Ok, the advent calendar gave me the free option for a 4th day after spending money. My last purchase was on the 3rd. My purchase before that was on the 28th, and I got the free option on the 2nd but not the 3rd. So I'm assuming every purchase gives you the free option for the 4 following days. I'm going to spend today because I don't want to miss out on the free option tomorrow. And spending once in 4 days is really reasonable, especially since $1 giftcards seem to count.
Also, I filled my wishlist with DO's yesterday. 135 items now, although a few of them are probably too recent, too expensive, or DAZ+. But most should qualify. And indeed, both my calendar options today are from my wishlist. I'm a happy camper!
so... DAZ+ freebies are no longer free for non-members if they're in a cart with other items?

One of the other regular forum users, can't recall who, mentioned it didn't work for them last week. Nothing on the memberships page about it, but then that was one of the best-kept store secrets.
I haven't seen anything from a mod or staffer, though. I'll pop over to the Reports thread & ask.
I've made two purchases during this sale, one for a $15 GC, and my freebie from that was a texture set for something I don't own and will never buy. And then yesterday I bought a Mousso figure on sale, and tonight my freebie is this: https://www.daz3d.com/armory-stands-volume-4. My freebie is literally a rock. It's like giving someone coal in their stocking for Christmas. If I didn't know better I would say the Grinch is working for Daz.
And I've added a bunch of Daz items for under $25 in my wishlist since a few days ago. So there is plenty to choose from. But I didn't get anything from there. I'm not really digging this sale so far.
As far as I can tell, it appears that you need quite a lot of DO's in your wishlist or the system will pick random items. No one knows what the minimum is but yesterday I had 70-ish DO's on my wishlist and I still got random picks. Today I have about double that and now both my free item and my 2.99 items are from my wishlist.
For the first time since the sale started today I opted for the $2.99 item instead of the free one. I can't remember what the free item was, but the pay item is a collection of G9/V9 poses that I've wanted for quite a while. Even my LD came through this morning with E3D Shayla G9 for $3.43. I'll be happy to play with these for the rest of the day, but I'll keep checking back...
Yup. I have over 400 DOs on my wishlist (assuming some are inelligible, new items, bundles, and Daz+ items), and every day so far I got 2 items from my wishlist to choose from.
I liked it. Shows a level of self-awareness I wasn't sure they had.
Maybe this is the right forum for my question.
I have a question about the punch system: is spending at least one dollar counted net of a possible coupon or not? For example, if I buy a DO item worth $6.50 and use the 6 euro DO coupon, spending $0.50 is it enough? Is it considered a purchase of 6.50, which is therefore sufficient or is it considered a purchase of $0.50, therefore interrupting the series? I hope someone answers me quickly, so I can finish the purchase in time.

today is the first day not getting a free item in the calendar. My last purchase was on the 2nd. Unfortunately, todays 2.99 items dont really interest me, but I might buy the Vagabond hair and texture just to get a few more free items.
Ok, I'll have to add more then, I have 90 items in my wishlist right now, and 65 are DO, but some of those,10 are Daz+. So 55 regular DO items. I thought that would have been enough. I'm probably right at the cusp of the system working for me. So it looks like I need to add more DO items to my list. I'll be doubling my list today!
I have about 60 Daz Originals on my wish list, and of those more than half could not appear in the advent calendar due to being too expensive/too new or DAZ+.
So far all the items I have been offered, both for free and for 2.99 have come from my wish list. I have no idea why the items being offered to some are not on their wish lists, but I doubt it is because you need a minimum amount on there.
With 24 days to go I will likely need to add some more, if indeed no item is offered twice. However I have been offered the same G9 item for 2.99 on two occasions so far.
Today, my free option is some random DO I have no interest in - just like every day I've been eligible for a free one (so every day but Wednesday & Thursday of this week). My $3 one today is off my WL.
To get back in, I bought Thursday's $2.99 HoliDaz, Desert of Desolation & last night I finally got the Minerva Christmas bundle for $6-ish dollars! So we shall see if I get a really good freebie tomorrow.
I don't remember prices being this high since the original $99 DAZ Dragon days, and I'm a Premier member. A single character is $32 and that's with a 35% sale? I've got single outfits in my wishlist that are $33 and a posable book that's $25. After two and a half decades, you guys are on the verge of pricing me out of this hobby. Guess it's good timing that I'm getting more experienced with ComfyUI.

The only hobby I see myself being priced out of is buying at DAZ though. Rendering images with what I have does not depend on keeping on buying.
I'm pretty much done. I was going to buy the 2.99 calendar item just to get the free calendar item going again and I just emptied my cart. My other hobby is music synthesis and the equipment is overalll fairly expensive, but I founf a lower cost line of products that cost me less than what I have been spending here. I'm changing focus for sure.
What character is so expensive? since understanding the sales model of DAZ,, I rarely buy a single item that is less than 88% off or more than $5.
At the moment, it's Dain 9, but he does go on sale for more than 35% every so often. I also wait for big sales, it just seems like things start out with higher base prices now and you have to wait for a once or twice a year sale to really get the best discounts.
Even this Christmas thing has gone downhill fast.

If Daz wanted my money, it's not really working out, only spent $4 (with my $6 voucher) for the Gen9 cop restraints
It's an expensive characters indeed, Even non-DO new characters are cheaper than this.
DO characters all seem to be extremely expensive, I guess this is to get people to buy the bundle.
From what I’ve seen, Bundles usually have better discounts than single characters.
I believe the closer to Christmas the better prices will be.
Well, I boosted my wishlist to 160 items earlier tonight to see if it would make a difference, 125 of which are older Daz Originals, but my calendar freebie item tonight was still just a texture set for an old clothing product from Genesis 2 that I don't own. And the $2.99 item was something I just added to my wishlist this evening, unfortunately its not really worth $2.99 (it has sold for $1.79 in the past many times throughout the year).
You know, I think it has much more to do with your recent spending here than with the number of DOs. I have maybe 30 or 40 DOs in my WL that could be eligible for freebies, and so far, I've gotten a free offer every day. At the start of the calendar, I had even fewer DOs in my WL. So I don't really think that this is the problem for you.
Yesterday, I got tired of spending every day on stuff that I feel is too expensive right now, and that I don't really want, and I can confirm that I've still gotten a free offer today in the calendar. So that works. I'm kinda sad though, I really wanted to participate in the christmas sale, I don't even mind the punch system. But it's mean to be dropped down all three tiers right away after not spending for one day, and the discounts are just not any good really, at least not with DAZ+.
We used to get a percentage off during christmas as a kind of appreciation for having spent money here during the year, it was relative to the amount you spent. That made sense to me. This new system really doesn't, sorry.

the only explanation I can think of is that too many of your wishlisted DO's are DAZ+ items, I think they don't count.
... or my theory is wrong. I'm sorry you're getting bum deals, it's frustrating.
That doesn't really track with how things have been going for me, though. I got a couple things during the utilities sale, and then spent $20 on the Zeddicus sale the following day, and after that I've done a daily cheap buy to fill/keep up my punches (so far LD has offered me at least one cheap thing a day that I could see using at some point, which is unusual). But my spending was pretty much nil for the three months prior to that. And yet I've gotten WL offers on both advent calendar items every day so far. All of them have been stuff I've seen quite cheap over the past year, but they've still been from my WL, and when splitting the cost between my buy-in and the item, I'm satisfied with the outcome.
ETA: 312 DOs on WL, 54 of them D+. A quick eyeball and guess says 60 of the 312 are within the last year, but some of those are also D+.
Last few days the calendar got bad. At lest 3 times the 2.99 was items bellow $19 that while on my WL i was hoping to get for free. The freebies got worst and worst, today is texture addon i dont even have on my WL and the 2.99 is also a texture addon that is on my WL. I have plenty $20-$25 items in WL similar to what i was offered in the 2.99 a couple times yet those are ignored and my offers are get useless free or overpriced stuff. If it does not improve at least a little i will not even keep purchasing $1 GC to keep this going.
Today my freebie is a texture set for an outfit that's actually on my WL. The paid is poses for the G8M Yeti & that pose set has probably been on my WL since I got the Yeti from the 2023 Advent calendar.
So the algorithm has improved slightly. Yay?
In other Daz Advent calendar news, yesterday I wanted the wishlisted Headset that was my paid option - but fell asleep before checking out. (Guess I didn't learn my lesson when I missed AprilYSH's freebie.) Because I was tired from working all day & then an evening RPG session running long, or because I am still under-enthused about the 2024 holiday sale? You be the judge.

Huh, no you're right, that doesn't track. Guess it's all a big mystery then. I'm right sorry for the people who're not getting freebies from the calendar either way, that was different last year.
