OK, 82 at midnight is a little tough. But I had many nights like that in the apartment we used to live in. And only a oscillating fan...which actually just blew around the warm air. :lol: But the breeze did evaporate the sweat and made it seem like it was cooler.

The air gets so dry in Southern Australia stuff literally shrivels as you watch. The early Aussies learned a thing or two from Aboriginal culture about keeping food, at least, a little moist with a Coolgardie Safe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coolgardie_safe
Can't really complain about the weather here in California this past week, even though it has been kind of like being on a yo-yo. Bright, sunny, and warm one day and cold and gloomy the next. Enjoying a bit of rain today. Should help the blueberry bush I planted.
I hope you both come through the heat or snow in your areas OK.
I've said it before and will say it again... I absolutely do no miss the summer humidity I endured while growing up in Connecticut, on the east coast of America. I'd always rather bundle up in the snow during winter then suffer through the heat and humidity of summer back east. I like to breath my air and not drink it in, thank you. Not having the humidity out here is the only thing that lets me endure the occasional 110+ Fahrenheit summer temperatures in the mountains and valleys. Unfortunately I'm not quite close enough to the coast to always enjoy its cooling effects, but the world does disappear behind a wonderfully thick and mysterious wall of fog now and then. ;-)
The humidity is tough sometimes, but I always say, I'd rather sweat than freeze!

You'll just want to have lots of ships at this stage and hammer them to heck, but I rather advise to find unoccupied planets and occupying those and sending out outpost ships to systems without planets (but with a gas giant or asteroid belt).
...well woke up from the nap. Ended up longer than I planned, but then again, I have been getting so little sleep the past couple nights.
Feeling a little better in the physical sense, but still a bit sore. Down at the corner cafe drinking herbal tea so I could get a bettter connection.
Checked in on the company's activity site, looks like they got socked pretty hard with orders today. Will most likely find out if I've been sacked when I go in tomorrow.
In some ways would be a relief as I probably will be terminated anyway once the client in question finally pulled up stakes as handling the day to day affairs, order processing/shipping, workflow tracking, and billing for them was basically my responsibility. At the very least, no more four hours of my day taken up with multiple bus transfers, long waits and (on occasion when I'm stuck there late), long walks.
Even if they do keep me on (no doubt after a reprimand, for what, I still don't know), I decided I'm still going to look for something elsewhere. Work is work, and there is no "perfect" job. However, when the environment is one that involves a lot of negative reinforcement with little of the positive (save for the semi monthly pay envelope), it begins to wear on the spirit and there comes a point when one needs to simply move on.
Hopefully I'll be able find something closer in that I can bike commute to again (or even walk to). That alone would be about a 115$ savings a month which would help offset whatever reduction in pay I experience.
Turned out to be a rather nice day weatherwise, seasonably cool but sunny. Not bad for an unscheduled and unpaid day off.
Going to work every day at a place that you no longer enjoy working at is very tough. If there is negative energy directed at you by higher-ups, it's even tougher. You will eventually get sick or explode in a fit of rage or something. It is best to either settle what's going on or to move on.

...yeah, one of the main reasons I am so beat when I get home every evening is not so much from the physical or even mental demands of the job as it is from the emotional drain I feel there.
It is even harder when it takes two hours to get there and get home.
The job by itself is fine and I actually like what I do. It's having to deal with all the politik that often gets in the way which is becoming harder and harder to deal with.

so I was looking for some stores on an online directory. I selected Washington, D.C. as the "state." The state then directed me to Washington STATE, not the federal city. Uh... I saw listings for Seattle and Olympia. I keep thinking that Spokane is the capital of the state. I think Spokane is a regional transit hub for airplanes at least.
To bad there wasn't a place on the website to type in a zip code like 2xxxx. I'm going to email the administrator to see if they can fix the bug.

Early on your posts reminded me of a job I held recently, but at least I had a fairly good boss. I really hope your situation improves! :)
Is the two hour commute due more to the use of public transit or the distance you need to travel? The one thing I will say for public transit is that I was able to get a lot of reading done when I had to take it. I hope you find a similar benefit in its use to offset the headaches.
...transit, three buses each way and a lot of waiting/walking due to service reductions. Where I work is also in a poor location if you ride transit.
It's not so much the ride as it is the extra time it takes out of my day. Sometimes I'm lucky to have a couple hours when I get home to just make dinner before I have to turn in to get up for the next day.
Feel I'm pretty much living only for the job and this morning's experience didn't make it any more pleasant.
The one thing that daunts me about doing a job search is my age and the fact most of my recent experience (almost 18 years) is rather specialised in working with this client's account.
I'll have to try that. I didn't know herbal tea could improve an internet connection.

Until recently he actually did get out in the plant and worked.
What I feel is happening of the stress of losing our oldest and most stable client (one he personally brought into the company). He personally knows the client's founder and has been close friends with many of the long timers there. In essence, this client was "his baby" and has been the "bread and butter" for us since before I came aboard over seventeen years ago. It must have been a huge kick in the gut for him when they said they were leaving. So I actually understand where the frustration and anger is coming from.
Just that I happened to step in the way of it this morning.
