  • Just wanted to add that I like the character you are working on.  She looks good.  @Dracorn is right.  You are getting much better at using your morphs.  :)

OK, Saphirewild - here are some pictures to help you locate AoA's Subsurface Shader Base.

First, check your Product Library and filter for "Subsurface Shader Base."  It should show up.

In Daz Studio, go to your Content Library Tab.  Open the twistie for Daz Studio Formats, then open My DAZ 3D Library.

Scroll down to Shader Presets, then you should see Age of Armor.  Under that will be Subsurface - that's where you should find the icon.

You should also be able to find this under Content Library, Products, the letter - S, Subsurface Shader Base.

If it isn't there, open up a Help ticket, because it should be included with Daz Studio Pro.  Here's the link to it - it should show as purchased.  Also when you scroll down, you will see that it says Included in these products: Daz Studio 4.9 Pro.

Here's another tip for finding stuff that was imported through DIM.  It's useful when some products are split and show up in different places.  Under Products, they are all thrown together.  Since I categorize my stuff, I like to use the link where they are organized.  For example, Calla Cascade Hair separates G2F from G3F and has the Iray and 3Delight materials in separate folders.  Beats having to hover the mouse over every item to see what character or render engine it is for.

Click on the Installed tab.  Scroll down or filter for the item you are looking for.

The (i) is where you will find readme's or PDF's if they are included with the package.  If you click on it (outlined in red), it will take you to the link where you can find instructions, and any additional documents if they are included.

See the arrow at the far right of the line (outlined in pink)?  Click on it.  Then click on Show Installed Files.  Some packages will have LOTS of files.  What you are looking for here is the .duf and the .png.  In this case, it's at the bottom of the list.  You assume the front part is Daz Studio Formats, and My DAZ 3D Library.  The rest is where you go under that category.

...Somebody's gonna have a dirty knee.  Very cute.  Where did you get those cool horse textures?

Your scenes often have that down home, everyday people look that is friendly and natural.

Pretty sure those horse textures are from Sharecg

  • dracorndracorn Posts: 2,345

Yes, but I was hoping for a name to help me search for it.

  • IceDragonArtIceDragonArt Posts: 12,548

I think I have them, if she doesn't get back to you by the time I get home from my appt. I will look them up for you

  • dracorndracorn Posts: 2,345

    Great, thanks!

  • SaphirewildSaphirewild Posts: 6,669

Thanks for the great links Sonja, but I did not get those textures from shareCG!!

I got them from FA (Fantsy Attic Free Zone) from Dreamweaver Designs

Thanks Dracornfor the very nice comment I do try to give the real life down home feeling to my renders, it is how I see it in my head while putting the scene together.

  • IceDragonArtIceDragonArt Posts: 12,548

Oh well, I tried lol.  I am to fantasy attic to go and get them then lol.

Thanks for the link, Saphirewild.  Unfortuantely, these are for the Mil Horse, which I don't have.  I think even the LE horse isn't free anymore.  Oh well.  I use Daz Horse 2 and the Hivewire Horse.

  • IceDragonArtIceDragonArt Posts: 12,548

My second link is for the hivewire horse...Don't let the fact that they are toon coats fool you, they work very well on regular horses as well.

Thanks.  Too bad, though I like those zebra textures.

Saphirewild:  I'm just about ready for my first tutorial.  I wanted to get you started categorizing.  I imagine that you have lots of stuff by now, so you are going to need lots of patience to go through everything.  I would get so tired of it I would just quit after a while, but I got it all done.  I will post a link to your thread when I am finished.

  • dracorndracorn Posts: 2,345

    Ok, Saphirewild!

My first tutorial for Categorizing is under this thread:

Age of Armor's catalog is on sale right now, Saphirewild - as part of the one day build your own flash sale.

Don't know about your budget, but if you can possibly afford the Advanced Lighting Bundle, get it.  It will make an enormous difference in the lighting of your scenes, and it renders faster than UberEnvirionment2.
