    All,

At the end of this thread I'll have to hand over the reigns to maintaining the freebie list.

It was good to see it updated and thanks to everyone for giveing us more toy's to play with.

Have fun. I'll pop in once in a while to post new things and graphic novels but things will be slowing down.

    -Paul

One a side note, Shadowhawk1 pointed out some new features you Poser users are getting soon. I may have to revamp my learning Poser here soon. An Autofit feature that works like it should, FAR SUPERIOR dynamic cloth (a feature that DAZ has dropped the ball on by only allowing one company to have a monopoly on so far) and Pixars OpenSubDiv ( http://graphics.pixar.com/opensubdiv/ ) -Think of this smoothing jagged edges, the blockiness of V1-V5 had will now be corrected making things even better. oh and the clothing room...OMG does that looks fricking awesome! Over all better everything! Things that DAZ is only tinkering with looks to be fully implimented and better utilized.

    I'm jealous!

Now I'm caught between two things. I like new toys, but the DSON things look to be...difficult. A simple loading of genesis in Poser I think or hope would be best in the latest version of Poser....But to be clear here. I'm not starting a war of render programs, I just wish I had both programs in one so I had the best of both programs at my finger tips.

I was wondering when we would see this message Paul. You have done an awesome job with your stint behind the wheel, a completely revamped freebies list complete with sub categories. I know your new job is going to keep you humpin', so don't be a stranger around the forum.

As far as Poser 10 and Poser Pro 2014, oh yeah I have my credit card all ready for that! I tried DS4 and 4.5 but with being a Poser user for so long I had a lot of workflow issues, but there are some really great features that DS has that I wish Poser did. One being the autofit so I am looking forward to seeing how Poser gets it done. I also agree I wish they could take the best features of DS and Poser and mix them together and have a single program that is the best of both worlds!

Getting back on Topic I guess this means I need to get off my but and finish up the extra textures for the MU jumpsuit I did for you so you can post the links here before you step down.

Okay ... please do NOT add this to any lists just yet. It's a "draft" for testing scale. Thank you.

It was, I thought, sized okay for the little people in D/S3 BUT on my testing in D/S4.5 seems to be rather on the large side.

edit to remove no longer required link ... updated material may be released 'later'.

Paul, you've done wonderfully, and I hope that our next holder of the reins is as dedicated as you've been. I wish that I could offer, but I am unreliable, and I don't wish to make a promise I would probably break.

I haven't played much with DSON at all, so I'm probably missing something. However, the only difficulty I've experienced so far was following the directions for installing the DSON plug-in for Poser. After that, when I load a DSON figure (Genesis, Daz Horse 2) I get some message that it's doing some conversions, and then it arrives.

Are there issues I should be aware of? It doesn't seem to take any longer to load Genesis than it does V4.2 with all of her morphs installed . . .

(Edited to add well-earned thanks, which should have been there from the start.)

So for him who wanted it ... want it smaller or is this okay?

Okay, after getting me signals crossed for most of the evening, I finally caught on to things ( Yes, people he can be taught! LOL!)

Patience55, I had to scale things down by 20%. The wall and door in this pic are at 80% and look close enough to right.

Okay, thank you. I'll get the adjustment made and carry on with the rest of the set.

edit: I've removed the link for the draft file.

    You're welcome.

I've got a start on some furniture for the room. As most probably know by now, my dear ol' Hexie isn't going to model an entire set of anything all at once. So I'm remaking this set piece meal. Hopefully when all the pieces are done, I can package them all up together and post them where they should also be posted. I mention this as there are probably a few people from both sites here and who may be wondering. I'm not sure what's happening over there ... downloads still appear to be at crawl speed, which would make uploading impossible ... so hopefully all that gets sorted out too.

I'll just have to hope that nobody's characters are desperately ill as this is going to take awhile lol ...

Okay ... so that would then go to whoever starts the next thread, so they can edit the links ...

So ... let's see, we start posting the names of everybody who likes freeware and hasn't contributed back yet ... and watch that list grow real fast lol ... [well I can hope, like new toys too]

If we were holding a board meeting, it would be the last person who enters the room.

We could draw a line on the floor and ask people to step forward who wish to volunteer for the position [and watch everybody take a step back ... better do this one on that Vulcan cliff lol ... ]

oh dear, Firefox needs to close to install an update :-)

TWOK transporter in DS4.5 pro - rescaled and placed textures that could be found - no other setting played with

Has anyone tried this thing in regular Daz Studio? Are the two programs that different?

an easy fix for ds users is to copy the obj and mtl files into the folder where the textures are and import from there, then it can find the textures.

That's odd, I get the .pz3 scene file importing perfectly well into D|S3 and D|S4.5 — although there are some "missing" elements saved on someone else's "D:\ANIMATIONS\" folder that don't seem to make any difference when I skip them.

Surprisingly, the supplied lights work quite well, despite the handicap of appearing to be the old bog standard default Poser lights, turned around a bit. All I had to do was turn them all white and turn the intensity down a bit.

There are some "glow" effect ambient maps, the displays do look better if you apply them manually. Although some of the prettier ones are a bit small and unsuitable for closeups. And don't forget to turn the smoothing angle down to 25, it really makes a big improvement.

Isn't there a "transporter" effect freebie floating about out there somewhere? ISTR it was mentioned a few times in the old forum, that's all this scene really needs to work very nicely in D|S.

It's in the Freebie List. It's at Sparkysworld:

Thanks. And now that I know the .zip file name, I realise I have it sitting in my bunch-o-freebies folder. :red:

Ooo, very nice! It even fits perfectly on the transporter pad.
