I'm still struggling with pull #4 but I think I'm slowly moving a tiny bit in the right direction....

Beautiful render. What is the April Fool's joke? Maybe it needs some descriptive text to explain.

Ooops... forgot to mention the name of the picture and text - edited post. Yes, I'll admit, it's a little obtuse, but I so wanted to do something film noir.
    Thanks for the head's up.

Not only did I have to pull 6 items.. one of them is a bundle. Boo.

But I can do this. I think.

    148 Candle Collection
    152 Carnival Extravaganza 1
    Carnival Midway
    Midway Games
    Fortune Teller 1930 for V4
    Joint Flash for Midway Fun
    Working Man for M4
    Finger Wave Bob
    Colors for Timeless Male Hair
    205 Courageous for V4
    231 Daz Sheep
    533 Lands of the Sun
    772 Picnic Basket

Hmmm. Getting an idea, but not sure what the April Fool's joke is yet.

Yupp, but I'm gonna spend the rest of the contest time making it as it's worth doing, so it's worth overdoing!

Soon converted 20 props from the Log Cabin Construction Set - MegaPack to Vue.....

    My first pull:

    667 - Desert Eagle Pistol
    1267 - The Core
243 - Cosmic (Texture for Space Dweller for M4)
    776 - Lisa's Botanicals: Forget-Me-Not
    470 - Working Man for M4

I actually have an idea for this. We'll see if it works out...

eta: also used Jai Hair, Casual Slick Hair, Sea Dragon, and a piece of Lunar Craters Moonscape. The ocean came with Carrara.

Ok so my original idea didn't work out and it took me a while to finish but here it is finally...

Well, this is it - my "last hurrah", as it were.

    Pull Number 7:
431 - Goth as Fashion for Victoria 3 and Stephanie 3 Petite
    924 - Underground King M4
    1256 - Darkwave
    1054 - West Park Basement

Hmm, lots of Goth, with a dollop of Glam. I'm getting a vague sense of deja-vu here; something tells me I've been down this road before....

(And I really need to be more discriminating in my acquisitions! Underground King for M4? What the hell was I thinking!?)

Oh, well.... As Debbie Harry famously said, "Once more into the bleach!"

I ran into a problem with one of my pulled items. The geometry for the shirt for the Underground King M4 outfit is all goobered up; the cuffs collapse to a singularity, where they're supposed to be all lacy and frilly and..., well, you know - David-Bowie-on-bad-dope-ish.

I tried resetting the download and re-installing, but that accomplished a whole lot of bupkis.

Since I have absolutely no intention of pulling the OBJ into Blender to fix it, I've pulled a replacement item. And that item is:

    729 - Drama Queen Drama

    Great. Poses.

Anyway, my revised draw is as follows:
431 - Goth as Fashion for Victoria 3 and Stephanie 3 Petite
    729 - Drama Queen Drama
    1256 - Darkwave
    1054 - West Park Basement

So I guess it's back to the drawing board....

To give you an idea of what the problem is, here's a quick render of the outfit, as it installed and loaded into Poser 9 (which I normally use for character composition, when the character is not Genesis). Note the sleeves....

UPDATE: Just for S & Gs, I did open the geometry file in Blender, and it looks just fine. So I brought the figure into DAZ Studio; loads without problems, works great. So I tried it in Poser 8, and it caused Poser to hang. something flukey in the CR2, perhaps?
In any event, I don't feel like doing battle with it, so I'm sticking with my re-draw....

@warmblood#1 good one! she doesn t have to reach far to pull the wool over her clients eyes!

    And for my fourth pull:
    952 = The King's Pass (again!)
    425 = Aredhel (Elf) Hair
    100 = Multiplane Cyclorama
    594 = MachPack (shaders)

I couldn't initially work out how to fit the Cyclorama and the King's Pass together as they are at vastly different scales, but then I discovered an Ancient Egyptian Cyclorama texture in my Runtime, which gave me this idea ...

    TAG:MelanieL#4

    Title: Mission Impossible

Laura and Jonesey were visiting the Museum of Antiquities where they were excited to see a scale model of a temple complex, which they knew had never been discovered - perhaps this should be their next mission?
What they didn't know was that the model was a pure invention, built by the guard to fill his long hours of boredom outside the tourist season.

    Used:
Laura and the Guard both have Aredhel (Elf) Hair
Laura's and Jonesey's clothes are all retextured with various MachPack shaders

    Also Used:
Museum Guard = Genesis with Raphael for M4 skin texture, Corsair for Genesis clothes and Rosemaryr's (freebie) fez
Laura = Gabi for V5 with Tankini, shorts from Mall Girl and Headkase's (freebie) Sensible Shoes for V3
Jonesey = Genesis with Stefan skin, Town and Country shirt, pants and boots, Teen Swag vest, SAV's (freebie) Indy hat and Tempest's (freebie) Versatile Tentacle morphed as a whip
Table from East Terrace retextured with Pimp My Prop, with glass-shadered primitive as the display case
Props and Egyptian backdrop (applied to the Multiplane Cyclorama) from Treasures of Egypt 1 & 2
Barrier from Cheapskate's freebie Railings prop, retextured with metal and rope shaders from Gemologica

Thanks for the comments, Totte, barbult, KaribousBoutique and gopherus.
Looking back a couple of pages...
Luci45 "Lame Prank at the Palenque Cafe" - well, you might hate it but you're getting your moneys-worth from that Cafe!
"Daniel's Childhood Wish" - hilarious! Wonder where he'll wake up?
Ken OBanion "Friday Night at the Drive-In" - never been to a drive-in, I guess they're trying the "cheap seats"?
"Revenge of the Nerds" - plenty going on here, yes those girls look mean
"??next one??" - pity about the re-pull, I'd have loved to see what you might have done with the original pull "the man with the pointy arms"?!
bohemian3 "Final Reel - April's Fool" - very noir! Love the light effects and the ambience
KaribousBoutique "The Ghosts of April" - dark again, like the fuzzy background and misty lighting
emsim "Having Fun with the New Recruit" - you've got that snakeskin looking very slimy - nice posing too
Totte "Do you belive the papers on April 1st" - thats really funny, you must have spent quite some time on that...
warmblood "I see a tall dark stranger..." - lovely colours and so much going on there, really nicely done
gorpherus "Ashley never expected..." - love the idea, really funny - pity you didn't actually pull a Morphing Python!
