What kind of hummingbird was big enough to drop an elephant? And what was the elephant doing on the hummingbird anyway.
From the Large Book of Lies, page 156:,"At one time, hummingbirds were the size of elephants, and elephants were the size of hummingbirds."
So there.
Oh! OK, I stand informed.
Complaint: Spammers: Oh oh. I've apparently ordered some service from Geek Squad. Or, at least, that's what the email is politely informing me of. But, considering that I wouldn't let GeekSquat touch my computers with a ten foot pole, I doubt that even in my periodic moments of senility I had had agreed, in any way shape or form, to send them money. So, be warned, impersonator Geeks are loose on the Internet. I'd attach a picture of the bogus email, but, y'all know the trouble with attachments at DAZ. The email came from a sender named "whitehurst archie" and they wanted $419.99 for something called "Geek Lite Safe".(*eye roll*) Your mileage may vary.
I've gotten those fake Geek Squad emails now and then. I always just ignore them and send them to the junk folder.
I would ask for clarification on this fact, but I see it's answered before I ask.
Maybe I should rename myself Mr. Oats (Old A** Thin Skin). It would match how I act sometimes. Sorry M.O.D. units, for putting up my thin skin.
Now My Complaint: Slow heartbeat and high blood pressure. Let the weirdness continue. I saw my EKG results. On my chart have to monitor my blood pressure and heart rate multiple times a day. Have

I got up this morn with chest pains and took my blood pressure was high, and my heart rate at 46. I don't see the Doc until Monday, and this is a weight on my mind, and with the drugs, I can't make simple thoughts at times.
Thank you, Grammarly, for helping to type this post.
Bummer about the ticker. Not something to easily put off. I wouldn't suggest being unattended for 5 days. Or at least let someone around you know of your troubles. We, here in the peanut gallery, can only commiserate.
They changed the looks of the web forums. The floating bar on the top isn't floating anymore.
where's the floating bar? I need a drink after finally braving this rotavirus pool!
Non-complaint: It's gone, it's gone. My eye bubble is gone! Yay! Wheee! I just now realized it. I've been up half the day already and hadn't missed it. But a thorough check does not find it. Yeah, it was tiny last night when I went to bed. It was almost 100% meniscus with only a pin prick sized transparent center. Now, today, it's gone. I'm dancin' a jig. Now I can remove my f@#$%'n green warning band from my wrist. Eye surgeon appointment on 22nd of Sept. in Buffalo, and that should be the end of it. Except for his bill for the final checkup, and the $200 round-trip Uber fare.
'Nother non-complaint: Wheee... I've arranged transport for a micro-adventure on Saturday. The local town 5 miles north of me is having their annual (except for the last two Covid years) Town Picnic in their town square. Homemade pies & cakes & cookies. Hot dog & pizza vendors, baby contest, games, cotton candy, chainsawing contest, and most importantly, their fire department's Chicken BBQ lunch. Mmmm..., chick'n BBQ. Longest Running Town Picnic in the USA.
Still more non-complaints: Starting today is the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival (used to be called Lucy/Desi Days) in Jamestown, NY, 8 miles west of me. Also, the Rodeo is in town in Gerry, NY (8 miles NW of me) this week too (oldest consecutive rodeo east of the Mississippi River). All sorts of bumpkin adventures at hand. Wheee...
Uber did recently report their first profitable quarter ever.
Yay, no eye bubble.
My wife is at home; we have been retired since 2015. I monitor it several times daily, and the ER is 2.2 Miles from our house. We get excellent ambulance service. She s an ex-healthcare service worker and only has to press two buttons on our alarm system. For some reason, the fire department showed when a few minutes before the ambulance and had a paramedic with them. They are 5 minutes from my house. I should be ok for now.
I still have one bucket to kick before I go, and that is kicking the bucket.
Is flash dead? If so, why did I install adobe flash?
Yeah, they sent me a thank you letter.
Thanks for the link, WendyLuvsCats!
I love cats too!
Yes, Flash is dead. Ran into the wall of an aquarium trying to meet Aquaman. And just so you know, next time you get toys. An adobe Flash, is a lot more brittle and crumbly than a kid-approved plastic Flash.
Oh, it's so cool to play with the English language, huh?
Complaint: I wish they'd put back the blue bar that stays on top of the page when you scroll down. This website! One step forward, twenty steps back!
It's built for it.
Like my Grandpa used to say, "If you don't stop picking that banjo, it'll never heal!"
...I've been getting those for years. they just go into the Spam folder for deletion.
Interesting, I never bought anything from them but a few years ago was looking at GPUs when they offered sporadic discounts during the last rush. However you had to go to the actual store and wait in line outside the before it opened and even then were not guaranteed there'd be enough of a supply by the time everyone was let in (some people even camped out in front overnight).
...I just brought that up on the Website Navigation thread.
Yeah, a real bugger having to do extra scrolling. Using the back arrow is not always a good option as sometimes it would put me back in the edit window of a post I just submitted.andhas on occasion resulted in a double post.
That's what happens when your test environment IS your production environment..
@LeatherGryphon
...congratulations on the end of the eye bubble.
200$ for Uber to Buffalo and back, Zoiks! Isn't that something like a 50 mile trip each way?
10th anniversary weekend with my wife started tonight (our actual anniversary). Tomorrow we check in to an AirBnB for the weekend.
...happy "Tin" Anniversary (Tin is a symbol of strength and durability).
Happy National Cookie Day for those who can eat them; yay for you
And Sn is the symbol for tin.
Yeah, by time you get to the northeast area of Buffalo it's more like 60 or 70 via local roads (crows don't fly straight around here). No Interstates for most of the way. On local roads, almost a two-hour trip that with the return trip takes half the work day of the Uber driver. Yeah, he might find a rider back from Buffalo to Jamestown, but highly unlikely, Same thing for the Buffalo driver who has to make a trip to Jamestown & back, although more likely, because some people from Jamestown take Uber to the Buffalo airport (as if flying wasn't already expensive enough). The one-way fare to the NE of Buffalo is only about $85 but I tip repectably well, to make up for the other tips he's not going to get that day. Otherwise they'll consider choosing to not take long trips, because of losing potential income by me hogging the car for half a day.
Actually, I'm surprised that Uber is viable in this area at all. I ride with the same few drivers almost every time I use Uber around here, and they're usually hanging around either the hospital area of downtown Jamestown, or the franchise row & the dead mall on the west end of Jamestown. They don't get a lot of rides, and are often still waiting in the hospital area when I need them again two hours later and get to me within 5 minutes when I'm in the city. I'm just grateful that they still do operate here, because the taxi's around here are rusty disease vectors driven by zombies and cost more than an Uber. Getting one in Jamestown is iffy, and still operates in last century mode (i.e. make a phone call then twiddle your thumbs for an unreliably specified period of time wondering where your ride is and when it will get there and where to meet him). Whereas, Uber has their wonderful app that lets me know exactly where the car is, who will be driving, how long I have to wait, when I'll get to my destination, and how much it's going to cost. And I can communicate with the driver before he gets to me. Yay, Uber! HOWEVER, as good as Uber is, and how useful they are to me for transport, they don't support Uber food deliveries, nor Uber Reservations around here (a scheduled pickup at the symphony at 11:00 PM, 14 miles outside of the city, would be nice). Sometimes I'm so desperate for decent restaurant food I've considered having it delivered, but the only place I've found around here that will deliver out to my little town, is a wonderful pizza place that is now defunct.

Two weeks later and everything is still the same... maybe worse...?...
Cool idea with the blue bar going away when I scroll down... I like having to scroll up and down for no reason... it's exercise my fingers wouldn't ordinarily get...
I think the entire menu should move around randomly like one of those weird Google games where it's a puzzle you have to figure out and if you click on the right parts in the the right order, you don't get an error message for at least ten minutes.
I also just noticed that the image thread where I used to upload images to actually freezes up two posts earlier than it used to... so I can only see posts up until July of 2021... There's progress there... things are actually getting slightly worse.
And the twentysomething "Something In Your Wishlist Is On Sale!" emails in a row the other day was a happy surprise... especially since I hardly ever have gotten a sale notification for anything I've ever actually wanted that was on sale... those seem to get lost... but the one thing in my wishlist that was on sale, that I probably accidentally wishlisted, generated twenty plus notifications... honestly, that's probably my fault for not putting everything on my wishlist, then I probably would have had more things that I deliberately wishlisted show up... even if I didn't actually want them, at least the relevancy would be more aligned...
Egh... interneting is tough and in the grand scheme of the universe does any of this really matter?...
The oceans are warming up and the orcas are practicing for when the sea levels rise sufficiently enough for them to swim into our homes and eat us, so I'm just being a big baby complaining about website functionality when there are bigger fish to fry... literally... big fish frying in the ocean... not the orcas, they are marine mammals... but I suppose they are frying too.
I better end this before I accumulate too many words and get an "Internal Server Error"... as cool as that sounds, it's actually pretty annoying.
Cheers.
