Non Complaint...

In one of those "I could have had a V8" moments, I realized I could export Bryce Tree Objects and use them in DAZ Studio

I like the Pred Pak trees. A bunch of them are in my wishlist. I have a few, but can't spend the money right now, so the rest are waiting there...don't know if they're waiting patiently or not, though.

...keep an eye on the Fastgrab madness going on. Not only did I get Cthulu the other night but just saw that DimensionTheory's HDR Pro sets: Urban Recreation is only 11.99$ (normally almost 40$).

...and World Base XT along with several expansions is also at 70% off.

considering I have Bryce, Carrara, Modo, Blender, Hexagon, not to mention other odds and ends of software I have accumulated over the years, I'm going to hold off on purchasing anymore for Studio, so I can force myself to make my own stuff.

found out Carrara trees import better into Studio, and that I can ditch the texture maps generated from procedurals, and use Shader Mixer to color them.

...hmmm, I'll have to investigate that since I have Blender and both Bryce and Carrara. I wonder if you can take a full landscape turn it into a. obj and import it? Granted would be a pain to retexture of course but it would really extend Studio's capability as such sets for the app are so few.

Shoot on another note, I have a lovely B36 Peacemaker in .3ds format.

Also have A Bristol Brabazon but it's .3dm (Max) not .3ds.

...OK just did a little experiment. Imported the B-36 into Hex, then grouped all the parts, saved as a wavefront .obj, then sent to 4.6.

...umm like wow, there it was, no textures as there were none to load (3ds material files). but still amazed. Looks like I'll get some use out of Hexagon after all.

...oh, and to change topic for a moment the Morphing Business Suit Bundle is also on fastgrab for just under 17$ (I think I paid 30$ for it during MM).

So is the Forest and it's expansions (if you have the memory to render it)

I think this might be their way of doing the old July Summer Sizzle sale and I kind of like it, Not as much since it's not full stores on sale, but a lot of really nice stuff (some on my wishlist) and no strings attached either.

    MASSIVE complaint.

I was playing Age of Mythology with my friend - something we wanted to do for two years but couldn't - and after a few games my computer locked up. I was forced to restart the computer, and when I did I was presented with a screen saying my cooling device was damaged, and essentially "bad stuff" could happen >< Given how much it was stuttering and going on and off from heavy load (Like a render was going) to easing out so much today... I believe it =/

*sighs* FireFox also went all screwy and said something about starting in Safe Mode or not. I said no. But, alas, ALL OF MY ADDONS WERE GONE. FLashBlock, AdBlock, everything. I reinstalled them, but [RAGE] everything I had blocked/allowed between FlashBlock/AdBlock/NoScript was wiped. So I have to re-enable a ton of stuff and disable a ton of stuff everywhere I go now ><

I can't do anything about my laptop's cooling fan until Monday though >< >< ><

*EDIT* Just noticed that a folder was created on my desktop when FF started acting screwy that had a backup of all my FF addon data. I feel stupid now. :P

...looks like I'm not among the welcome members as I see no email. All I have for the last day is another annoying DreamLight spam email. Maybe Daz hates me because I don't care to buy into their "new kid".

fwiw I didn't see it either... usually takes another 24-48 hours for them to make their way down here ~_~. Don't care really, because those coupons aren't worth the effort any more. (raspberry phbbbbt emote). I think I've had a grand total of three coupons that worked since the Big Switch. v(~_~)v.
