If I were to buy that, I would have to be able to order it on DVD. It would take me a week to dl on the speeds available to me. :gulp:

Happy Birthday, Wooly! I've got a few years on ya!

One question...why the Diet Coke? With all that alcohol, it can't be calories or sugar you're worried about. :-S

    Dana

Actually, I'm diabetic - it's just well controlled.

Interesting medical fact: if you drink a fair amount in a session, your blood glucose will actually DROP - it's possible to become hypoglycemic if you're not careful! :bug: I've experimented on myself and yes, it's true (even my doc told me so). Alcohol will eventually metabolize into blood sugar but the pathway is different than for normal food, and apparently f you drink enough your body decides to stop cranking out more sugars. It's weird.

So,, the diet Coke helps make sure that I don't get a nasty glucose spike before the alcohol effect cuts in and my glucose goes down! :)

So - no meds last night (metformin/glyburide and alcohol do NOT mix), about 16 chicken wings, a six pack of Real Ale, and about 1/3 of a bottle of Luksusowa potato vodka and.. my glucose this morning was 128. :bug: That's pretty amazing, very low for someone with my condition!

I don't recommend to anyone you do what I'm doing unless you have a very open-minded doctor and a willingness to roll the dice on occasion.. if your body reacts badly you'll have to know just what to do to deal with it. Being divorced, no kids, no debts, no people counting on me for anything except the folks at the office I can get away with the occasional bouts of idiocy (heh).

I even have leftover wings and pizza rollers so I don't have to leave my room today! :cheese:
