Good one, MelanieL!
(They laughed when I started wearing turtlenecks to every party I went to! Well, who's laughing now!?)
Please excuse the utter geekiness of what I am about to say...
Having nothing better to do with my time, as my boyfriend has deserted me to build rockets (he's a geek, too), I have written the ultimate Excel macro and included it into a sample RRRR spreadsheet. (I warned you... Geek.) Anyway, I am so excited about it, I've decided to share it.
I have grown weary of generating random numbers, going to my ridiculously long runtime list, and then manually copying and pasting the four items from the list. And some of you poor folks have to generate FIVE or SIX numbers. More copying and pasting. Waste of time, right? SO, I have made a macro-enabled Excel spreadsheet (2007 or later) that (once you enter your runtime data into the spreadsheet) will randomly generate as many items as you tell it to.
You can download the spreadsheet here: http://www.karibousboutique.com/files/RRRR_Generator.zip
You will need Excel 2007 or later to run it.
There is a readme inside the zip file that explains this, but I'll post it here anyway.
This spreadsheet works because it has a program ("macro") built into it. Since untrusted macros can be harmful to your computer, Excel is very picky about letting you run them.
You could just allow ALL macros to run, but this really isn't safe. So, to allow Excel to run this macro-enabled spreadsheet, do the following:
1) Unzip the spreadsheet to the folder you would like to use it from. DON'T OPEN IT YET. (Excel will just yell at you if you try.)
2) Open Excel.
3) Click the Microsoft icon in the top left corner of the Excel window.
4) At the bottom, in the blue bar, there is an "Excel Options" button. Push it.
5) Select "Trust Center"
6) After the "Microsoft Office Excel Trust Center" heading, there is a "Trust Center Settings button. Push it.
7) Select "Trusted Locations."
8) Select "Add New Location"
9) Browse to the folder where you have the spreadsheet saved. Hit Okay.
10) Close Excel.
11) Start it up and open the spreadsheet. Should work fine! :)
If you hit the "Generate Random Items" button without entering a number, Excel will patiently wait (FOREVER) until you type a number in the box and hit "enter." Then the button will work.
It's really very easy to use. I'm not ashamed to admit that my own version of this RRRR spreadsheet has 4 separate worksheets in it... One for each major content marketplace (DAZ, RO, RDNA), and one that mixes them all together. Alphabetically.
Anyway, I hope at least SOMEONE will use this. I made it for myself, but why shouldn't you all enjoy it too? :)
Oh, one caveat... If you have more than 32,767 items in your runtime, this won't work. I've made all my variables "Integers," which can only hold up to +32,767 items. Sorry!
Thought I'd show off a screenshot of my RRRR Generator with my next pull. (I'm just using my DAZ Library for this one.)
For Pull #3, Excel spit out:
2062 Parkside Head Interior
676 Deena Hair
606 Dainties for Boudoir Bliss
1900 Mystic Sun
See screenshot to see how easy it is!!
Hey, if you really get bored maybe you could look into doing something like this for the open office org spreadsheet program. This looks really cool, but no Microsoft office programs here.
Um, if you have more than 32,767 items in your runtime..., you're probably Totte!
BTW, what version of Excel does this require?

2007 or later. It saves as an "xlsm" file, which is a macro-enabled excel file. I might be able to save it for an earlier version, but I haven't tried. VB hasn't really changed, so the macro should run in older versions, but Microsoft deals with security a lot differently now.
I saved it as an .xls file (2003 and older). You can find it here:
http://www.karibousboutique.com/files/RRRR_Generator_older.zip
If you have 2003 or older, let me know if it works.
Sorry I've been out of this loop for a bit till yesterday, so lots to catch up with...
Luci45 "Coast Guard Serenade" - nice one, love the monkey!
"The Giant's Latest Trick" -
Zawarkal "Revenge of the Nerd's Day" - good expressions!
"The Great Gallery Hoax" - quite a striking image there (both of them)
"Folly on the Slopers" - cute imps!
Storypilot ".. That Wasn't the Salt Shaker" - beautiful image, I love the dreamy atmosphere
Ken Obanion "That Sucker Better Be Real" - ah, the ...
"One Way to Win the Ladies" - dark (in every way)
"At the Valhalla Off-Ramp Truck Stop Cafe" - ooh er! I see why you wanted to check the rules! Really funny one
gopherus "My But What Big Teeth You Have" - you got a real feel of movement there and the teeth look like a great fit
Totte "Office Kindergarten" - oh dear, someone's parents are a little lax!
barbult "Time Travelling Pranksters" - nice one, I like the idea
KaribousBoutique "Worst. Date. Ever" - nicely done, love the colours too
"Best. Date. Ever" - ah, the pair! Not as pretty, but very funny
And thanks for the comments, Totte and Ken
Naa, just 3300, I don't think there is 32767 items out there unless you vaccum all the really weird sites or collect thongs at Rendo....
Your wish is my command:
http://www.karibousboutique.com/files/RRRR_Generator_OpenOffice.zip
I've never used OpenOffice in my life, so... Anyone examining the macro will quickly see I have NO idea how to use OO Basic. (WAY different than VB) My macro is very clumsy because I only used code explanations I could pilfer from the internet. And since OO lacks the zillion paid software engineers of Microsoft, the OO Basic macro editor crashed. Frequently. However, it all seems to work. And if you never look at the macro, you'll never need to see how lousy I am with the language!
Unzip, run, tell it you'd like to run the macro.
Let me know how it works!

594 = MachPack (shaders)
That's funny Melanie!
RE: MelanieL#3
That is very clever use of multiple environments! Well done, and funny too.
Lame Prank at the Palenque Cafe
Tag: Luci45#4
Trying to play an April Fool's prank on his blase customers was a dismal failure for Big Jim. His friend Rob later explained it to him. "Look in the mirror, Jim. If that doesn't disturb them, then releasing a few grosbeaks in the cafe won't either."
Dream Home - Eclectic Dressing Rooms Decor
Coffee Shop
Grossbeak

Title: Friday Night at the Drive-In (With Apologies to George Lucas)
Tell me you've never done this! Now get me to believe it!
And now for the penultimate (man, I do so love that word!) draw:
401 - The Darkness
80 - Earane Unimesh Fits
525 - The Old Waterhole
1554 - Touchdown Star
Well, I must say, this is..., seriously random!
Looks like I picked the wrong week to give up "recreational pharmaceuticals"...! :P
Lol. That really IS Vegas!
Final Reel - April's Fool
(She's always falling for the wrong guy)
Finally got around to doing one. Yeah!
This was my pick:
Dainties for Boudoir Bliss
Addison
Clyde Barrow's Ford B 400 Sedan (Rendo)
Bus Stop Vignette
The Ford just screamed film noir!
Characters & Car Rendered in 3ds Max
Composited with Vue
I pulled "Dainties," too! Just finishing mine, though it's a much different take. I REALLY like this one -- lots of drama. Film Noir is one of my favorite genres. Fantastic! Question about your workflow --- how'd you get Genesis into Max? Did you go through Poser? Or is there some Studio-to-Max path that I am unaware of?
Oh, and I turned Boudoir Bliss into a .cr2 and put it on V4. Used 's Blakrunner's script to convert the .dsa texture into a .pz2. Tweaked bump, etc.
Also used A Curious Schoolhouse (Jack Tomalin, DAZ3D), Terradome (Colm), Nica for V4 (Godin), Them Bones (Orestes Graphics), and various Ron's Brushes (deviney). Rendered in Poser Pro 2012. Postwork in Photoshop CS6.
This didn't feel like an RRRR entry... This is the kind of tragic, girly thing I do all the time. Anyway...
Title: The Ghosts of April
She'd followed him to this forsaken place so they finally could be alone. She'd thought they would become lovers. She was wrong.
Now she stands in the window, looking for the murderer she'd once loved. April may have been a fool, but she won't ever be fooled again...
My 5th pull - four environments!!! But I'm going to make it work. (it will only get worse if I pull replacements.)
Tribal Spellcaster
Northern Head Interior
MKL Railway Carriage
DH Garage Decor Ecclectic
Technopolis (at least this one is new.)
This one turned out to be not as tough as I had originally feared - I just hearkened back to my own high-school days, and visualized one of my own fondest fantasies! (Yeah, that's me, in the glasses and the Beethoven T-shirt!)
I was a bit worried when it came time to render it, though, because it took for-freakin'-ever! (Maybe 3 V4s and 2 Davids was a bit excessive, now that I think about it.)
Anyway....
Also Used:
M4 Urban Wear (Pants)
Diamond Hair
Charlotta Hair
David (x 2)
David Clothing Pack 1
Hunter for David
Concrete Extant for David by Adzan
Lauqes Hair for David (What, no Jamie!? Sacrilege!)
Elven Arcana for V4
Branwen Hair
Demona (sandals on two of the V4s)
Dystopia City Blocks (Skydome)
A couple of sword props I had lying around (What's a NVIATWAS render without the S? Or two?)

Title: Revenge of the Nerds
After three years as captain of the football team (and alpha bully) at Millard Fillmore High School, Michael learned a salutary lesson: THOU SHALT NOT HONK OFF THE DRAMA CLUB!
I have decided that my last entry was not challenging enough. I have, therefore, opted to select FIVE items from my ENTIRE runtime -- not just from my DAZ stuff. So, here's my Pull #4:
4369 Rons Hydro Explosion (DAZ)
280 Andoria City (DAZ)
2551 Insatiable Desire for Corset Line (RO)
5315 The Fabricator (DAZ)
4871 Soleil for G4 (DAZ)
I will admit to one (very small) "cheat." I will be using my Fabricator for Poser. (I own both, and the pull is technically for studio), but it's otherwise identical. I shall try to be witty and original. You all are beating the pants off me for brilliant ideas!
Beautiful render. What is the April Fool's joke? Maybe it needs some descriptive text to explain.
Well, this is it - my "last hurrah", as it were.
Pull Number 7:
431 - Goth as Fashion for Victoria 3 and Stephanie 3 Petite
924 - Underground King M4
1256 - Darkwave
1054 - West Park Basement
Hmm, lots of Goth, with a dollop of Glam. I'm getting a vague sense of deja-vu here; something tells me I've been down this road before....
(And I really need to be more discriminating in my acquisitions! Underground King for M4? What the hell was I thinking!?)
Oh, well.... As Debbie Harry famously said, "Once more into the bleach!"
