    One of my favorite parts:
Hulk and Thor bring down one of the giant metal dragon/snake ships. They stand side by side atop it.
Thor is looking pleased with himself.
Without looking, Hulk sucker-punches Thor out -of-frame, then grunts.
    I laugh every time. :D

The boat will be crunchy on the outside, but with soft Viking filling inside! A tasty treat for a kilometer-long pike!

..sasinfrassinragginsassin site software logged me out again. Thirteen bloody months. They can find the time to roll out a new Genesis and Vicky but they cant find the time to fix the bugs in the bleedn' forum software. I tell ya, we're all second class citizens here.

    OK that off my chest.

Nice work there. Love the Pike chompin' on one of the longboats.

Awwwww, thanks! (red of face) Lots of work and learning, but I learn best/fastest if I DO rather than just READ.

Still no smileys. Daz is lame. (frown)

Diet Coke and cold pizza for breakfast, yum! Great way to wake up after a 4-day weekend fighting kilometer long pile.

Need to write today while waiting for bug reports.. Olaf is going to get surprise.. hee hee!

So hard to wake up.. coffee next... sssssssssssssssssnnnnnnnnnzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Bored. Nothing is going wrong, all the testing seems to be going very well. Discovered the cause of a puzzling issue I ran into Wednesday just before the kicked us out of work. Can't get a new assignment until the current 2 pass testing. Running a test myself but it involves sitting here watching my stopwatch for an hour. (blank face)

Soooooo, working on Part 3 of Olaf and the Giant Chicken! W00t! Go Olaf goooooooooooo! (smirk)

Sculptural Genesis looks good.. wishlisted for Payday. BTW, I think "wishlisted" should be a word.

Olaf and the Giant Chicken: Part Three

    Olaf sat in freezing slush
What brain he had, it felt like mush
To come so far and get so near
Olaf wanted to drown in beer
Even worse, so trapped was he
Never might he get himself free
The walls were icy and quite slick
No way the shoes for snow would stick
In the dip was Olaf stuck
It seemed like he'd run out of luck.

When suddenly, a voice he heard
A tongue that dripped with golden word
"A Valkyrie" thought Olaf, "I can tell"!
Each word rang like a crystal bell
"Yo stranger', it said, "Don't give up hope,
I'll throw you down a bit of rope
Grab it quick, and there's no doubt
I can pull you right on out"
Olaf knew that he'd go thither
When down the rope to him did slither.

Ola grabbed, the voice cried "Hold fast!"
And Olaf took off crazy fast
He shot out of the frozen dip
Across the snow he then did skip
"What mighty thews", so Olaf thought
As on a rock his snow-shoes caught
He spun a bit quite like a wheel
And soon let out a girlish squeal
He drew his axe, and struck the ground
And halted with a crunching sound.

    His rescuer did Olaf seek
And when he saw, let out a squeak
    A shield-maiden, with flaxen hair
    Possessing quite an icy stare
A sword she held, of metal bright
So big and sharp, gave Olaf fright
    Armor gleaming like a gem
It really got the best of him
Olaf gawked just like a loon
At maiden brighter than the moon.

    "Thank you, shield-maiden so strong,
I'd frozen if you'd not come along".
"My pleasure", she said with lips like flame
"There's really no one that's to blame
Across the ice you sure can go,
But never run in shoes for snow
The snow is full of dip and pit
And you'd just fall right into it".
Olaf knew her words were true
But stare was all that he could do.

    (to be continued)

I shuffled off to Buffalo now I'm dashing for the fire extinguisher! (snout on fire face) Only medium hot but they got hotter overnight! I'm awake I'm awake I'm awake!

Summer festivals sound nice - but here, they're all during some of the hottest weather of the year! I expect it to be n the 100s for the hot sauce festival next month, it's been that hot for the past 3 years! Wear a hat and drink LOTS of cold beer, I guess.

If you had gone, maybe you would have been tied up and spanked, omg!! TESFest sounds like the Folsom St. Fair in SF...!

Guacamole is made from avocados, spices, and sometimes salsa. Avocado normally has a mild, rich taste - good with turkey or rost beef on a sub! (yum emote)

...all this talk of guacamole & salsa means it's taco night (homemade of course) at Casa de Kyoto. (somehow that just sounds wrong).

Wooly, ya gotta watch out for those wings. Unlike a fine wine which gets mellower with age, they tend to get nastier.

Love chapter three. Nice introduction for the Shield Maiden. Looking forward to seeing her and Olaf. I keep picturing Valeria from the first Conan film (when she reappeared in full armour near the end).

Love to get a job with Boeing. Talked with a friend who works for them here in Portland at a sub assembly plant and they have a backlog of over 4,000 planes to fill. Unfortunately when I go to their jobs website, pretty much everything is Engineering, Manufacturing, Testing (as in flight testing), or IT/Cyber security related (the latter often requiring Top Secret clearance). Don't they hire normal office drones to schlep paperwork/data around like other businesses?

Did however have one company (Providence Health) which I applied to a while back send me notice of a new opening that they said I would qualify for. Good organisation. Submitted my interest in the position. I like them because they promote "real" health maintenance, preventive medicine, and naturopathic medicine.

They used to be the coverage I had until the my company went cheap on us and switched providers to a "bargain basement" plan that only covered one after something went wrong (with high fees and deductibles). Didn't mind paying for Providence back then as it gave so many extra benefits. I could walk into the clinic (a short bus ride away) for a visit and pay only 15$ Prescriptions were only 10$, and also covered vision needs with 50% off choice optometrists for services like contacts, glasses and even LASiK surgery. They also had a lot of nice programmes/classes from dietary, to exercise/conditioning to wellness maintenance that were all totally covered in the monthly premium. The sad thing the 'el-cheapo" plan we got stuck with was just about as expensive.

If I could afford them on my own, they would be my #1 choice. Of course, If I get hired, I will automatically be covered, so it's a total "win-win".

@Kyoto - yeah, I should learn about the wings, argh. And I hope you find a good job soon! (big grin

Avocado bacon burger not too bad, a bit mild for me - there's a touch of bite in the pepper sauce but otherwise it's tasty but not spicy. I give it a B+.

Been watching trailers for real bad movies. "Sharktopus", which is a movie about a half shark/half octopus monster that goes around eating people in the ocean, then eating people on the beach, then coming out of the water and just generally eating people. Over the top stupid, probably be a good six-pack movie. The "Sharknnado" about.. a tornado full of sharks. Definitely a WTF, who paid to have this made.. oh.. Syfy. Coes out this week and looks like a fun time if you're really stoned. And finally.. "Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula". Yes, this is a thing, and it actually looks amusing in a campy way,. Might chase it down for the weekend!

None of these can beat "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus", where the shark took out a coming in to land 747 stilll 1000s of feet in the air, and also bit a huge chunk of the Golden Gate Bridge out. GO GIANT SHARK, GO!

Off to watch TV, then early to bed. 6:30am came too soon today and it's going to come too soon tomorrow... (frownie)
