered making my own tutorial series on how to bark like a pro...

Barking and growling (growling takes more practice) is a great way of getting people to pay attention to you and is super great at scaring random people away... though occasionally someone will bark back and then you are faced with the dilemma of whether to bark back, bite them or sniff their bottom... it's complicated and that's why I was thinking of making a tutorial... the ones by dogs don't have a lot of English words in them and are mostly "Woof-woof" this and "Grrrr... Woooooo-wooooooo, arf, arf, bahwooooo-woooo-wooo" that... especially those over caffeinated little dogs who talk so fast...

But that was (what you suggested) a idea... if it weren't for Denthor her Crocodoodle... Wait... what was his name...?

*This is a reference to a post in a different thread ("Jaderail is looking down on the Stupid Thread XI") which mentioned memory and jellyfish and elephants and maybe octopuses... it's probably relevant to that, but I haven't had a peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich in a while, so I don't remember.

I can assure you, we are all convinced you are barking.

It reminds me of the dark days before streaming music services, when people would do web searches for MP3 and every porn site would put mp3 mp3 mp3 all over their site so they show up in search results. Similarly, it reminds me of when I was trying to find a good website name that mentions Black people and found that any combination of the words "Black, male, female, man, woman, boy, girl, and people" with .com at the end is a porn site.

Maybe the home improvement store knows they don't have this Rustoleum product but they create fake Rustoleum pages because they figure anybody who knows what Rustoleum is might buy a ladder or something. I'm happy to report blackalligator.com is not a porn site at the time of this posting.

Complaint: My neighbourhood has 3 community gardens that offer raised beds at no cost to people who have limited or no space for their own gardens as part of a food-growing initiative. I have 2 beds in one of the gardens which I visit daily while walking the dog. Today, as I walked in, I noticed that some of my plants were wilted, even though we'd just gotten a good rainfall yesterday. "Hmmm, that's odd", I thought. As I walked further in towards my beds, I noticed the carnage. Damn squirrels! Or so I thought because squirrels and crows and other furred and feathered things can wreak havoc. Plants were ripped right out, fruits were yanked off, leaves were ripped off, and all of it strewn about everywhere. Every single bed got hit. Upon closer examination, no bite marks or pecks on any of the fruits I found. Weird. And then I noticed the broken boards and human footprints on flattened and broken plants in the middle of the beds, and the trash. The entire garden had been vandalized. Who does that?!?!

It took me hours to replant what I could, and then haul water from the reservoir tanks to water them in. I don't think most of them will come back. This was supposed to be a relaxing day. Now I'm loaded for bear.

When I was in grade school, our Report Cards, had a line for "Respect for Public Property".  Such an easy thing to not fxxx up.  But, I'm not sure they monitor that anymore.sad  Should that now have to be a class in high school?

And I don't feel a day over (((redacted)))! Supposed to be slightly cooler today, with a similar gentle drop in the mercury the day after that. Already looking forward to fall and being able to turn the oven on again.

Sepideh HD is only $13.47 at the moment. It seems almost like they have a G9 character at a regular price. I might think about making my first G9 purchase. And then run out of memory with a single naked character.

I had my first poledancing class today, and everything hurts. The instructor also advised me to get a Speedo, so I bought one, and although the size on the manufacturer's sizing chart seems like a perfect match for my measurements, if not slightly too big, this feels very tight.

Pole dancing?  Like this?   (at 8:11)

Cool!yes   But I can understand the tight Speedo.  If I were pole dancing like that I'd want everything inside the Speedo to be very close to me, preferably inside.enlightened

...96° with fire smoke in Portland Wednesday.  Wildfires beginning ti pop up to the south of the city however, the bigger news was a fire at a paper mill to the north that started in large piles of wood chips Tuesday evening  (still burning a day later) and Wednesday morning, an old abandoned K-Mart that caught fire on the northeast side of town.

A buddy asked me to go with them to a strip club. I have told him no many times. NO. So when I was down south looking at houses. He asked me again only if you stopped bugging me, I said. Where this is at are only two stripper joints. He pulled into the joint, one nasty and one classy, and I saw the dancer's stage name. I got out of the car and called a taxi. He asked what I was doing. I said I'm getting out of here before someone sees me. He goes why? I tell him the main act is my great grand niece, and I don't want to be the creepy old uncle. He said ok, let's go to the other I said NO. You don't get it. I'm not too fond of those places. You just tried to get me to look at my niece. He's lucky I didn't stab him with my fingers in his eyes.
