I hate snow.
I hate ice.
I hate Vanilla Ice (but that has nothing to do with the weather and is completely unrelated)
I hate heavy icy snow...
I hate that damn huge 4ft deep 20 ft wide snow drift across my driveway which keeps coming back every time it snows...
I hate shoveling out a 8 foot by 50 ft path so I can actually use my driveway... I hate the stupid @%$&<?§•¡™# who designed my crummy snowblower... I hate the friggin' plow guy who failed to plow our street until it was too late, then sealed the end of my driveway in a 5ft high wall of icebergs...
But then I have to keep that to myself because my daughters LOVE snow... and this catastrophe was the only real snow we had all winter... and after all the digging and cursing, I still end up making a stupid snowman (who for some unknown reason they named "Scott"... I mean who names a snowman-"Scott".... really)...
I really had it today, the roads were crazy dangerous with huge slabs of ice everywhere, flooding, fog and STUPID drivers, driving in the fog with no headlights on... yeah, a white car with no headlights on in the fog pulling out from behind a 8 ft mountain of snow... and you still expect finish your McLatte and live to see the next American Idol.
Idiots.
Sooooo many BAD drivers making a bad situation worse. Really, I think we need a sensor that detects if it is too dark or murky out and if you don't turn on the lights- it electrocutes you... forget turning on the headlights for you, we have those, people just turn it off... this just kills you- BAM! You had your chance- shoulda read the manual!
That seems a bit over the top, but at least General motors sent me a letter thanking me for my input... Ford sent me something that looks like a restraining order and BMW said they might incorporate it into some of the models sold only in Germany... they are VERY serious about driving over there.
I really want to win at the lottery, not so I can buy myself fancy cars and a working Ironman suit, but so I take my winnings and go to some corruption riddled little country and bribe someone over there to make me the ambassador of... I don't care what... bottle-caps, LOL cats or avocados... who cares, whatever you got... all I want is to be able to go back home with diplomatic plates, so I can weld extra steel I-beams to the front of my army surplus hummer, so when some nimrod with no headlights on emerges from the fog 3/4 of the way into my lane, I don't have to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid them... "Tsk-tsk... sorry, yeah, I know its not your fault, you dropped your iPad while you were face-timing with your girlfriend and you didn't want her to see the porn mags under the front seat... but yeah... diplomatic plates... so gotta go... have a GREAT day!"....
I can dream can't I. So what if my dreams are dark and vengeance filled. I'm a malcontent, malevolent entity, I never promised anyone a rose garden... really, though... who promises people rose gardens? Cash, lewd acts or fame... but a rose garden?
I'm done...
Well, I hope everyone here at DAZ who lives in the Nemo-Zone got home safely.
See ya later.

Normal tastes good with ketchup I hear, but it also gives my gryphons indigestion. They tend to stay away from "normal".

Rose gardens smell real good and if you underplant with lavender the scent is a pretty good headache cure :)

Alright let's see here...

So around 1PM I gathered up my stuff and my grandfather and I headed out the door and back to home. Just as we were turning onto the Ukiah Road, we had to turn back because we forgot some papers back at the office. So we took the 15 minute drive back and got them, stopping at the post office on the way back (And picking up my copy of Civilization III in the process!).

Once back on the road we got stopped for some time because of some construction work going on >_<

Then, nearby where I got my cat 13 years ago, we got stopped again. Technically we could have kept going, but we turned around.

Why? Well we saw someone lying on the side of the road ><
When we got out there was already someone else checking on the person, who saw the guy fall from her house. There was quite a bit of blood on the ground DX

So what happened... The guy was apparently getting out to get his mail and got dizzy, then fell and hit his head pretty hard. There was quite the nasty gash on his forehead, and a real long one along his arm. D:
He seemed pretty dazed too, so... Eep D:

I personally have never seen this much blood - with my own eyes (As in not on TV, not in a medical guide, etc) before =/

The three of us helped him up an into his car while we called for a medical ... um... thingy. They got there shortly after the bus dropped off the niece of the person who was there helping us arrived. She certainly seemed a bit shocked. I mean, I know I would. Some blood on the ground, an injured person, and an ambulence arriving shortly after you get home from school? Meep!

So, in the long run, I think it was a good thing that we got delayed so much when starting our drive. We wouldn't have been there to help if we hadn't :3

You done good :)

Why thank you...it's nice to know.

Complaint: my arm still hurts from shoveling. Even when I just rest it on my lap while watching TV, it aches. I really have to start doing some weight training again. It's been too many years.

I imagine you can't use blowers to clear snow like you can with leaves because wet stuff is heavy. Still trying to imagine what it would be like if it snowed here. WE get ice storms where big blocks of ice fall out of the sky, but it all melts in minutes :)

Sipping a cup of tofu miso soup (made from a packet), so nice. :)...

Interesting, I would have thought it would taste even better if it was made from tofu and miso paste (rather than a packet...).

*runs away...* ;-)

There's more fiber in the paper!!! :-P %-P :P

Now eating Campbells Chunky Sirloin Burger, yum!

Do you like spicy? Diane has a recipe for that soup called Mexi-cali burgers. It involves stewed tomatoes, diced up a bit, chili powder and Minute rice. It makes a quick and easy one-nighter for us.

Dana

I love spicy, but I have to watch the rice - carbs are a problem for me (I'm diabetic). If I don't use much rice, though, it sounds like a winer!!

It's pretty simple. I think Diane uses half the recipe for the one night for both of us. She makes is so that it is not soupy when it's done, it's moist but not like soup with a lot of rice in it. It's more like a stew or casserole. Put it in a bowl and eat it with a soup spoon! Yum! I looked for it, but that recipe box is a jungle. So I Googled it and found it right at the top of the list. Mexicali Burgers :-)

Dana

Forgot to say, she uses half the can of stewed tomatoes and saves the other half. You can freeze them. Or you can use them for something else the next day, I guess.

Thanks! Looks pretty good, I'll give it a go! :cheese:

What do you currently have? A ceramic hob is easier to keep clean, but they are relatively slow to heat (and to cool after use). Gas is generally reckoned to be best for cooking with, as it is more-or-less instant to respond.

i have an apt size electric stove. it's a lil narrower than the common stove, my roasting pan is too big to fit.

i haz to settle for rendering the kitchen of my dreams for now. lol
