From the Premier page: Exclusive content, that "is active as long as Subscription is active". Great, rented content, just what I never wanted. Even assuming that it's content I'm interested in to begin with.
The same goes for the tools. Thanks for the offer, and I'm sure others will be interested.
How to get Premiere:
Go to the DAZ-installer. There will be a bannerlink to actually upgrade.
I have 6 month Daz+ left and got the offer to either get a free Premiere month OR upgrade AFTER that has expired.
No idea wether that is standard or tiered to the length of the Daz+.
Good luck
As an Australian, the conversion rates are what's going to kill me. With what looks like no ability for a yearly subscription, US$9.99 a month is going to kill me financially. That might only be a rise of $4ish but for my limited income that means even less money spent here. I'm a pensioner hobbyist and this is my escape for being housebound but it's looking like this isn't going to be a haven for me for much longer and after 21 years, that bites.
I do hope the loss of the 8 months I still have is just a glitch due to the updates.
Hello
I think our current status is still existing. I have a personnalized offer (orange message) who send me to a choice when I click on "learn more" : convert to Daz premier or stay daz+ if I choose Daz premier I have two month free which correspond to "my last days" of Daz+ (4 month daz + remaining).
Can you check on your side ?
I trust daz enough to not steal our money, it never happen beforie :-) !
I think the programmers or whom ever are chasing their tails with trying to update everything. When I logged in just before, it said my membership was basic, free. Now it is saying Daz+ with my 2026 expiry date.
For those that happen to have Daz+ membership months left over check all of your banner messagea. One of them will state something about a personalized offer which takes you to a choice of whether you wish to upgrade or stay current to Daz+.
Oh! Got a personal offer. Staying Daz+ until Oct 2025 (worth 120 USD) or switch to ONE month of Premier (worth 20 USD). Uhm... no, I think no. I'm currently feeling like leaving Daz+ store for this. We'll see if it was worth it, to treat existing members like this.
I typically renew annually for PC+ during the sale when its discounted (~$40-50/year). It kinda seems like maybe there won't be the same sorts of deals on the membership if it's going to be just $9.99/mo. now? I don't think I'm that interested in premier based on what I'm seeing so far. I hope to stay at least PC+, but if we are doing $120 a year now... that's not a small increase.
The thing I hate about Daz is the complex pricing. I hardly buy anything now because it is all "buy this to get this for this with this". Now they're making it even more complicated. Slow clap.
The thing is, I wouldn't mind paying that much a month if it was giving me access to something that I didn't already have... like full access to DAZ's entire library of products at no charge, for example. Hey, I pay less per month for my Envato Elements sub, and for that I get full licensed access to use over 20 Million assets. This is more like someone noticing kids feeding the ducks at a public park, then coming in the next day and putting up a sign that reads "Feed the Ducks - $18."
The Orange banner that I received was for 8 months of premier which is not a fair comparison to the 4.5 years left on my current Daz+ membership
By that standard, Daz would never release anything.
Firstly, I do find it kind of odd that the new interactive tutorials are locked behind the subscription. Anyone have a summary fo what they contain?
Secondly, theres been quite a few products (both free and paid) released that did similair features to what is avalible in this. Whats going to happen to them?
Thirdly, and this is moreso site related. But I think the recent changes messed something up, because I can't see if my current subscription is on auto renewel. Anyone know where that piece of info went?
Yep, same. I'm hoping it is not paypal OR country related.
I haven't looked at what we get, but I'd really like that to be a level playing field with PAs. I'm getting pretty bored of the answer "only a PA can do that". In free software, you accept it. In paid software, it's another matter.
So I'm looking for HD morphs for accurate indentations where clothes press on skin, and the ability to move strant-based dForce hair for the numerous occasions when the hair goes through things. If those things are available to artists, then please make my day!
I just have one question: Previously the Daz+/PC+ monthly/weekly freebies were free with purchase for non members, is that now no longer a thing? Are they fully off limits for the less fortunate of us?
Edit: I tested it, seems like the two shown on the sale page still work this way. I don't know about future monthly/weekly freebies.
This seems best for new users. I already have tons of legacy content, bought more in the PA sale including lots of scripts from Code66 so I can't imagine what extra in the program I would need. And if the "free bundles" are just for rent and you lose them when you cancel, there's no way on earth I'd sign up for that. Also, if Daz+ is going to increase in price, I'm definitely canceling in April when my subscription expires. I have more content than I'll ever need and hiking up the price for Daz+ is not conducive to renewing. They keep coming up with these new membership tiers and offers of free content sight unseen and so far they've all failed.
They lost me at the part where you lose the ability to use the Premier content you paid for as soon as you're no longer a member.
As for the freebies... given how I so very, VERY rarely give a toot about the ones we're offered as Daz+ (or even most of the DO character bundles) I can't say this is tempting.
It should still be there (I can't check, I cancelled auto-renew a long time ago), the previously used page to manage our subscription and find the coupons: https://www.daz3d.com/subscription
Same.
I was a Daz + member until 2026 or later but now, I seerm to be a DAZ base member. Where is my existing membership?
It should be here: https://www.daz3d.com/subscription
Is that page still "active"? It's there, but not officially linked anywhere, so is that info of any use, like if you change the recurring payment checkbox? There is no way to manage it with the new page.
Just throwing out an idea here, as the 'upgrade' offers don't sound all that great for people that had renewed their Daz+ memberships through say 2029...
How about INSTEAD, you just offer a $9/month discount on Daz Premier throughout the duration of your current Daz+ membership? Since you already paid for Daz+, this just seems like a fair deal.
$18.98 - $9.99 is roughly $9.
Just a thought.
I don't know and I can't check: I cancelled auto-renew last year on Daz and Paypal and I was waiting to decide if I renewed it, waiting for an offer during the Daz+ sales. No idea what I'll do with the new Premier system because they are a couple of unknows I would like to understand, but hopefully, how everything is working will become clearer as bugs are fixed and questions are answered.
Look for an orange banner to address your existing membership options, or check your Messages inbox on DAZ.
Edit: I would imagine a third option is to just let your existing DAZ+ subscription expire and then become a DAZ Base member.
I guess DAZ is working with PA to integrate the latest upgrades of these plugins into Premier, because that's the only way it would be good for anyone. Then there's a good reason why Mesh Grabber 4.0 has been delayed.
Yes I see ! may be a bug for long term subscribers
Having sort out the paying and how the upgrade works with the orange banner, I'm now left wondering what I get for the money. I don't expect answers to these, it's just to illustrate my issue with the information on offer...
- What is the free "legacy content"? Victoria 4? Older Genesis 9? The most basic or the most comprehensive?
- Do I keep the assets as I do with the Daz+ ones, and lose only the add-on sofware features, should I decide to stop paying?
- How do the export options differ from the bridges? Or the scupting from Mesh Grabber?
A one minute video and a sentence per feature isn't really enough when you're spending this much.
As a basis, always decide if the price of the items in your cart is worth the trade in real dollars *to you.* Regardless of scary clocks ticking down, tokens expiring, bright red percentage discounts, bundles, magical combo items, doorbusters, "you win today" banners, etc.
If you subscribe to Premier, you get two monthly coupons worth $10 each. IF you have items from each coupon category that you *know* you intend to buy, and IF you assume there will be a sale sometime each month that will let you use both coupons to create a final price that you would find agreeable, you break even by subscribing to Premier that month vs shopping without any subscription at all. (A big caveat here that the memberships page now says the second coupon is "$10 OFF of $25 on select items" which might be different than the "$6 OFF of $18 on all PA items" Daz+ members are currently accustomed to seeing. ie the new monthly coupon might be more restricted?)
I have always disliked tokens because they only cater to whales. (ie People who spend lots of money at once.) Folks who typically buy small carts can't really utilize tokens and are less likely to get agreeable carts during smaller sales. Regardless, with Premier you'll now be able to buy $40 worth of items to recharge your token pool vs $80 worth of items with Daz+. That will absolutely add up IF you intend to keep shopping most of the sales.
All the other perks are dubious/speculative if you already have a big product library. (Freebies, exclusive bundles, pull from existing content which many long time Daz+ members already have.) You *will* inevitably get a few extra freebies, better gift card discounts, a little extra cart discount during sales - but good luck predicting the value/frequency of that. The Daz Studio software enhancements are pretty well covered by 3rd party plugins, but maybe the built in tools are snazzier/preferable to some? It sounds like "Daz Studio Premier" is even a separate app, maybe that's more convenient to work with?
To the Daz team, what I don't want to see is those third party plugins disappearing, or Daz Studio becoming a subscription-only software, or software that needs constant internet to use the content we already purchased. Someday Daz will probably want to merge "Daz Studio Premier" with "Free Daz Studio" to not have to maintain two apps or feature sets, and at that point they'll probably introduce a login screen. I just say I love the simplicity we have today, of opening Daz Studio anytime anywhere and getting right to art. <3
