Rendering animation is always super compute-intensive. The longest animated clip I've made was 20 seconds, using Inspire3D (cut-down Lightwave) and it rendered for THREE DAYS on my at the time state-of-the-art machine. (shock face)
You need a bunch of rackmounted machines to be render slaves, that's pretty much the only solution. (frown)

my buppy been snoozing all afternoon, the walk in the hot-hot wasn't healthy for him.

and the first 30 min or so i was focused on 'where do i know that dude from?' = one of the jedi master or snakes on a plane?
Here I am on my tablet PC, sitting in bed, downloading over 300 Kindle books. Boring!
But it's a Needful Thing, I want to start catching up on my reading before bed and sitting in front of the main laptop isn't going to cut it.
Only 275 more books to go.. argh.. that's my complaint!
Complaints for today:
Bored, even have Idea for cool render but just get so bored playing with the Polygon Group Editor.
The weather did yet another 180 degree flip flop so now the bone gnomes are happily at play again.
It's Sunday here so nothing, and I really mean nothing, but re-runs on my 500 channels of crap to choose from, choose from, choose from.
Non Bad stuff:
I have a cool Idea for a render, that does not happen very often anymore, my muse packed it's bags and left long ago.
It's Sunday, so good Sunday dinner is in the works, thick T-Bones grilled over hickory coals for din din.
My med's have the bone gnomes under control mostly but my ears all poppy today from them, not bad, just odd.

DS seems to handle the lighting I'm using pretty well, it seems to really slow up when it hits the Viking ships for some odd reason.. very strange.

transparency mapping tends to cause 3Delight to take a good hit in render times.
...yep, currently working on a Xin Xin pic that has lots of plants as well as hair and fae wing tansmaps. test render just grinds along even on my beast.
Whew! All 325 books loaded onto my tablet PC! What a process, but it's done!
Re-rendering Ye Auld Kilometre Long Pike, as I stuck a ship in it's mouth and misposed it.. urgh. 30 minutes down the drain.
I guess it's too late to take a nap, but I might anyway.. need to stay up late tonight to watch Call Of The Wildman!
...finally finished the scene I've been working on over the last several weeks. The "daddy" character built on D5 looks so much better. Hair rendered beautifully against the SteamZ transmap. Would post, but connectivity is giving me fits, frequently going into "Dormant" status (took nearly forty five minutes to submit a job app/resume earlier - what's new?). Most likely will barf if I try to attach the pic as it's 1,200 x 1,200, so will post it tomorrow from the hotspot.
Definitely need to get to Comcast this week.
Have to do the weekly grocery run...
is too hot to render. too hot to walk to the store. out of beer and yogurt. it's like living dead, or dead inside, but with home made unsweetened ice tea.
