Luci45 "The Snookification of Nevertown" - I may be missing something here (like what is Snookification???) but it's a beautiful render, I love the misty atmosphere.

Snookie is a character in reality TV show Jersey Shore in the US. She is kind of an icon for trashy low-life behavior.

Ah, right, thank you - now I follow (I'm in the UK where we have several such trashy reality shows of our own - possibly inspired by the US ones!)

Yes! And make sure you have your tag on it. We vote on images in the other thread, which is not all cluttered with comments. The other thread only has images with tags and titles. I think Totte explains it in the first post of this thread with the rules.

Ah, yes, good ol' Jersey Shore - described by one reviewer as "the worst thing to hit the East Coast since 9/11." (The reviewer was being kind.)

Then again, it was produced by MTV, so it's not as though we weren't warned!

Thanks for all the nice comments.
Sorry I have not participated much except for renders. Here are a few comments from me, all at once:

    Totte
#1 Not real sure I want to know what is going on here...
#2 I love the Brians. I'll bet you've watched that movie a lot of times...
#3 The Scissor Lift again!!! Perfect for getting a horse and cow unto a plane.
#4 Ooh, I love this one, especially the colors and shiny floor reflections! I don't know how you do six items. I can hardly do five. That is a pretty mean trick!
#5 I love this one! Great articles. You should do graphic novels.
    Barbult
#1 Wow, that hillarious, quite a prank. Great use of both hairs and other props, and the expression is perfect.
#2 Hehe, that's great, really funny and a real tour de force with all that stuff!
#3 Wow, Time Traveling Pranksters. I'll bet they have fun. It looks like it!
#4 Nice prank and a pun to boot. Very nice render too.
    Ken OBanion
#1 Very funny. Nice expressions. For faster rendering I turn off displacement maps and sometimes bumpmaps for things not close to camera. Also I use a lot (probably too many) of LoRez figures.
#2 Haha. I like the look on his face, like he has no idea why she would react like that.
    #4 Hmmm. very, ah, Ken...
#3 Well, it's still there, so I guess the TOS commottee didn't get you. I love this one! One of your finer efforts, for sure!
#5 I gues he's in the trunk to avoid paying? I remember paying by the car.... I think. That was a long time ago.
#Penultimate Nice render! Great lighting. I guess it would take a while with the large cast and the tranparency textures and all.
#6 I didn't see the Mythbusters! episode, but I wouldn't want to get on an elevator with those characters either.
Polka Dot #1 Looks good! What is the prank?
Kaputcha#1 I love the wolf poses, they are a hoot! The winged llama is pretty cool too.
    gopherus
#1 Very twisted; I love it!
#2 Really bizzaro, especially the story!
#3 That's an intervention! I love the expressions. and real cute -"She never expected… THE SPANISH INQUISITION!"
    MelanieL
#1 Yeah, nice prank, guys. Teenagers would do that. LOL.
#2 Oooh, Melanie, that's a dark one! Very nicely done. You got the Ecomantics - Efficient Ecosystems to look good in the background. I haven't been able to do that. Maybe I'll try again.
#3 Great solution to a really wicked pull and quite an April Fool trick too.
#4 This is so good! I love the guard's smug expression.
#5 LOL Cal will be in the doghouse soon.
#6 Nice use of all the environments. And I guess your computer didn't explode.
    Zawarkal
#1 I love the poster once I zoomed in. It looks great with the 'toon figures, Nice contrast and their expressions are good.
#2 I love the Lightning Flies extra. It looks like you got stuck with a crappy prop - the Spook Tree freebie, Using it as a lame piece of art is a great use for it.
#3 Oooh, bad little aliens! That's funny!
Storypilot#1 I love this one, but I think I mentioned that already. So many nice things including the little story.
    KaribousBoutique - Welcome back!
#1 Poor girl! I love the colors and her look! She should be afraid.
#2 Oh, you didn't ! yes, you did! It's the other side of #1. OMG, so wacky!!! A cross-dressing, winged troll with awesome hair too. What more could a girl ask for?
#3 Oh, that's a beautiful ghosty thing! I love it! Any and everything can be RRRR including sad girly stuff! You worked the April and fool in there beautifully.
#4 Very nice render and fun prank!
bohemian3 - Nice render! I love the water and flahlight beams. I know there's a prank there somewhere...or is there?
emsim #1 I love the little flowers come out of the gun. Rudy has a wicked sense of humor. Your renders are always so beautiful. Are they rendered in Carrara? Or did you import the ocean?
warmblood#1 This one is soooo nice! You do great things with 'toons. The color, lighting and composition are great.
Kyoto Kid #1 Hehe, this one is very cute! I am guessing a “Chemist’s shop” is what we US folks call a pharmacy or drug store

    606 = Jeweled Finery

By the time I've figured something out and done it there's a good chance I'll have missed the deadline, but I suppose I'd better give it a shot!

Well, I found myself with a whole free afternoon (weather iffy and Grand Prix racing on TV so husband content in my absence) so actually did this well before the deadline...

Luci45#7 -- The expression on Nenok’s face is priceless! (*sigh* "It's worth the exploding hair. It's just once a year. Just once a year." *sigh*)
Kyoto Kid #1 -- I used to be a "Dr. Brown" kind of chemist, which always tickled the Brits I went to college with. Though MY lab never looked like his!! Amazing details!
MelanieL#6 -- Now THERE is an April Fool's prank one would never forget! The balloons were a great touch. *tee-hee!*
barbult #4 -- OH NO!!! LOL. The idea is brilliant, though also warped, twisted, and sadistic. My favorite kind of idea!!
MelanieL#7 -- *giggle* the zebras do, indeed, look like they're wondering what those ridiculous people are doing!

Before I post my image for pull #5, here's pull #6:
    3133 West Park Legacy
    2838 The Promenade Deck
    183 ArtemisX
    3092 Village Courtyard

I MIGHT be able to sqeak this one in... it should be delightful... Anyway...

    Tag: Karibousboutique #5

And, now for my next pull... Again, challenging myself with 5 items.
739 DM Kerricks Throne (Danie, marforno)
    2264 RM Dioni A4/V4 (Rebelmommy)
3191 Winter Wonder 2006 -- Snow Lake (LaurieS)
    795 Dragons Rest (JGreenlees)
    2219 Red Sands Temple (Larsen)
Like Luci45#5 -- FOUR environments! Ack... I hope I can be as creative as she was!

I was quite pleased to discover that "Dragon's Rest" was NOT an environment, but a texture set! Shew! Still, Snow Lake and Red Sands Temple together threw me a bit. Also used Base Camp Vol.1-3 Bundle (The AntFarm), ElfAge (4blueyes), Ron's Angeldust (deviney)

So, here's what I came up with.
    Title: Her Own Little World
Amaryllis (pouty mistress of the Northern Tundra) repeatedly complained to her sister, Jade (powerful sorceress queen of the Nile River Valley) "You're so SPOILED here! It would be nice if I could just wave a wand and have MY own little frozen world to rule!" On April Fool's day, her sister gave her exactly what she'd wished for.

So, I'm all done for this contest (and just in time) - looks like most people are done now, as there's not too much to catchup, except:
barbult "Flatware" - I love it! Nice POV. Glad the squirrel's going to make it - I guess the sushi bird will be OK too (they usually are)
KaribousBoutique "Her Own Little World" - very good! The poor sister's face is a picture.
Thanks for the comments, Luci - I find Ecomantics rather useful (though rarely the whole presets, more often just a couple of tree and bush planes partly buried and overlapped). No, my computer didn't explode this month - fingers crossed it will still be going next time :)
And thanks too KaribousBoutique - yes, I'd forgotten I had the balloons till I fell over them searching for something else!

Thanks gopherus, Luci45, KaribousBoutique, and MelanieL for your recent comments about the posted photos.
And yes, the "flatware" sushi bird will escape in plenty of time. He will see that his companion has already been alerted to trouble and will follow him into safety. Robins probably don't really care much for sushi anyway, so not much point in staying there.

Thank you gopherus, MelanieL, KaribousBoutique and Luci45 for the comments. I actually had intended to be more active in this contest this time around but it didn't work out. I really enjoyed everyone's entries though. You all have some amazing imaginations!

Luci, my entry was rendered in Carrara. I forgot to mention that little detail. :-P I always seem to leave out key information when I'm telling things to other people. Drives my husband nuts because I'll start explaining something in the middle of my thought instead of at the beginning, assuming that he was following my thoughts all along. Ah well, I'm actually glad I don't know any mind readers!

Shew! Snuck it in under the wire. Here's the last one from me. I actually had to reinstall Vicky 3 and ArtemisX because I have no idea which external hard drive my Gen3 stuff exists on! Also used Xylia Double French Braids (AprilYSH) and Faery Tales for V3 and Laura (shesa).

    Title: Captive Fool
On April 1, 2877, Xandra and her rebels tried to overthrow the evil Empire, hoping to return their home to the glorious land of peace and prosperity it had been centuries ago. They failed. The Empire, in the cruelest example of April Fool's Day satire, imprisoned the rebels in cells that look out onto a holographic image of the land they'd fought to resurrect. From now until their deaths, Xandra and the rebels will look longingly at a place they failed to save... close enough to see, but never to touch.

    First pull:

    27. Anime Star Fighter
    336. Summer Character and Hair
    377. Ultralight
    137. Folding Screens

Hmm. I have a partial idea (fortuitously enough, I was already planning an Anime Star Fighter + Folding Screens render, but it'll take a little work to incorporate the other elements, plus an appropriate dollop of humor).

"Congratulations, Cadet! Let me show you to your new craft." Summer struggled to keep a straight face as she began leading Mike towards the hangar. "One of the aikos is preparing it now..."

Yeah, Kyoto Kid is right on both counts. Great renders everybody...voting will be a challenge for sure!

    Also used:
    Neo Station, as mentioned
Things from Anime Star Fighter bundle: Stinger, Mech Girl, Mitsu Hair
    Supersuit x2 and Supersuit Troopers
    Wildmane Hair
Hitomi skin (on A3 for Genesis...)
Mike, as I recall, is a mix of M4 shape and Basic Male, with Elite Jeremy skin

you know your thoughts are much more positive... I saw the scheme as necessity to complete the image which led me to feel that the theme challenge was too hard, hence I stopped after three images. If I had thought about it being clever I might have tried again. :)

My final catchup for this contest:
KaribousBoutique "Captive Fool" - now there's a clever way to get too many environment sets into the one render - one inside another!
Scott-Livingston "Congratulations, Cadet..." - poor man! Nice idea.
and thanks for the comments, Kyoto Kid.
Well done to everyone - some great stuff entered - so good luck in the voting when it starts!
